Lin Ye stood awkwardly in the middle of the room. Two pairs of eyes stared at him. One pair was glaring at him while the other was looking at him confused.
This day, Lin Ye was sure of himself that someone out there was making his life horrible just because it was entertaining for them to see him suffer.
First the call.
Then, the news.
And now, he was dealing with this shit.
He did not know how. He did not know where.
One day, he will punch them so hard, their head will be flying out from their shoulders.
Enough of him thinking about killing a deity for now. He had more concerning issues that he needed to deal with.
There was an angry Oni glaring holes in his skull, While in front of him. She was now wearing a simple black shirt with matching shorts.
Lin Ye really needed to choose his words wisely after this. This will literally be the deciding factor of him surviving or not today.
He glanced at the confused Kylin.
"...So," He drawled out, "I didn't know you got yourself a roommate that quickly."
Snapping out from her daze, Leizi nodded at him.
"She just moved in yesterday," She explained, "It was even more surprising that my roommate would be Miss Yuki."
This caught his attention, "You know her?"
"Truth is, she used to be the fiancé of... the late prince."
Lin Ye's eyes widened when he heard this, His gaze went to Snow.
"Him? Really?" Lin Ye asked, shocked that Snow would even consider that man as a friend, "Please tell me that was not on your own accord."
Snow felt offended by his words.
"Of course not" Snow Explained with an annoyed voice, "My family chose him, not me!"
Lin Ye let out a sigh of relief. He thought maybe The bastard that he calls a brother had some redeeming quality but luckily, he did not.
Would he still kill him if he had, though?
Probably, Yes. Depends on what redeeming quality his late brother had.
It just made him feel slightly guilty.
Like what he feels when he cracks an egg for breakfast. He felt guilty about killing when doing it but he still needed something to eat.
Snow was not done with him though.
"And don't just forget what happened just now," Snow glared at him.
"I am sorry, okay," He realised with his hands up, "And it is partially your fault."
"What?" Her glare hardened on him.
Although that was the case, Lin Ye wasn't scared of it, The woman he was staring at right now was the cat he took care of anyway.
"Who in their right mind doesn't lock their room when they're bathing?" He asked.
"I was in the shower, and Leizi was the one that didn't close the door properly." Snow explained herself.
Lin Ye looked surprised. He turned his gaze towards the unfortunate Kylin, and snow also followed his gaze, staring at the girl.
"Is that true Leizi?" Lin Ye asked.
With all eyes on her now, Leizi looked a little embarrassed
"... I just wanted to get something to eat," Leizi finally admitted, "I didn't know someone would come in the room...."
Both Snow and Ye sighed at this.
"Let's just forget about that for now," Lin Ye offered to the two, "Deal?"
"Deal," Leizi instantly agreed. Seeing the opportunity to end this without any further discussion
"..."
Snow did not say a word.
The two looked and stared at her. Patiently waiting for her reply. After some time passed, Snow finally sighed and shook her head.
"Fine." She said.
Lin Ye smiled at this.
"Good," He nodded. Then his eyes went back to Leizi, "Leizi, I need to talk to you about something."
Leizi looked at him confused. However, she only needed a second to realise what he wanted, making her eyes narrow a bit.
"Is this about Lily?" She asked.
She only needed a nod from him for Leizi to stand up and walk towards him.
"I understand," She opened the door, "We need to find someplace for us to talk about this privately."
Lin Ye was about to follow but stopped himself, before turning his head to Snow. She looked confused. He could only give her a troubled smile.
"Personal issue," He chuckled, "Sorry."
Before she could say anything to him, Lin Ye followed Leizi, leaving the room and closing the door behind their back.
Now alone in her room, Snow could only stare at the door in front of her. She analysed what happened just now.
Although their interaction was quick, Snow got a lot of insight into who Lin Ye was.
His ability to keep himself calm and collected in a random situation. Even if the situation was....Something.
Although he barged into her room, he didn't do it intentionally. So he wasn't really a pervert.
Snow also noticed what Lin Ye calls the royal family of Yan. What connection did he have or had with them?
She got answers, but more questions appeared to replace them.
But that didn't make her determination waver in the slightest.
In fact, it lit them even more.
"I will get to know you more," Snow promised herself.
{Rhodes Island's Psychologist}
"My other office is on this floor," Lin Ye said as he walked beside Leizi, "It is just a short walk away from your dorm."
Leizi glanced at him and nodded, "That's good."
As he said, they only needed to walk for a couple moments to find themselves standing in front of his old office.
Leizi looked at the door and saw the sign for the door.
[Psychologist Department]
She spun her head to him and saw him smiling.
"You're the psychologist?" She asked in shock, "The rumoured one."
Lin Ye looked troubled as he smiled at her.
"I really do not like how you worded that," Lin Ye sighed, "What did you hear about me?"
Just as she was about to say that she heard what an amazing psychologist he was and how people like to call him a professional, Lin Ye raised his hand to stop her.
"Never mind, don't," Lin sighed as he opened the door with a card, "Might give me a migraine just by hearing them. Curse that damned loudmouth owl of mine."
Lin Ye grumbled as he walked into his office. Without any idea what was going on, Leizi just followed him into the room, closing the door behind her.......
And Coincidentally, Olivia was just passing by and saw Lin Ye walking into the room with Leizi.
She stared blankly at the closed door of his old office.
"... I need to teach Lin Ye a lesson on how to portray himself in public," She sighed, "If anyone else saw that, they might think he was going to do something sketchy."
With that thought in her mind, she had a small smile plastered on her face as she walked away.
She now had an excuse to see him.
Back in his office, Lin Ye went to the kitchen area and made two cups of tea. He brought both cups to the living room and saw Leizi comfortably sitting on one of the sofas.
Lin Ye gently placed the cups onto his small coffee table.
"Here," Lin Ye smiled as he sat on the sofa facing Leizi, "Drink when you feel like it."
Leizi looked at the cup and back at him. She smiled.
"Thank you, Your Highness," She said.
"Doctor," Lin Ye chuckled, "We don't want to get too much attention, do we?"
Although she looked conflicted, Leizi understood that His Highness liked his new life.
"I understand, Doctor." She finally said.
Lin Ye chuckled at how hard it was for her to say that.
"Don't force yourself," Lin Ye picked up his cup and said, "Call me whatever you like when we are alone."
Leizi smiled at this. Seeing that the prince was about to take a sip, she followed his lead and picked up her own.
Leizi had to say, the prince knew how to brew a good tea. This should be black tea with how it smelled earthy, floral and sweet. It was light on her tongue and a pleasant experience to drink.
Lin Ye gently placed back the cup and leaned back on the sofa.
"So Leizi," He hummed as he placed both of his arms on his knees, "Is Lily fine?"
Seeing how serious the prince was now, Leizi gently placed the cup down and straightened her back as he faced him.
"Seeing how Your Highness is now, you must know that Yan has a new emperor?" She asked.
"Yes," Lin Ye nodded, "Ren took the throne."
"You are correct, Your Highness," Leizi confirmed. "With Ren being the new emperor of Yan officially today, he made a call to me."
Lin Ye raised a brow at this but kept his mouth shut to let her continue.
"Before His Highness Emperor Ren became the emperor, he informed me to tell you that Lily will not be harmed in any way shape or form," Leizi smiled as she said, "He also told me that you do not need to go back to Yan to see her."
At first, Lin Ye was relieved to hear this but the second part of her explanation was where his attention was caught.
"To see her?" Lin Ye raised a brow at her, "What did he mean by that?"
Seeing how she shook her head, Leizi was just as clueless as he was.
"I do not know," Leizi said, "He also wanted me to tell you something else."
Lin Ye hummed.
"What is it?"
"Do not attack Yan, Ying Li is safe," Leizi nervously said, "That was what he wanted to say to you."
He hummed and thought about this. After a while, Lin Ye finally nodded.
"Noted."
