The moment Lily felt the floor below slightly shaking, her mind immediately went to Gege. So she moved.
No. She ran.
Even her guards did not have time to react when she burst out of her room and rushed to the stairs.
The elevator might take too long or maybe just not be working with how the building was shaking now. So, she took the stairs.
The sound of her feet echoed loudly in the stairways. With how her room was literally on the top floor of the building, Lily really pushed herself to the fullest.
But she did not care if her lungs felt like they were aflame.
She did not care when her feet begged her to slow down.
Gege...
Her Gege was in danger.
So with that, Lily only needed a few minutes to get to the fifteenth floor of the building, where the bathroom should be.
The moment her feet were out of the stairway and on the floor, the first thing that she heard was not something she liked.
Gunshots.
The noises all came from one place.
The bathroom.
The place where Gege would be now.
Lily forced her now aching legs to run. She pushed the door and screamed out into the bathroom.
"Gege! What was going on?! I heard a gunshot—!"
Lily was not able to finish her sentence as she was Lin Ye rushing toward her.
What happened after that was a flash.
And then a boom.
If people thought the building was shaking just a few minutes ago, now they felt it just did a backflip.
The sound of footsteps could be heard getting closer to where all of this happened.
"Doctor! Are you okay?!"
"You Highnesses!"
Lily's guards and Lin Ye's operators, both groups rushed to the scene.
When they all went to the scene, what they saw was the furthest thing that they expected.
The once bathroom that had marble all around for decoration, was now like a place that had a war in it. Some of the floor pieces were gone and there was even a hole in the floor. The mist that used to fill the room was now gone and what was left was smoke.
And not far from them, two figures could be seen.
A man holding a girl close to his chest while her eyes were closed.
Lily slowly opened her eyes and the first thing that she saw was her brother looking at her.
"You, okay?" He asked.
Although he had a reassuring smile on his face, she knew just by looking at his eyes he was worried.
Not wanting to make him even more worried, Lily hurriedly nodded. This got the reaction that she wanted to see in him, his eyes softened, and a soft sigh escaped his mouth.
Lily looked around and noticed the reason why there was not a starch on her was not only Gege's body covering her. Behind him was a thick wall of black ice. That was not even all. There was also a black barrier on every side around them. Seeing that it had holes in it, the barrier seemed to absorb most of the explosion.
She pulled her eyes away from both of them and looked back at her brother.
He was naked.
Minus the towel that was barely covering his lower waist, something that Lily was utterly grateful for, there was not a single thing covering his body.
Although her face quickly brightened up, when Lily finally looked at him her embarrassment was quickly replaced with something else.
Worry.
No matter where she looked, a scar was always on his skin. The biggest was on his side like he got hit by some sort of missile. His hands were not an exception that was lightning-like scars littered all across them.
"Gege—"
"Doctor!"
"Your Highnesses!"
Just when she was about to voice out her worries, shouts came behind them. The two siblings glanced at the entrance and saw people rushing towards them. Lin Ye's face softened at the sight and gently let go of Lily and slowly pushed himself up. Barrier and ice slowly disappeared.
"Hey, guys. You don't have any clothes, do you? Mine..." Lin Ye looked to the side and saw pieces of cloth that were once his clothing. They must get caught up with the big explosion.
In a matter of seconds in front of him was a red robe. That did not make this weird. The person that was offering this was one of Lily's guards. Kneeling down and lowering his head. With both of his hands, he offered the robes to him.
From the look of it, the robe that he was offering was his own. This let Lin Ye finally see one of the six guards that were with Lily. He had to say, it seemed like he found someone with the same trait as FEater because this man was clearly a panda with his black and white panda-like ears on his head. His size was a bit smaller than his but it was much more blockier.
"This is all I can provide Sire," The man solemnly said, "I am truly sorry for—"
Before he could finish his words, the guard couldn't feel the robe on his hands.
The guard's eyes widened and looked up from the ground to see the prince slowly putting on the robe. The sleeves were long enough to cover his whole arm, something that Lin Ye appreciated. He let the hood rest on his shoulders.
After making sure the robe was secured, he looked back at the guard and smiled.
"Thanks."
Although the prince only used a word, the guard could feel that he truly meant it. He quickly recovered from his previous shock. With a knuckle on the ground, he bowed his head towards Lin Ye.
"I-I am honoured." The guard simply said.
Ignoring the shocked expression from Rhodes Island's operator at how he was being treated, Lin Ye nodded.
He looked back at the rubble and saw a person standing not far from him after the smoke finally cleared out.
IN front of her was a gaping hole.
"Nian!"
The person perked up when her name was being called. Turning around, she made her way to his side.
"Is everything fine?" Lin Ye asked the deity.
Nian let out a frustrated sigh.
"I was careless. That woman is an annoying opponent to face."
Lin Ye placed a hand on her shoulder.
"I am not interested in her now. How are you? Did you get hurt?"
Nian's eyes widened after hearing his explanation.
"... You're worried about me?" While pointing at herself, she asked.
Lin Ye raised a brow at how confused she sounded.
"Should I not?" He fired back, "You're my sister."
Such a simple answer. The way he said that was like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
Nian's shocked expression slowly morphed into a smile. Then, without warning, she jumped at him and snaked around his neck.
"You're the best Gege!"
"Don't know what you mean," Lin laughed as he slowly hugged back, "But thanks."
This only made Nian giggle.
On the sidelines, Lily looked at both of them with a blank expression.
If Gege acted like this to every woman that he met, no wonder he was denser than a diamond.
If he keeps this up, the chance of Miss Skadi winning will decrease!
Finally breaking away from their hug, Lin Ye looked around the destroyed bathroom. He then heard sirens screaming. He looked down from the hole and saw what looked like police surrounding the building.
They really did cause a scene.
Lin Ye hummed and looked back at Nian.
"So about that pervert..."
Nian did not need anything more to know who he was referring to.
"You think she's dead?"
"In a perfect world, I would like that. However, this is me we are talking with. And my life is in no way near perfect. She got away." That was his answer. Although pitiful, that was the truth.
This got a laugh from Nian, making Lin Ye roll his eyes.
He turned around to face the rest.
"We have an assassin that is aiming for my head in this city." This got their attention as their back straightened while facing him. Seeing they are all focused on him now, he continued, "She's a Sarkaz, white hair with red horns. Likes to make things go boom. Be careful when dealing with her. With how Laterano treat her kind, not many are here so that should be enough to know it's her."
Lin Ye glanced at Lily's guard.
"All of you, survey the area. Try to find anyone that resembles her. Can you do that?"
Rather than immediately answering him, he all bowed their heads.
"We will not disappoint you, Your Highness."
Lin Ye did not like how he was getting used to thin by now.
"... Good. Go now."
With that, all of them rushed out of the exit. Lin Ye glanced at the Rhodes Island's Operators.
"Lily, do you have the card on you?" He asked her.
At first, the princess did not understand what he meant just now, however, Lily only needed a few seconds to fish out something out of her pocket.
It was a black card. He smiled and took the card away from her. However, he did not forget to give her a pat as a thank you.
With the card in his hand, he walked to the elite operator.
"Blaze, here. Take it." Lin Ye offered the simple black card to the feline, "Just give it back to Lily after you are done."
Blaze took the card and after inspecting it, she did not find anything odd about the said card.
She looked back confused at the Doctor.
"Take the rest to scout the building. Although it may be unlikely, she might be still in the building," Lin Ye noticed her confused expression and explained. He pointed at the card that she was holding, "Go to the main counter and ask them for the master for the whole building. Show this card if they say no."
Blaze looked back at the card in her hand. She doubted that this card could do that, but knowing who owns this card was the princess of Yan, it must be something important.
She nodded at the Doctor while putting the card away.
"Roger that, Doctor," She answered and looked back at her team, "Let's go!"
The team nodded and followed Blaze out of the bathroom. This only left the three siblings alone now.
"She was quite an interesting person, Gege," Nian spoke up first, drawing attention to her.
"Why do you say that?" Lily glared at her. She waved her hands around at the mess, "She almost blew up this whole building!
"That means she's strong!" Nian laughed, "Strong people are always interesting!"
In the last attempt to drive some sense into Nian, Lily looked to Lin Ye for help.
"... I really like people that don't want to kill me. I know, it's really hard to do," Lin Ye joked, "But I have to agree with something."
Lin Ye looked at the large hole in front of him.
"She's interesting."

The sound was something heavily panting that could be heard in a lone alleyway far from the building that had a hole in it now.
"I think I bit off more than I could chew, haha."
W rested her shoulder on the marble wall with her hand still clutching her stomach. Although she had a black robe around her, wounds could be seen all over her body.
With all of the wounds that were on her body, a smirk was still on her face.
"Damn Talulah. What person did you piss off to make me face that man?"
W's mind went to that man.
He was not a normal person like she thought he was. The way he acted so calmly when he tried to stab her like a popsicle with ice or gun her down without a second thought.
But that was not what was dangerous.
It was who he was around.
That man had people. People would make normal people shit themselves just by glancing their way.
Although with all of this, W still smirked.
"Talulah, you have outdone yourself. You found an incredible job for me."
