SLIGHT SPOILORS FOR LOVE AND THUNDER
Willa: "test 48 is a fail...once again"
Willa sighs and digs her face into her hands
Willa: "I'm never going to get this right"
She takes off her glasses and rubs her eyes. Glancing at the clock on the wall, she realizes it is now late at night
Willa: "shit, I should get to bed, I have been up for way too long"
Standing up from her desk, she walks into the bathroom getting ready for bed
It is now the next morning, the sun is shining on her face
Willa pulls the blanket over her head, shielding herself from the light. Her phone starts to buzz, peeking out from the blanket, she sees that it is her alarm. Willa turns off the alarm and gets out of bed, walking to the bathroom
She brushes her teeth and walks out to the kitchen. Starting her day, as usual, she pours herself a cup of coffee and watches the sun rise from her balcony
A bit later
Willa: "I should start work again..."
She sighs
As she turns around to walk into the house. A blonde figure with a silver type of helmet lands on the balcony, a few feet away from Willa
Willa: "fuck! W-who the hell are you?"
??: "Willa"
Willa: "how do you know my name?"
??: "right"
The helmet disappears to reveal Willa's girlfriend, ex-girlfriend, not sure what since she disappeared a few years ago without a trace
Willa: "J-Jane"
Jane: "hey"
She carefully places Mjölnir down on the ground
Willa: "where have you been? Its been so long"
Jane: "I know, I know and I apologize"
Willa: "Wow, you're a lot taller'
Jane: 'yeah"
She chuckles
Willa: "Jane, where did you go?"
Jane: "I had something to deal with something"
Willa: "you left me, Jane, I was worried. You left me without any message or, or"
She starts to cry
Jane: "I know, I know"
Jane pulls Willa into a hug
Jane: "I'm sorry, I'm sorry that I did but I promise you, I'm not leaving you again, I promise you"
Willa cries into Jane's shoulder
Jane: "come on, let's get you inside"
Willa nods and they walk into Willa's house
Jane: "nothing has changed since I was last here"
Willa: "I kept everything the same. God, I can't believe you're here"
She starts to lose balance
Jane: "why don't you sit down"
The blonde woman pulls out the kitchen stool so Willa can sit down
Jane: "let me get you some water"
Jane walks over to one of the cabinets and grabs a glass, then she walks over to the fridge to the water dispenser. As she is filling up the glass with water, she sees a photo on the fridge of her and Willa from one of their dates years ago
Jane snaps out of her thoughts and walks over to Willa, handing her the glass of the water
Willa: "thanks"
She starts to drink her water
Willa: "why are you back?"
Jane: "I took care of what I needed to do...I wanted to see you again"
Willa: "but you left me for 3 years, 3 years without any contact or anything. Why?"
Jane: "I know and im sorry. I regretted leaving you but I had to"
Willa: "you hurt me, Jane. You hurt me a lot by leaving"
Jane: "I didn't mean to but obviously I did"
Jane pulls a strand of Willa's hair back
Willa: "why do you look so different?"
Jane: "a lot has changed since I left..."
Willa: "yeah, it has"
Jane: "I am now, Mighty Thor"
Willa: "mighty Thor, I've heard about you"
Jane: "Yeah, that's me"
Willa: "that still doesn't explain how you look so different"
Jane: "When I use mjölnir, it enhances my strength and health. It also changes my hair color as well as my height"
She chuckles
Willa: "So you left me and got a superhero upgrade"
Jane: "I left for a reason. I will tell you but not now"
They both put their foreheads together
A few days later
Jane: "Willa, can we talk"
Willa: "what is it?"
Jane: "I wanted to talk to you about something and I completely understand if you don't want to b it I was wondering if we could. If-god I'm such a mess. I-"
Willa: 'just shut up and kiss me"
Jane pulls Willa into a kiss, both of them smiling as they kiss
Naturally, Jane's arms wrap around Willa's waist and Willa's arms wrap around Jane's neck
Willa: "I missed this, I missed this a lot"
Jane: "so did I... so this means we can start over"
Willa: "yes you idiot"
Jane: "I'm not an idiot. I'm the number one astrophysicist in the world who happens to be a badass hammer-wielding superhero"
Willa chuckles as Jane kisses her again
Jane: "I missed our small and stupid argument"
Jane: "so did I. It's been really lonely these past 3 years...I dug myself deep into my work and rarely left the house. Darcy had to practically drag me out of my house"
Jane chuckles
Jane: "sounds like something she would do"
Willa: "I know I keep on saying this but I missed you. I missed you a lot"
Jane: "so did I and I regret leaving you those years ago"
She kisses Willa's temple
A week later
Willa wakes up in her bedroom, Janes's arms wrapped around her. She tries to get out of janes grip without waking her but fails miserably
Jane: "Willa?"
Willa: "I-I didn't mean to wake you"
She quickly covers herself with the blankets
Jane: "Hey, it's okay"
Jane moves Willa's hair it the side and kisses her cheek
Willa: "it's not that"
Willa notices something on her skin, starting to peek out from under her t-shirt
Willa: "shit"
She adjusts the blanket to hide it
Jane: "what is it?"
Willa: "it's, it's nothing. I need to get ready and head to the store"
She gets out of bed, the blanket still wrapped around her
An hour later
Willa is walking toward the store while texting her best friend
Willa: "I can't believe you got a job
at S.W.O.R.D., that's awesome Darcy"
Darcy: "I know, I can't wait to start"
Willa: "when are you starting?"
Darcy: "in a few weeks. Now that Monica
is the director, everything is a lot better with S.W.O.R.D."
Willa: "she sounds like an amazing
person, I would love to meet her"
Darcy: "we should all go out to dinner"
Willa: "that sounds amazing"
Darcy: "When are you coming to visit?"
Willa: "I'm not sure. I've been pretty busy.
You know that experiment that
I was telling you about"
Darcy: "yeah I do. You wouldn't shut up about it"
Willa: "rude. Anyways, I am so close
to actually getting a successful test"
Darcy: "Really, that's amazing"
Wila: "I know. This can help
people all around the world"
Darcy: "my best friend is a genius"
Willa chuckles to herself as she continuous to text
Darcy: "how is it having Jane back?"
Willa: "it's amazing, I missed her so much.
I know it's cheesy and all but I feel
like an empty part of me has finally been restored"
Darcy: "you two were amazing together,
it's great to see you both together again after 3 years"
Willa: "yeah, it is"
Willa continues to text Darcy and as she is doing that, a call from Jane pops up on the screen. Quickly, she answers the call
Willa: "hey"
Jane: "Hey, I just wanted to know how long until you get back"
Willa: "not long. I just need to pick up some stuff and I'll be back"
Jane: "okay. I wanted to tell you that-"
All of a sudden the ground starts to shake but it's not due to an earthquake. It's due to something else
The building Willa is standing under starts to collapse
Willa: "shit"
Willa starts to run away but before she can get away, pieces of the building breaks off and rubble falls onto Willa, trapping her underneath
Jane: "Willa, Willa talk to me"
All she hears is static coming from Willa's side
Jane: "Willa! Shit!"
Jane drops her phone and runs out to the balcony, extending her right hand. Mjölnir flies into her hands and transforms her into Mighty Thor. Jane spins mjölnir quickly and takes off flying in the air
Minutes later she lands where Willa was at
Jane: "Willa!"
She runs over and pushes debris off of her girlfriend
Willa: "J-Jane"
Jane: "it's just me, it's just me. I'm going to get you out of here"
She lifts Willa up and holds her steady
Jane: "I'm going to get you out of here"
Willa: "J-Jane"
Jane: "what's wrong?"
Willa: "I-"
She coughs
Jane: "I need to get you out of here, you aren't well
She raises mjölnir in the air but before she could fly them both away, she gets hit with something And flies into a building
Willa: "Jane!"
Yon-Rogg: "well well well. Willa, great to see you again. It's been a long time"
Willa: "Yon-Rogg"
Yon-Rogg places a hand on Willa's cheek
Willa: "get your hands off of me"
Yon-Rogg: "getting snappy"
He chuckles
Willa: "leave me alone"
Yon-Rogg: "you know I can't do that"
Jane groans and gets up, brushing the dust off of herself. She sees Willa on the ground with a man towering over her
Jane: "Willa"
She extends her right arm and mjölnir flies into her hand
Jane spins mjölnir quickly and uses it to fly toward Willa
The blonde hero lands a few feet away from her girlfriend and the unfamiliar man
Willa: "Jane"
Jane: "what do you want with her?"
yon-Rogg: "she needs to pay for what she has done"
Jane:"Willa, what is he talking about?"
Willa: "I-"
She starts cough
Jane: "Willa, what's wrong?"
Yon-Rogg looks at Jane then at Willa
yon-Rogg: "why don't you show her"
Willa: "n-no"
Yon-Rogg rolls his eyes
Yon-Rogg: "why don't we take a look, shall we. show her what we are talking about"
He rips off Willa's hoodie to reveal black lines peeking out from Willa's shirt
More of the black lines present on Willa's arms and neck
(I am struggling to describe this but just imagine like avirus or something that is on her skin that is black lines)
Jane: "Willa"
Yon-Rogg: "she doesn't know does she?"
Jane: what is he talking about
Yon-Rogg: "why don't you tell her"
Willa: "Jane, I will explain everything but-
Yon-Rogg: "why so hesitant Willa? Just tell her the truth"
Willa looks at her girlfriend who is standing a few feet away
Yon-Rogg: "I guess I will. Your precious little Willa here got into something that she shouldn't have. A Kree artifact. It has a defense system so that those who aren't supposed to have it are poisoned with odium. Except that this type slowly eats away at one's body until all their life is gone. You can clearly see that the Odium is not far from claiming another victim"
Jane looks at Willa anxiously
Jane: "why didn't you tell me?"
Willa: "you were gone"
Jane: "but I came back"
Willa: "I didn't want to worry you"
Jane: "I'll always worry about you, no matter what"
Yon-Rogg: "enough of this love stuff"
He pulls Willa by her hair and a device in his suit opens up
Yon-Rogg: "I think that the supreme intelligence would love to meet the person who tried stealing their most precious item"
Jane: 'that's not going to happen"
She swings mjölnir around quickly and throws it at Yonn-Rogg
Mjölnir sends yon-rogg flying back and Jane runs over to Willa who is now lying on the ground
Willa: "J-Jane"
She starts to cough up black stuff
Jane: "I'm right here, I got you. I'm right here"
She picks up Willa
Jane: "I'm going to get you home then I will come back to deal with all of this"
She extends her right hand and mjölnir flies into her hand. Jane quickly spins mjölnir allowing her to fly up and to Willa's house
At Willa's house
Jane sets down Willa on the couch and sets down mjölnir on the floor, transforming back to her regular self
Willa: "I'm sorry that I didn't tell you"
Jane: "don't apologize. Don't do that"
Willa coughs out more of the black substance
Jane: do you need anything
Willa shakes her head
Jane: im going to go back out there and deal with him. I will be back soon
Willa: "Jane, wait"
Jane: "what's wrong?"
Willa: "please be safe"
Jane: "I will"
She kisses Willa's forehead. Jane walks over to mjölnir and picks it up, transforming into mighty thor
An hour later, Jane returns
Jane: Willa
She rushes around the house to find Willa sitting in the floor out in the balcony
Willa: Jane
Jane drops mjölnir to the ground and rushes over to her girlfriend
Jane notices more of the black spreading onto Willa's face as the seconds' pass
Jane: "I'm right here, I'm right here Willa"
Willa continues to cough up a black substance
Willa: "I-I feel the Odium sucking the remaining life out of me"
Jane: "stop"
Willa: "I'm sorry Jane"
Jane: "please, please don't. Don't leave me. I can't lose you again"
Jane places her hands on Willa's cheeks
Willa: "I love you, Jane. I'm glad I met you and I'm glad you found me again"
Jane: "I love you too Willa. I will always love you, no matter what"
They both kiss and Willa's eyes slowly close
Tears start rolling down James cheeks knowing that Willa is now gone
Jane: "I never had the chance to tell you why I left..."
Jane: "we will be together soon"
She kisses Willa's forehead
Jane: "I love you"
Test 52 is complete. Status: success
Jane: "too late... It could have saved her"
Months later
Darcy: "you can keep going off and playing superhero. Every time you transform, the magic is getting rid of the chemo. I already lost Willa, I can't lose another one of my bed friends"
Jane: 'but if I don't, people will get hurt"
Darcy: "Jane"
Jane: "I can't promise you anything Darcy, I'm sorry"
She walks out leaving Darcy alone in the room
A couple of hours later, Jane arrives home
She looks around and just like every day for the past couple of months, it's been empty
Jane: "I miss you Willa"
She walks down to Willa's lab and starts working
A few hours later
Breaking news, lower Manhatten has been-
The rest of the sounds in the room start to fade away and Jane only focuses on the tv
She drops what she is doing and rushes out of the house, mjölnir flying into her hand and transforming her into mighty Thor. Jane takes off to the lower part of Manhattan. When she arrives, she sees these monsters coming out from the shadows
Jane: "what the hell"
She quickly spins mjölnir and throws it toward the monsters. Mjölnir breaks apart into smaller pieces and pierces through the monsters
Jane continues to fight the monster until none are left. Mjölnir returns to her hand, reconstructing itself
Once it does, Jane collapses to the ground out of exhaustion. Knowing that she pushed herself too hard, she drops mjölnir, turning back to her normal self. Jane starts to cough uncontrollably, her breath thinning out more and more
Jane: "so I guess this is it"
She chuckles to herself as she leans against pieces of rubble
Jane pulls out a photo of her and Willa from years ago. The same photo Jane saw on the fridge the day she returned to Willa
Jane: "I miss you...I miss you a lot..."
Looking down at the photo in her hand, smiling, Jane starts to feel her eyes getting heavy
Her eyes slowly close
Jane wakes up in an unfamiliar place. She looks around and sees Willa a few feet away from
Willa: "Jane"
Jane: "W-Willa?"
Jane runs over to Willa, picking her up and kissing her
Jane: "how, how are you here, and where is here?"
Willa: "Valhalla"
Jane: "Valhalla?"
Willa: "yeah, having mighty Thor as your girlfriend can help when it comes to the afterlife"
Jane: "I don't care. I have you and that's all that matters"
They both kiss
