You ran as fast as you could, the lake came closer and closer. There were trees around the lake, so you had to be careful not to trip over a root or a branch.
As you ran, you found yourself running out of breath, but you were too proud to give up.
You quickly looked behind you and could see that Eren came closer as he was way faster.
The brunette overtook you 3 meters before the 'finish line' and stopped at the edge of the lake.
"Shit..."
You mumbled when you arrived a few seconds later.
"What a surprise."
He was obviously proud and smirked like a madman
"Looks like I won."
While breathing heavily you looked at him pissed
"Fuck you."
At your reaction he had to laugh proudly and loud
"Looks like you're a bad loser. It's your fault, you challenged me."
After breathing was easier again you stood still and waited for him to stop laughing. You actually wanted to act serious, but when you saw him like that you couldn't help but smile.
"Well-"
Eren stopped laughing and came a little closer
"Where is my Prize?"
He leaned his face closer to yours and still smirked
"H-huh? Uh..."
You already regret challenging him
"Fine... what's your wish?"
"Hm..."
The brunette thought for a second, although it looked like he already knows what he wants.
Eren leaned down a bit and pointed his finger to his left cheek.
You started to blush
"Huh?"
He stayed in this position
"Yesterday you had no problems with that."
This caught you off guard. He was talking about your embarrassing good night kiss.
"Yeah alright..."
You came one step closer and looked at his cheek right in front of you. Does that means he liked it yesterday? Or is he mocking you?
You quickly gave him what he wanted, but he stayed in that position unfazed.
"Not like this again. Do it with a little more passion." He quietly and kinda seriously said this while closing his eyes
Your own heartbeat now was louder than everything else. Is he serious?
Even though you suddenly felt so shy you could feel the butterflies in your stomach. This feeling became stronger with every second.
You squinted your eyes together and your posture got stiffer.
"A-alright."
In your mind you counted down from five to zero.
Five...
Four...
Three...
Two...
One...
Without trying to delay it any longer, you gently placed your lips on his cheek and stayed like this for a few seconds. His cheek felt warm and you felt a few small beard stubbles on his skin, but it didn't bother you as it is normal for an adult male.
You gently removed your lips and opened your eyes, your body felt so warm suddenly as you were curious and scared about his reaction for some reason.
Eren opened his eyes as well. His cheeks turned red and he smiled while touching the spot where you kissed him.
His reaction gave you more butterflies in your stomach- it flows through your whole body and it kinda tickled in a pleasant way.
"Hehe..."
He laughed quietly while he was still smiling
"Thank you."
He sounded a little shy as well, but in a cute way. His eyes softened as he looked at you deeply into your eyes.
Seeing Jaeger like that warmed up your heart. To others he may be a devil, a murderer or a dangerous titan, but to you he is a hero.
A person to respect and appreciate.
"N-no problem!"
You tried to act calm, but it was easier said that done
"Great!"
His smile was so big that he also showed his teeth
"Now... let's continue our walk."
"Ohhh yeah sure, of course!"
You really tried to act normal and cleared your throat.
It was quiet for a moment, but then Eren started to talk about titans.
Thank god.
You listened to him carefully and tried to ignore what just happened to be able to concentrate, at least for now.
You two walked along the edge of the lake and the moon was reflected in the water. You also had to think about the last time you two were at the other lake, it was funny if you think about it now.
"I have to admit- some titans are truly ugly."
You laughed while Eren just admitted that he thinks that the chart titan is the ugliest one
"Which titan looks the prettiest in your opinion?"
Eren asked curiously
"Hm... the female Titan."
"..."
Now he acted like you were hurting his feelings
"A-and of course the Attack titan!"
You awkwardly looked at him
When you looked at Jaeger your focus was on what was behind him as something catches your eyes. It was a cliff about 6-7 meters high.
Right at the cliff edge it looked like someone was standing there.
You stopped walking and tried to focus your sight on the person. As it was night it was a little dark after all.
"Zeke and the beast titan have something in common- hair, hair and more hair."
Eren just continued to talk and didn't noticed that you stopped walking
The longer you looked at the cliff you noticed that there was actually someone standing there.
They looked towards the lake and so you could only see the person from behind. But they seemed so familiar...
You slowly came closer to the person. It looked like a little girl with blond long hair and a white...dress...
Your heart was racing like a trapped bird, desperate to escape.
Eren was calling your name from afar, but you panicked inside and block out everything around you.
The only thing you could hear was your heartbeat.
"Ymir."
It was difficult for you to say something, but you approached her with small steps. Your hands began to shake.
The little girl was quiet and didn't turned around, she suddenly started to walk slowly towards the end of the cliff.
"What are you- YMIR!"
Everything happened so fast,
she fell down into the water and a loud splash could be heard.
Without hesitation you ran to the end of the cliff.
Gazing down the sheer drop, you nearly fainted. You could only see some bubbles coming out of the water, but not her body. You could hear stones breaking free and fiercely tumbling down the hillside, plummeting into the dark abyss of the forbidding black water.
"Y/N NO!"
It was Eren who was running to you, but his voice didn't reach you
You gathered all your courage and closed your eyes. Suddenly you were no longer afraid of heights and took a step further to jump down to save her.
The wind tickled your whole body as you fell, but before you could even realize it you were already in the water.
Air bubbles traveled up from below and sometimes touched your body.
The water was cold. Very cold.
Adrenaline flowed through your body so that the cold didn't bother you at that moment. You just wanted to save her.
You couldn't see anything as it was very dark and just swam blindly downwards- hoping to find her.
The pressure in your head increased the deeper you swam.
You swam as fast as you could.
Suddenly some faint rays of light shimmered from above into the water, apparently the clouds that covered the moonlight have moved away now.
You could see Ymir, she was right in front of you. However, it looked like she was drowning. She didn't move and her body kept sinking down. Is she unconscious?
Air was running out, you have to hurry up. There is no time to think.
You grabbed her hand and pulled her body against yours. Her hair in the water tickled a bit and her body was cold as well.
When you were about to swim up she suddenly put her hand on your cheek.
Her face was close to yours. While looking at the blonde you even forgot that you were underwater in that moment.

Although you two were underwater you could hear her voice crystal clear.
Hearing that triggered so many emotions in you.
Right after she said this, countless air bubbles appeared and pushed your body upwards. You tried to counteract them, but you couldn't see her anymore. It's like she just disappeared.
"YMI-"
Your air ran out and started to panic, but no strength was left either.
All of a sudden something grabbed your hand and pulled you up.
They quickly put your arm around their shoulders and with the other hand they held you by the waist.
When you reached the surface of the water, you both took a deep breath, choking on some water and coughing.
Your arm still stayed around their shoulders and their hand on your waist. The person pulled you onto the lake shore.
When you were out of the water you kneeled down on the ground. You support your upper body with your elbows and looked down as it was easier to cough the water out of your lungs that way. The other person did the same.
"ARE YOU-"
they were coughing again
"ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND? WHAT WAS THAT?"
It was Eren of course.
Now that you're no longer having trouble breathing, you layed down completely on the ground with your arms outstretched, your gaze skyward.
"I..."
"FUCK YOU WERE ABOUT TO DROWN! YOU COULD HAVE DIED!"
He knelt on the ground right next to you and supported his upper body right over you with his arms.
Waterdrops from his face fell straight onto your face, his expression was intense. He looked angry and worried at the same time.
Tears filled your eyes, your whole body started shaking.
You only now realized the situation you had gotten yourself into. He's right, you could have died.
You could barely talk. Your tears blurred your vision
"I... I saw Ymir. She w-was jumping do-"
"WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?"
He tried to calm down and let out an loud sigh, his face still over your face.
"Y/n... there was no one."
Your eyes widened, his words shocked you
"W...what?"
You felt so stupid. Was that an illusion? a hallucination? Are you completely insane now?
"I swear I saw her... she even said something!"
He looked at you breathing heavily and with his brows furrowed for a few moments
"And... what did she say?"

You had to think for a second and quietly answered
"She said something like: so you really would have saved me from drowning.."
He was looking at you quietly and analyzed you before lying down right next to you.
You didn't know what to say.
Should you apologize?
Justify yourself?
Admit that you've completely lost your mind now?
You wanted to say so much, but you didn't have the strength anymore.
