"this house would cost tens of thousands of dollars to maintain a years money that I don't have"
I heard unfamiliar voice saying as I walked down the hall, but I just ignored it
"hey babe, do you know where ellas pacifier is" I called out to connie
"it's in here lottie" he said back
as I walked in to our room, Ella, still in my hands, i see a woman I didn't recognise was talking to Connie. I gave her a unsure smile as i walked in. it looks like they had been arguing.
"it's violet, right? laurels oldest"
"um Yeah... " it took me a second, but then I saw Susanna for a glimpse realised how much they look like, "oh, you must be Susannahs sister"
"everything okay" I asked as I turned to talk to Con "Yeah we were just talking" he told me
"Who is this" she asked Trying to change the subject. "I didn't know. Your mother had another kid"
"umm actually" i looked at my boyfriend and let out a nervous laugh. "Ella is ours" he said, grabbing the pacifier off the bedside table
"oh I ummm didn't know" she sounded surprised. then there was a loud bang coming from downstairs, which made Ella start to cry
"what what was that "
"i don't know it sounded like an aunt Julia problem to me" he shrugged, picking up Ella as she walked out of the room.
"what was that about" i asked sitting down on the bed "Don't worry about it"He gave me a kiss and then went to put Ella in her cot
I was walking down the hall when i heard the door bell ring I opened it "hey can i help you"
"sandy denati i'm looking for Julia" she said with an accent "right for the open house" I gave her a fake smile
"you know Julia actually decided to cancel I know it's last minute she's having some second thoughts about selling her dead sisters house" i told the women
"sorry who are you"
"she's my wife" he paused, realising what he just said "and shes right the house is not for sale" Conrad said coming out of nowhere, making butterflies fly all over my stomach
"Conrad Fisher Right" "it's nice to see you. I'm sorry about your mum"
that just pissed him off "well clearly not sorry enough to pass up the opportunity to sell her house"
"i'm just doing my job"
"well, consider this an unexpected day off" he said with a smile making me smile as well. sassy Conrad is my favourite Conrad.
"ignore them, ignore them" Julia came up behind us, breaking us apart to walk through. "there will be an open house today but it does seem to be a minor problem with the A/C it died"
"that is not a minor problem Julia It's supposed to hit 95 today"
"let's chat outside for a minute" she walked out the door. Conrad pretty much slammed it behind her
"wife huh" I teased him he let out a Nervous laugh. scratching the back of his head "Yeah, it just slipped out sorry"
"don't be, I like it" i smiles, giving him a passionate kiss on the lips as he grabbed my waist to pull me in. as i palled away "i'm gonna go check on ella" I said giving a big smile and walking up the stairs
"it's so hot it's like 2000° in here" I heard Taylor say as I walked into the kitchen standing next to Conrad leaning into his side for support "and Julia said the a.c. is broken" i added
"oh, what no way" Stephen said he's literally the worst liar in the world. His voice goes all high and shit. i gave him a weird look and turned back to the conversation As the devil walked in.
"Today's open house has been cancelled. so I need you all out of the house for awhile? well I get the a.c. guy to do some work"
"also, who is the ac guy" she asked but no one answered "do you want me to look ok one up for you" Skye asked her mother. con had told me skye was his cousin
"oh no, that's okay I'm certain Susanna, has a preferred technician and four approved backups right here"she said, pulling out binder from one of the drawers.
"Great, no we don't have to lie about the black moulds to the buyers, let's go to the beach"
"I'm not leaving" Conrad added
"come on we won this round. Let's just get out of here"
"and the mall has good ac" Taylor added
"cool have fun I didn't ditch finals. Just leave this house for the taking" julia slammed the piece of paper. She was reading down on the desk before Conrad could finish his sentence.
"Conrad I'm trying, straining to keep my shit together you've already ruined my day. the last you can do is get up out of my hair for a few hours"
"do you think you're the only one" Conrad goes to say But I cut him off before he can start another fight. I put my hand on his shoulder to stop him from talking. "What about the boardwalk" I talked over him
"yeah the boardwalk that's a great idea" he looked at me and decided to come
"I'm gonna go grab Ella I'll be there in a minute" I whispered to him
when we got there, Ella was fast asleep in her pram, as we slow down to a stop
"Aren't you glad you came Connie"
"How was it any less hot then it would be inside" he answered back to me
"Think positive" I laughed at him "don't you love the ocean breeze"
"I want some ice cream, natures air conditioning" Taylor added making us all give her a weird look
everyone was eating their ice cream as me and Connie shared one, taking turns pushing Ella. When we got to the steps, J and Connie picked up the pram because they were literally no ramps
j and Conrad were teasing belly about the last time they were here. belly was crying. I remember that that was a fun day J and belly had a game of shoot your shot and she had to ride the scariest rides, she hates Heights. I laughed at the memory
I passed the pram over to Conrad, just to shut him up from teasing my sister and grab to the ice cream from out of his hand, He gave me a joke glare.
"I remember when Susanna used to force my mum to come here when they were kids my mum always hated it but Susan loved it so much soo"
Oh no, here we go i thought as Conrad started talking "Do you know what else my mum loves so much, the beach house" which made us all stop walking and face each other
"My mum is not evil conrad and your mum wasn't a saint" I grabbed Conrad's elbow to keep him back and stop him from saying something he would regret. my brother tried to break the awkward silence "Hey violet, can I give ella some ice cream"
"No, are you serious she can't even have a normal food especially ice cream" he is such an idiot
"I'm honestly shocked that your mum had another baby I mean isn't our mums like the same age" skye asked I started laughing while the others give her a weird look and giggled.
I laughed a bit "umm Skye" she just looked at me, confused on why everyone was laughing
"She's mine not my mums"
"oh what, my bad I thought you were like 20"
"19. Actually" i said with a nervous laugh "I just thought you knew"
she looked embarrassed. She didn't realise "good for you being a single mum" that just made everyone crack up including me.
Conrad timed in when he stopped laughing "Skye she's my daughter" he said, raising his hand like he wanted to be picked in a game off tag.
"oh my good i am so sorry" We all just laughed, including Skye
"It's okay, happens all the time I mean come on does this body look like it has gone through 12 excruciating hours of childbirth, while her boyfriend was pacing around the room about to pass out"
"hey" con said making everyone laugh even harder
"I was stressed" pleading his case, I just padding him on the shoulder "cause you where screaming at me"
"What was she saying" Taylor laughed.
Conrad smiled at the memory "She was just screaming, telling me this was my fault calling me a lot of swear words that i will not repeat and when I told her to breathe She asked me if I was the one who would like to push a watermelon out of my vagina"
"Hey, it was an honest question" I laughed. After we had finally all stopped, laughing, J and belly decided to do another competition. We spent the whole day. everyone fighting against each other, but I pretty much just stayed with ella the whole time and watched but i was okay with that. I loved watching them, haveing fun again. Seems like its been a long time since they did.
We walked into cam cameron at the rock climbing he was so excited to meet ella. By the time we got home, it was dark, but we were all still happy from the day. cam decide to come back with us. I cradled ella in my arms as we walked in the door.
The laughing stoped immediately when we entered the house to find it empty, my stomach dropped.
I walked through the house, grabbing Conrad's hand. I know how he would be feeling. as we looked around all memory's fading away.
