Learning Old Norse wasn't as easy as they thought it would. But, with Gaeas' help, they succeeded in doing so. Since it's Sunday, the kids are just taking a break from the work they did yesterday. Things are still the same, just quiet. It made Gaea wonder if she should be either uneasy or just relaxed.
Even though her son, Peter Parker, is still recovering from his "incident" with Otto Octavius, things have been out of hand. The many Superhero groups, like the Avengers, X-Men, etc, helped out with dealing with the villains in New York City, with really good progress being made. Some of Peters' rogues are more formidable than others. But let's just face it, Avengers and X-Men had to deal with things, and individuals, worse than that. It made Gaea grimace as there is one in her mind.
Gorr.
The God Butcher.
Gaea: At least he's dead. Or things would've been worse.
Gaea remembered the time that Thor, in his youth, was imprisoned by Gorr. When thinking back to that time, she wondered why she didn't help. But then it clicked in her mind. She remembered one specific individual. And that individual happened to be a certain "one-eyed raven god".
Gaea: Oh yeah, Odin. Damn one-eyed raven bastard forbade me from seeing Thor the moment my little Thunder was weaned from feeding on my breast milk. Good thing that no longer matters, since I can visit him anytime.
Ever since she reunited with Thor in the Andes Mountains, she felt nothing but happiness and pride for Thor. For the Thunder God that he became. And also sadness for her little Thunder, for all that he lost due to Ragnarok, a cycle she's glad that it came to an end. Honestly, she's starting to wonder if she's being vain about her pride for her children. But then something unexpected happened.
Gaea heard a door knock.
This caused her protective instincts to kick in.
Gaea: Kids, go to your room. Let Grandma deal with this.
Gaeas' grandchildren nodded as they immediately retreated to their room. The door continued to be knocked from the outside. Gaea, pretending to be a cautious mortal, slowly opened the door. When the door opened, Gaeas' eyes widened. It was an individual she had not seen for awhile.
Gaea: Nick Fury?!
Gaea was confused by this.
Nick Fury.
A man she hadn't seen in a long time.
Gaea: That bastard's still living. You always were skilled in survival.
And indeed it is one of her old friends. But he's older than the last time she saw him. There's no longer any hair on his head, except for the eyebrows. His eye patch no longer had the black color, but it is in metallic gray color instead. Gaea can tell that Nick Fury still has his fighting spirit. Then again, Nick Fury always was the stubborn and cryptic one.
She did recall there being a "Nick Fury Junior", which implied that Nick Fury Senior had lived long enough for him to have a wife. It's very obvious that Junior inherited his father's stubbornness, hardass, and cryptic behaviors. Frustrating yet understandable traits. Which is why she didn't trust him as much as some thought she did. But she did feel relief nonetheless.
Nick Fury Senior: Hey, Gaea. Never thought I would see you again. Y'know, about what happened.
Gaea sighed a bit, knowing what Nick Fury Senior was referring to.
Gaea: Come on in, and don't fuck around in there while I'm around. I'm not in the mood for your antics.
Nick Fury Senior raised an eyebrow at Gaeas' response.
Nick Fury Senior: Since when do I fuck around in people's houses?
Gaea simply rolled her eyes.
Gaea: You know what I mean. Now get your spy-boy ass in the house.
Nick Fury Senior: Spy-boy? Seriously?
The former Director of SHIELD then went inside the house. Gaea took a look around to be sure nobody was listening to their conversations. To Gaeas' relief, there is none. She then closed the door. Gaea simply sighed as she rubbed her forehead.
Gaea: You're an old man now, Nick. Shouldn't you be walking like one?
Nick Fury Senior simply shrugged as he answered.
Nick Fury Senior: Just injected myself with a Super Soldier Serum.
Gaea: No surprise there, you always find a way to deal with things that are considered "compromising".
Nick Fury Senior let out a small chuckle. That's definitely true, along with his "mysterious" nature.
Gaea: So what do you want, old friend? And don't even think about trying to blackmail me. Because I'll hunt you down if you do. And if it's my grandchildren that are concerned, don't bother dragging them to your mess like with Alexander Aaron during the whole "Secret Warriors" thing.
Nick Fury Senior winced at the reminder about the son of the Greco-Roman God of War.
Nick Fury Senior: Hold on, why would I even drag them into this?
Gaea: Becau-
Gaea then paused for a moment as she sighs and lowers her shoulders.
Gaea: Sorry, Nick. I'm just protective of my grandchildren. I don't want them to be killed.
Nick Fury Senior: It's fine, Gaea. I understand why you were like that.
Gaea smiled a little bitterly.
Gaea: Anyways, why did you come here? And why me?
Nick Fury Senior still maintained his composure, but if an individual happened to be someone who knew him well, like Gaea, then that individual would see that the elder Nick Fury is expressing a bit of nervousness. Now this puts Gaea on edge. If someone like Nick Fury was nervous, then people would know that something really bad is gonna happen. Gaea felt concerned for her uneasy old friend. It's very rare to see him like this.
That is where Gaea would know that something very bad will happen.
But what is it?
Nick Fury Senior: You're not gonna like this, Gaea.
He then moved his left hand to one of the pockets of his pants and put a small metallic object on the table. Then a hologram emits from said object, showing what appears to be a holographic recording of Nick Fury Seniors' most recent "expedition", as Gaea would put it in her mind. The recording showed what seems to be an underground base. Something about the base seemed uneasy. Maybe because the base has an ominous tone to it.
What's, or who's, in the base that'll make Nick Fury Senior nervous?
And then the answer is there.
The recording then shows a computer terminal. Showing only three simple words.
Ultron is back.
Gaea: Ultron? Why won't that robot learn to give up?!
And that was a disturbing revelation. Since Ultron wasn't heard from in years. Why choose to make a return at this time? It doesn't make sense! Gaea narrowed her eyes.
Gaea: So Ultron is back in the game, eh?
Nick Fury Senior: Sadly, yes. And we're pretty much gonna stop him. But we need to find a way to be sure he doesn't return.
Gaea: And you need my help in case things get out of hand?
The old man simply nodded at the Elder Goddess of Earth.
Nick Fury Senior: Yes.
Gaea: Are the other heroes aware of this? They need to be informed.
Nick Fury Senior: That's what I'm planning on doing. And since Hank Pym was the one who created Ultron, although it was for experimenting in high-intelligence robotics, I'm gonna have him help out. Since he created Ultron, he knows him the best. Gonna have the other big brains involved and see if they'll help.
Gaea nodded at her uneasy old friend. She then stood up and asked Nick Fury Senior.
Gaea: Be sure you succeeded in warning every Avenger. I don't care how, just do it.
Nick Fury Senior smirked at the way Gaea ordered him.
Nick Fury Senior: Are you sure you're not a War Deity?
Gaea snorted at her uneasy old friends' question.
Gaea: Oh please. When I assumed many identities throughout different religions, my duties as an Elder Goddess have been greatly expanded upon since then. War is not an exception. I embody every aspect of it. Hell, some of my worshippers happened to be military personnel. Don't try to test me, old friend. Now get to it. Time for us to dismantle Ultron once and for all.
Nick Fury Senior: You got it, old friend.
Nick Fury Senior then walked to the door and walked away, leaving Gaea alone as she processed what just happened.
Gaea: I should call Nyx and see if she's free to watch over my grandchildren.
Gaea then grabbed her phone, which happened to be a T-MOBILE phone, and called her elder sister.
Gaea: Nyx, this is Gaea. Can you watch over my grandchildren? I'm gonna help the Avengers out with putting an end to Ultron, since the robo-bastard won't stay offline. Thank you. Bye.
Gaea then turns her phone off as she then teleports away from the house. Silence is the only thing in the living room that reigns.
