"Jake, put on your golden eyeliner! Hailey would drop dead at the sight of you! You look so good in it as well!"
Jake watched his blonde-haired sister squeal excitedly as she held the eyeliner in her palm. Jake looked down at it for a few seconds, thinking to himself. He was sitting down on his bed while his siblings surrounded him. "Should I really..? Do you think she would like it?"
Zoey rolled her eyes, nodding her head afterwards. "Duh, obviously! Trust me, big brother. This eyeliner really brings out your eyes!"
"Oh, come on Zoey." A small, meek voice piped in, earning the siblings' attention. "I think Jake looks perfect just the way he is. I mean, he shouldn't have to change his looks to impress a girl. Wouldn't you like a girl to love our brother for who he is?"
Zoey thought for a second or two after hearing her little brother, Elliot. Jake smiled at him, feeling touched at his kind words. No matter what happened, Elliot was always so kind-hearted, even in the worst possible situations.
"Of course I do, and Jake isn't going to be changing his ENTIRE look. It's only his eyeliner I suggested to him." Zoey replied, rubbing her neck.
"I mean, we could change a few things about him. He looks hideous..!" Another male voice spoke out, which belonged to Milo, the youngest of the Sterling siblings. He sulked into a small bean bag he was sitting on, feeling a bit bored.
Jake glared at his brother, blowing a raspberry at him. "As if you look flawless yourself.."
"What are you talking about? I AM flawless! Isn't that right, Elliot?" Elliot felt a small nudge on his arm as Milo winked at him, clearly expecting him to agree.
"Well...your self-confidence is very admirable.." Elliot said, giving Milo a tiny smile. Milo shrugged his shoulders, appreciating the compliment.
"Ugh, c'mon guys!" Jake exclaimed, flopping himself onto his bed covers with his head resting itself on the pillow. "What can I do to get Hailey to become my girlfriend?! Obviously I can't force her to like me, but I really hope and want her to! There's no fucking way in hell Drew is gonna date her! I won't let it happen! Especially after seeing how he treated you, sis.."
Jake diverted his eyes towards his sister, showing her a worrisome look. He was already hurt enough after Drew pained his sister. The last thing he wanted was for it to happen to Hailey, the girl he is in love with. Jake wouldn't be able to tolerate it.
Zoey awed, walking over to the bed as she sat onto it by Jake's side. She stroked her brother's blonde hair lovingly, gazing down at him with a lot of devotion.
"Aww, don't worry Jake. Your birthright besties are right here with you, and we know for a fact that you and Hailey will end up together. Trust me. It'll happen sooner or later. There's no way in hell Hailey will get into a relationship with my ex-boyfriend. She's way too good for him.."
Jake grinned as Elliot trailed up to him as well. "We got you, Jake. You know the three of us will be there by your side, right?"
"What kind of question is that? Of course I do! I love you guys.." Jake murmured shyly, wrapping his arms around Zoey and Elliot. Milo just continued to stare at them, not really in the mood to get all snuggly and cheesy with his siblings. Sometimes, Milo had a tendency of thinking he was too old for certain things.
"Oh come on, Milo. Join in on the hug!" Elliot held out his hand towards Milo and signalled him to come over. However, Milo just shook his head in reply, sulking even more into his bean bag.
"I think I'll pass.." Milo responded, rolling his eyes. "You guys can continue your hug. This is too cheesy and lovey dovey for me.."
Zoey and Elliot gave Milo confused expressions while Jake laughed on the other hand. "Ah well, we all know how Milo is.." He said, smirking. "Still...I really hope Hailey loves me back.."
Zoey seemed to think to herself for a few seconds before she began to speak. "Well, I do hear Hailey gossip a lot about boys whenever she is with the girls. I do remember her saying that she thinks you're pretty adorable, and that she may like you. She even said that she can see herself getting into a relationship with you..!"
Once he heard this, Jake shot up from his bed, a massive smile that showed off a bright expression of excitement displayed on his lips.
"Really?! Hailey said that?! You better not be lying, Zoey!" Jake nearly yelled, turning towards his sister.
"Cross my heart. I swear to God, she actually said that. I know my memory is usually shit, but I do remember this!" Zoey confirmed it again, almost squealing in her place.
This gave Jake a sense of hope. This further affirmed his belief that him and Hailey will end up in a loving relationship with one another. He had wanted this since the day he practically met her. If only Drew wasn't fighting for the same thing.
Jake knew how much his friendship with Drew was deteriorating. A part of him sometimes believed Drew was only crushing and running after Hailey to get under Jake's skin. If that is the case, that would just piss Jake off even more, especially since Drew knew how much Jake liked Hailey since the beginning. Jake remembered how Drew and him used to be close best friends who would rarely bicker with eachother, but things have changed dramatically, which is unfortunate. Now, the two boys are constantly at the other's neck 24/7.
Jake recalled of the moment of when Zoey and Drew had their messy breakup. How angered he was back then. Jake was sure he laid a punch or two. He remembered how he threatened Drew to never go near Zoey again or try to take her back. He remembered how he took Zoey away from the scene as she cried, clutching onto her brother's arm tightly. Jake held onto her as the two walked off into the hallway, out of Drew's sight. He remembered how Drew called and texted him multiple times for the next few days for his forgiveness. Jake doesn't know why or how, but somehow him and Drew are talking again.
"Jake...I think instead of usually flirting with Hailey like you always do when you see her at school, you should go up to her and speak with her in a more friendly way. Maybe ask her if she wants to go on a walk, get some bubble tea one day, or just simply hang out. This is my honest opinion. I don't think it's wise to keep throwing yourself onto her. Approach her in a more kind way.." Elliot gave his advice, looking at Jake with a comforting gaze held behind his light brown eyes.
Jake scratched his head, seeing the basis of Elliot's point. Maybe he had been flirting with his crush a bit too much. Maybe he should be more casual and nice to her instead? It sounds a lot more better now that Jake thought about it.
"See? That's our smart brother..." Jake ruffled Elliot's hair, chuckling. Elliot merely blushed at the compliment, rubbing his neck. "You're right Elliot. Tomorrow, I won't flirt with Hailey excessively like I always do. Instead, I'll be kind, talk to her normally, and maybe even ask her for a hangout or something.."
"That's more like it.." Elliot giggled, resting his hand onto Jake's shoulder.
"It'll probably work. Hailey could possibly accept!" Zoey pointed out. "Elliot is right. I can see you and Hailey going on a date sooner or later if you go this route.."
"If it doesn't work.." Milo began, causing all his siblings' heads to turn around to him. "Does that mean I could have Hailey..?" He questioned with a smugish smile. Jake glared at his youngest sibling, resisting the urge to just pounce on him.
"Milo, shut the fuck up."

-The Next Day-
Jake peeked around the corner, catching a glimpse of his long-time friend and crush. She was at her locker with its door open, clearly checking herself out in the reflection of her mirror hung up inside. She fixed her hair and batted her eyelashes, smiling profusely.
Jake gawked at her, taking in Hailey's beauty. She was truly a beautiful sight to witness. Everytime Jake locked eyes with her, he could feel his heart pump right out of his chest. His knees would go jelly, and his entire body would become stuffy and warm as his skintone went from its usual colour to a vermillion red.
"Okay, Jake. You can do it. Just act casual.." He said in his thoughts, taking slow deep breaths. Once he regained control of his breathing, Jake came out from the corner he was hiding behind and began to make his way over to the ocean-haired teenager. Every step he took added on more weight onto his shoulders as the dreaded feeling of nervousness took over him. Jake didn't want to look like a fool in front of Hailey. He was used to always flirting with her, and that was what he grew accustomed to. However, this was about to be the first time Jake was going to act casual with her, and he was afraid of looking or acting stupid in front of the girl of his dreams.
It didn't take long for Jake to walk up to Hailey as he lightly tapped her shoulder to get her attention. Hailey glanced out from her locker, blinking her eyes as she made eye-contact with the strawberry-blonde haired boy.
"Oh, hey Jake.." Hailey greeted him warmly and shut her locker. She noticed Jake's body language and picked up on how Jake was visibly nervous, for some apparent reason. It made her curiosity and interest spark. "So, how are you?" She then asked as she awaited a flirty response in return, like how it usually is with Jake.
"Hey Hailey, I'm d-doing..o-okay..!" Jake replied as his countenance turned into the colour of a tomato. Jake mentally cringed at himself for stuttering in front of Hailey. He never did that in front of her. It was embarrassing for him, to say the least.
"Um..are you alright..? You don't seem like your usual self.." Jake sighed hearing Hailey question his strange antics.
"Oh yeah! Don't worry, Hailey! I'm dandy!" Jake tried his best to keep everything casual and on the low, but it was incredibly hard for him as he didn't act this way with Hailey regularly on a daily basis.
"Actually...I was wondering about something lately. It's something that I was thinking about asking you. You may think I'm gonna ask you out on a date, or the same old usual flirty questions I throw at you, but I was wondering if m-maybe you..w-wanted to...hangout someday. W-We could go out for b-bubble tea, or go to the park. And don't worry, there won't be any flirty business happening. It'll just be a normal hangout between friends! It's okay..if you don't want to-"
Suddenly, a finger was brought up to Jake's lips, cutting him off his sentence. The finger was Hailey's and she was gazing up at him lovingly, her eyelashes batting themselves once more.
"You know, Jake. I've never seen you act like this before..It's quite adorable to be honest. Are you actually feeling shy around me..?" Hailey neared herself towards him, which made Jake nearly gasp as he grew stiff on the spot.
"W-Well, I-I...u-um..k-kinda! Well, it's m-more like-!" Jake stuttered again, unable to get words to normally come out of his mouth. This only made Hailey chuckle and she gently took Jake's hand into her own, making their fingers interlock.
"This was what I was waiting for, Jake..I was waiting for your true self to come out. I like this side of you a lot. It's really charming." Hailey grew closer to his ear with her lips gently brushing against his ear lobe. Jake shuddered at the touch, his insides exploding.
"Follow me, Jakey.."
Jake was speechless, and allowed Hailey to whisk him away from the lockers. He didn't know what was happening, let alone what had happened, but Hailey was taking him somewhere after just telling him those previous things. Jake didn't feel in control of his own body anymore. He just let Hailey drag him slowly through the hallways. Jake didn't care. He was intrigued anyways. Where were they going? Where was Hailey going with this? Did she have something up her sleeve?
Jake watched Hailey bring him and her right in front of a storage closet. Jake looked at it in confusion, hearing Hailey giggle meanwhile in the background. At this point, Jake knew Hailey was definitely up to something. He just didn't know what it was.
"The janitor asked me if I could get something for him from the storage closet. Do you mind helping me search for it in case I have difficulty trying to find it?" Hailey politely asked, grinning towards her friend.
Jake shot her a goofy beam. "Y-Yeah, sure! No problem at all.."
Hearing his reply, Hailey opened the door leading inside the closet. She made way for him, and Jake walked inside first, which made Hailey the last one to enter. Once in, Jake took in his surroundings, seeing the shelves that were stocked with their items and the cleaning equipment in the back corners. It was also pretty dark in the closet as the light was switched off. Jake was still able to see, though he could just make out whatever was in front of him.
"So uhm, what are we looking for..? Also, is there a light in here? It's almost pitch black.." Jake spoke, turning his head in every direction to find the light switch.
Mere seconds of silence fell upon the two as Jake became puzzled. He was about to open his mouth again to speak until he heard the closet door shut firmly, which was done so by Hailey. Jake turned around to see that the girl was leaning her back against the door, raising an eyebrow of hers seductively as she smirked.
"Hailey..? What are you doing..?" Jake mumbled meekly, only to hear Hailey say nothing in reply. She then started to step closer to him, making Jake walk himself backwards as he pressed his body against the wall.
Hailey inched herself closer to Jake, their faces insanely near to eachother's. She hooked his chin and sighed dreamily, growing more nearer and nearer by each second.
"You wanna know something, Jake? I've always liked you.." She whispered with a giggle. "I've always found you to be charming, sweet, kind, attractive, and so many more positive things I can think of.."
Jake was shocked at what he was hearing. Did Hailey just admit to liking him back? He hoped and prayed he wasn't dreaming. He had always dreamed of Hailey returning his feelings to become a reality. His heart soared out of his ribcage, not able to contain itself. He had never felt so shy in all his life.
Hailey placed her palms onto Jake's firm chest, and she could feel his fast heartbeat. "Shh, calm down. I'm not gonna hurt you.." She muttered, stroking his soft strands.
"N-No..It's just..I've loved you for so long now, and hearing you..say all these things about me..makes my heart..j-jump..for joy...Shit, that sounds cheesy.." Jake facepalmed, shaking his head. Hailey found his behaviour both amusing and adoring. "It's just that..I never act this shy and vulnerable in front of you. I don't even know where this side of me came from. It's like I'm a whole different person. When I flirt with you, I'm much more confident, boastful, cocky, and all of that.."
Hailey wrapped her arms around his neck, and cuddled him slightly. "That's because it's another side of you that also shows a part of your true personality..and I love it.."
Jake beamed, and draped his arms around Hailey's slim waist. Hailey felt so nice for him to touch and hold in his arms. He could hold her forever, he thought, and he would if he could.
"Hailey..I-I.." Jake breathlessly murmured, cupping one of Hailey's warm cheeks. He brought himself in close, and gazed into Hailey's charcoal eyes, which were glancing up at him like a kicked puppy. How adorable she looked when she stared at him like that, when she beamed at him like that, along with her small body held in Jake's arms which fit perfectly like a jigsaw piece. Jake knew he just wanted Hailey all for himself.
"Wanna kiss me..?" Jake heard Hailey ask, his insides twisting and fluttering. He immediately nodded his head in pure, fresh eagerness.
"You don't know how much I wanna taste you.."
Hailey brought Jake into a kiss, pulling him in by his collarbone. Her lips were mellow, almost like silk or cotton. They felt like a warm pillow against Jake's. She hummed while Jake dug his fingers through her blue hair, fiddling and playing with her strands.
They breathed eachother in, along with the kiss growing deeper and deeper. Neither of them dared to pull apart. For Hailey, the kiss was affectionate, delicate, and it had a special meaning behind it. Like it was truly meant to be.
Small noises of satisfaction came out from the both of them while they kissed. Hailey's lukewarm tougue tickled and brushed itself onto Jake's own. He moaned quietly, bringing Hailey's body up against him, their chests touching.
Hailey couldn't help but think Jake's lips were so effortlessly sweet. They had a alluring taste to them that Hailey couldn't help but find addicting. She whimpered, becoming low on breath, not knowing that the noise she had just made sent Jake reeling and made him go crazy inside.
"Hailey..you're all mine.." Jake whispered desperately to her. "Say I'm yours.."
"You're all mine, Jake.." Jake heard his lover reply, much to his delight and excitement. "I belong to you, and you belong to me.."
Finally, after two minutes, both Jake and Hailey broke the kiss, breathing heavily. They held onto one another tightly, no intentions of leaving eachother's arms.
Jake leaned his head down and nipped small, fragile kisses onto Hailey's smooth neck. She moaned quietly into his ear, and closed her eyes comfortably. When Jake kissed her, Hailey felt fuzzy, loved, and protected. He continued down her collarbone with Hailey biting her lip to restrain any more sounds from coming out.
"I love you, princess.." Jake said in-between his passionate kisses, merely glancing up at the girl.
"I love you too, Jake.." Hailey responded, reciprocating Jake's love that he had carried for the musician for many years.
Little did Jake and Hailey know that a certain somebody had secretly caught them going into the storage closet together. Her dim green irises had watched the whole scene play out, from Jake going up to Hailey, to him stuttering and trying to act casual in front of her, then to Hailey flirting with him and taking Jake away, and then finally, to the storage closet scene. Though she didn't witness what had happened in there, it was pretty obvious to her what did happen. She twirled a strand of her hair around her index finger, chuckling lowly under her breath as she leaned against her locker.
"Bold move, Jakey boo boo bear.."
