Pharmacist: Parallax!
I felt a hand on my shoulder and that was the moment I stopped and looked around. It was not that I didn't see the person running towards me. It was more that I didn't quite realized it internally. The fact that this person looked shocked, sad and angry at the same time took me quite by surprise.
Me: Hello Mister Foster.
Foster: Andrew bring him in!
Me: I am fine Mister Foster.
Foster: The hell you are! Andrew help me out come on.
This pharmacist grabbed one of my arms to support mr while his assistance Andrew took the other hand. They both were really nice people and I remember when I saved Mister Fosters life a year back. He was really a nice guy.
Back then my mask was broken and I was more or less finishing my round until I saw some smoke in a house. I didn't know and didn't care who's house this was. All I knew was that someone had to be inside. So before thinking or anything I went towards the house and found out that ut was a pharmacy. The building also had a small run down detective office on the second floor. All in all it was quite the eary house. No one lived in there and people didn't go to this pharmacy nor to the part of this district.
Someone assaulted the detective office and put it on fire. Fortunately no one was in there but the pharmacy downstairs got all the smoke in the warehouse they had further in. Thr vent system was just disturbing it even more.
I knew this pharmacy since personally I would go there each and every time I needed something because I felt pity and wanted to support it. The way it looked run down like my broken body was the reason I first got in.
So I knew that Mister Foster was in there. He would work till very late and earlier in the morning than any other one. He himself was an insomniac.
Once I saw the fire and the smoke I just went in there and ny already broken mask fell off. This was how he saw my face. I saved him back then and from then on he would always try to serve me before anyone else since he was one if the people knowing my secret.
He was a goos man too.
It was honestly such a waste and a tragedy if we would have lost this good soul. Me on the other hand. Well I was useless.
Foster: What happened.
Me: Nothing much...
Foster: Parallax please. If you need any help tell us.
Me: I am fine.
Yogether with his assistance, this kind hearted man brought me inside and back to their resting area. There was also a bed ther where they put me on.
Foster: Can you let us have a look at your wounds?
Me: It's fine.
Andrew: You do know that you are barely walking, right?
Me: I've been through worse.
Foster: Not a reason not to have this checked out.
Me: But I am fine.
Andrew: Bullshit!
Me: *Sigh*
Foster: Andrew get some fresh clothes for him.
Andrew: Should I get the medicine ready?
Foster: I'll do that. You go and buy some decent and soft to the skin clothes for him.
Andrew: On the way. Be right back.
That was how his assistance immediately run hurriedly out of the room. I on the other hand was too tired for everything. It was a wonder that I didn't collapse until now. It wasn't as if I didn't know how badly injured I am but it was the fact that I lost a lot of blood and barely ate anything.
Foster: Can you let me treat you. It's just us now.
Me: It's honestly fine. You don't have to out of your way.
Foster: Kid I am not doing that. I don't have anyone customer anyways.
Me: You won't let me leave, will ya?
Foster: No.
Me: Okay.
I knew that it was useless to struggle since this man was basically firm and never would leave me to go out like this. He was the one kind of man who would extend a helping hand to everyone in need. Still somehoe I felt guilty. I didn't had money to repay him at all and I also knew that he would take it up as an insult if I would try to give him money for the medicine he used on me.
So in the end I was left with no other way then to strip in front of him until I was just wearing underwear. The moment he saw the wounds and what ny mother carved into my skin I heard him gasp.
Foster: Who did this?
Me: ...
Foster: This isn't from when you are out as Parallax is it?
Me: ...
I couldn't tell him.
There was no way I could tell him that this was the doing of my own mother. It hurt to know that. It hurt to know that she was once a sweet carrying woman. It just hurt.
Without realising crocodile teardrops started rolling down my cheek. I couldn't hold it in any longer.
Foster: It's okay kid. You don't have to act strong.
Something about his words made me break even more.
Me: I am sorry Mister Foster.
Foster: It's fine kid. You are still young and what you seen through life is something not even the mist experienced heroes did.
He was there for me in this moment. Just being there and silently treating my wou ds as I cried. He through that it was stinging me whenever he applied cleaning alcohol on my wound. It was wrong. I just never cried but this time I couldn't hold it back. It was as if a dam broke down inside of me.
This man apologized over and over again whenever he cleaned my wounds. Tho I told him I was fine, he knew that I wasn't. In fact everyone would have known this.
While I was crying and this man was treating me there was only one thought in my mind...
It was how pathetic I am.
