Diana did not know what to say to this man.
Confronting the man on what he was doing, wasting his time with women, and trying to guess what he did after.
The sound of a glass being placed on the table echoed in the group.
"You know, your sundae is about to melt," The voice of that man was just or maybe even worse than Mostima, "Maybe you should eat it before it is too late."
The man went and dragged her to a café out of all places. They were all seated outside of that café at the end of the streets. A huge umbrella shielded them from the ray of sunlight.
It seemed that she had a slight misunderstanding of his situation. After explaining himself, the two girls that were with him were his sisters and he was giving them a tour of the city.
Diana never thought she would see the day when she met another person as annoying as Mostima in her life. The two girls that were with him, Nian and Lily, were now enjoying their own sundae that he ordered on his right and left respectably.
Lily got a normal vanilla sundae with some grapes sprinkled on it while Nian had a strawberry one. However, rather than sprinkles, she used chilli flakes out of all things. It did get stares from other people passing by but it did not really bother her as she devoured it easily.
Then her eyes landed on the man that caused her so much trouble for today.
Lin Ye did not really order anything for him, just a cup of coffee. His outfit for today was different, gone from his normal hoodie, the man was now wearing a black lab coat over his body.
And she knew where that hoodie was now too.
Rather than taking his offer and eating the sundae, she glared at him.
"You met her yesterday," This was a statement and not a question for Lin Ye.
Lin Ye hummed and leaned back in his seat.
"So you know," He chuckled, "Let me guess, she told you?"
She didn't answer immediately. Diana nudged her head at the people around them. Seeing this, Lin Ye understands what she was trying to say. So with a quick motion, he flicked the white earring on him and the ring from it echoed through the group.
"There," He smiled, "We have privacy now."
Like before, Diana did not know how this man did it. No one seemed to notice their presence now. It was like they never existed. And from the black hair girl's expression, she was as clueless as she was. The only person that seemed to understand what was going on was Nian, who was not bothered by this and still enjoying her weird choice of food.
Not wanting to think much about this, she leaned closer to him.
"Mostima did," She replied, not amused by that fact, "It was safe to say, she enjoyed your sudden visit."
Lin Ye laughed at this.
"Good to hear."
"Tch," Nian clicked her tongue at this, not liking to remember. Who can blame her?
One second, she was enjoying her little adventure with her brother, and then poof!
He went missing.
It still annoyed her just to remember that.
"Who?" Poor Lily was confused at their different reaction.
Not letting the discussion get off track, Diana quickly cut in.
"Destroying a prison made for that person might be the stupidest thing that I have ever seen," Diana sneered, "And I know Mostima. That means something."
Lin Ye just smiled at her harsh words.
"Why, thank you."
"That was not a compliment!" Diana banged her hand on the table, making her sundae jump a bit, "Do you even have a brain in your head?!"
Nian laughed at her reaction while Lily glared at Lin Ye
"So that was you!" Lily grabbed his sleeve and shook his whole body, "What have you been up to, Gege?!"
Lin Ye nervously chuckled and lightly pushed her, "I will tell you later. I promise."
The princess held her glare on him but ultimately nodded.
"You better." She sat back on her chair and looked back at Diana.
The Doctor glanced back at Mostima's overseer.
"Did Mostima get in any trouble because of this?" He seriously asked.
Diana's eyes widened at this.
"That is the first thing that comes to mind?" This confused her, "How is she doing?"
Lin Ye nodded without any hesitation.
"What else?" He asked back, "Is there anything more important than that?"
"..."
Finally, Diana sighed at them.
"I think I am starting to understand why she trusts you so much," Diana glared at him, "You're both idiots."
Lin Ye burst out laughing at this. Although Nian and Lily agreed with what Diana said, it did not mean they were amused at how she was addressing their brother. This is the reason why they were glaring at her.
"True, true," He nodded, "You might be right."
This did not amuse Diana as she kept her glare on him. Before she was about to say anything more about this, Lin Ye interrupted her,
"But enough of that," A smile still on his face, Lin Ye folded his arms around his chest, "You must have a reason to see me, no?"
She couldn't put a finger on it but the air around him seemed to shift. It was like he was a completely different person now.
It was like she was talking to her grandfather now.
"Or did you miss me?" Lin Ye smirked at her.
"..."
The previous air around him was instantly gone when he uttered those words. Not letting Lin Ye control the flow of the conversation, Diana started.
"Mostima is not in trouble. The council put this incident to the side, saying to the public that it was a demolition act," She replied, "With how long you've been staying here, you must know how Lateran are by now."
Lin Ye chuckled.
"Yeah. It's like there's an explosion every day," He confirmed, "So the public must have bought it."
"Just enough for them to ask more about the incident. You're lucky that the citizens here trust their own government that much," She warned, "Any other place, the citizens would dig deeper into this topic."
"I see. Good to hear," He nodded, "Will try my best to not cause any more trouble then."
This got blank stares from three different people. Lin Ye wisely ignored this and carried on with the discussion.
"Anything more I need to know?" He asked the woman, "Anything related to Laterano, perhaps?"
Diana stared at him. She was debating to tell him more, but this might be helpful.
"You talked with Kieran."
What she said came out of nowhere so Lin ye was confused.
"Kieran? Yeah, I talked to him," Still confused, Lin Ye nodded, "What about him?"
"He caused quite a scene at the council from what I heard," Her eyes narrowed at him, "Something relating to suddenly accepting an outside party to work alongside Laterano. The council is focusing on him now, thinking that he is some sort of spy. So be careful around him. Don't want the council to hear more about you."
Lin Ye hummed at this news. Kieran really wanted to work with Rhodes Island with how he was willing to cause a council of a nation to put eyes on him.
Good to know he had someone as dedicated as him on his side.
"Thanks for the info," Lin Ye nodded at her. He raised a brow and asked her, "So what do I need to do?"
This caused Diana to be even more annoyed as she lowered her head and caught it. Groaning into her hand in despair.
"That I want to know," She raised her head and stared at him, "Mostima told me to let you do your thing."
"My thing?" Lin Ye repeated her words in confusion, "What does that mean?"
She banged on the table in frustration.
"That's what I want to know!" Her voice was nearly a scream. Then she calmed down and sat back in her seat calmly, "However I will not stay idle. I will come up with something."
Without saying anything, she stood up.
"I will come in contact with you at a later date," Standing now, she stared at Lin Ye, "And do be careful. Eyes are everywhere."
Lin Ye only smirked at this threat.
"Don't worry," Then flicked his earring, the sound echoing again, "I have my ways."
The sound came back to the group. People chatting, the doorbell chiming. The sound came back into existence.
Diana looked around to get an idea of what was going on but like the first time, she did not find anything.
The bird woman looked back at the smiling man. After sending him a final glare his way and then walked away from the table.
Her figure slowly being the crowd of people.
When Lin Ye was sure Diana was now gone, Lin Ye reached out for the uneaten sundae for himself. Taking a spoonful for himself, he quite liked it.
Well, seeing that blueberry was his favourite flavour for ice cream, it was not that surprising.
Lin Ye was about to take another spoon of it but was stopped when he felt something tugging on his left. Looking to his left he saw Lily pulling on his sleeve to get his attention. Putting down his utensil, Lin Ye gave his full attention to her.
"What is it, Lily?" He asked, "Is something the matter?"
"This Mostima person," Her eyes narrowed at him, "Is this person a woman?"
Strange thing to ask but nonetheless Lin Ye answered.
"Yes?" Lin Ye replied while raising a brow.
Lily leaned in closer to him.
"Is she important to you?"
This question made Lin Ye think harder.
What was Mostima to him?
He couldn't put a finger on it but something in him told him that he needed to keep her safe. It was the same sensation when he first met Yuki back on Halloween.
This feeling of responsibility. In giving that person a life that was best for them.
"... Yes," He firmly nodded at her, "She's important to me."
"So let's get this straight," Lily folded her arms and glared at him, "You are perhaps going against a whole nation to save a woman that you care a lot about?"
"... Yes," He nervously answered, "You can word it better though."
"..."
Lily sighed helplessly at his answer.
"Gege, I am seeing a trend now," She glared at him, "And I do not like it."
Raising his hands at her, Lin Ye hoped it was enough to decrease her anger.
"I don't understand what you are saying."
If he did not slowly look away from her, it might be convincing.
Seeing the two being preoccupied now, Nian took this chance and stole Lin Ye's sundae and sprinkled some spice on it.
Lily sighed and sat back comfortably in her seat.
"This is just who you are," She sent a sharp gaze to him, "It doesn't mean I like it!"
"Okay, okay," Lin Ye said.
Lily angrily took a spoonful of her own sundae and ate it. After swallowing it, she pointed her spoon to Lin Ye.
"Seeing that she is now gone, we can talk about something important to Yan now."
She guided her spoon towards the black sword on his waist.
"About Zhan Lu."
