The group advanced gradually in the forest. The Scarlet Prince Adventurers walked ahead, scouting the path and searching for signs of the lightning Fennec.
Our lovable idiotic heroes were at the back of the group.
After Delirious attack, the atmosphere of the party had been tense. Scarlet Prince's men were constantly shooting menacing looks to the boys. Karen was doing the same, but with worried looks instead of menacing ones.
At that moment, Herald approached to the three.
Herald: Sir Basically, sir Brock, Sir Delirious, sorry for the trouble Harold's men caused. It was my fault. Next time, I'll make sure of contracting a better party. I hope this incident doesn't affect our friendship.
Brock snorted in disdain inwardly facing this fake apology, but he did not show anything in his face. Instead, he smiled and shook his head.
Moo: Don't worry, I know it's not your fault, young master Herald. Besides, we don't care much about it, for us, they are not more than a joke.
Basically: Yeah, unless they don't step out of the line. Or saying something racist.
Marcel said, the last words he spoke, he said it in a very serious tone.
Herald frowned. For an instant, he felt as though something was wrong, but he could not put a finger on it. In the end, he blamed it on his imagination.
After Herald returned to his sister and Skyler's side, Delirious snorted in disdain.
Delirious: Blah, hypocrite. I don't understand why you still tolerate the bastard..
Basically: We've already explained to you the reason last night, Delirious. We need to know the reason behind this situation.
Delirious: You are right, but I truly want to kill him. I hate backstabbing bastards like him the most. People like him reminds me back from my high school days.
Moo: It's not so easy, my friend.
Brock said with a bitter smile. He could understand Delirious' feelings. When you trust someone completely, but that person betrays you, it's the worst feeling. Delirious felt one before back then, but his also not the only one gets betrayed, like their other friends.
(Not cannon, Delirious is a private man, so we have no clue more about his life)
But Brock knew he could not simply kill the son of a city lord. Not only because if he died now, he and his friends would be the most likely suspects, but also due to the consequences of it.
He and the others did not fear the city lord in the slightest, but they all did not want to be wanted in this kingdom yet.
No matter how he and the two thought about it, that was not a good idea.
Thus, even if they did end up killing Herald or the city lord, they must do it without leaving behind any clue, so they won't be sus.
The group walked for a while. From time on time, they were attacked by beasts, but the strongest was just at the <C-> rank, and the group killed it easily.
Meanwhile, Herald looked at the beast that the three just killed and whistled.
Herald: One-hit kill, again. You all seem like someone used to hunt beasts before.
Basically: We are. We have killed many more beasts than you think.
Basically(Thoughts): In game of course.
Herald nodded. He then looked at Marcel's Netherite sword with a curious light.
Herald: Your sword... is it a magic weapon, right? Does it has a sharpness enchantment?
Basically: Magic weapon? No, but enchantment, absolutely. Sharpness? Yeah, maximum.
Basically(Thoughts): {Sharpness V} and a ton of other broken enchantment shits.
Marcel replied without caring too much. Herald saw it and narrowed his eyes deep in thoughts.
After almost half an hour walking, one of Harold's men stopped in his tracks. One second later, he raised a hand.
Understanding the signal, the entire group stopped and fell silent. The man acting as a scout closed his eyes and concentrated in the sounds on the surroundings using his skill {Echolocation}.
Almost three seconds later, he opened his eyes with a grave look.
SP Member 3: It's here! Protect miss Karen!
Almost instantly, a shadow jumped from the trees at fast speed!
The shadow moved incredibly quickly. One second, it was in the branch of a tree, and in the next second, it was in front of the weakest member of the group, Karen.
But before it could touch her, a dagger suddenly appeared in front of its eyes.
It was Skyler!
At some point, she had instantly disappeared from the group's perception, only to reappear when her dagger was to stab the Fennec fox looking creature.
The lightning Fennec's fur stood up. Its black eyes shone with a surprised glow and its body tensed up.
Facing the unavoidable attack, lightning surged out of its body, engulfing it completely.
The next instant, its body accelerated suddenly, bypassing Skyler's dagger and raising its claw to kill Karen.
But-
*Bam!*
A barrier appeared suddenly, stopping its attack.
Karen turned pale. Despite the barrier on her necklace activating, the fact that the lightning Fennec managed to reach her frightened the young girl.
Herald: Damn beast!
Herald's expression turned ugly. He raised his sword and slashed towards the cat, but the cat just jumped slightly, evading the blow.
Then, it looked at Herald with a mocking look.
Herald's expression darkened. He looked at Harold and bellowed.
Herald: Harold, what in the hell are you doing!?
Harold: Sorry, young master.
Harold apologized in a hurry and stood in front of Karen. At the same time, his three subordinates surrounded the Fennec fox, blocking its escape routes.
The Fennec just narrowed its eyes. It looked at the group with a mocking-like expression.
Basically: Holy shit, its definitely look like Jolteon, electricity type.
Delirious: Yeah, definitely should've bought pokeballs.
The threeobserved the beast carefully. The lightning Fennec was not big, around a German Shepard size, but its body exuded powerful waves of energy. It had lightning-like patterns all over its body, and its eyes showed wisdom seldomly seen in animals.
Just with a look, people knew it was one of the strongest in all of the C-rank beasts. Moreover, as a beast focused on speed, it could easily escape even if it could not win. Possibly could escape from an <A-> rank.
But Harold had come prepared to hunt this beast.
Harold: Ronald, do it!
Ronald: I know, boss!
One of the men nodded and sent mana into a magic crystal on his waist.
Instantly, the spell engraved on the stone was activated.
With a swoosh, a mana barrier was activated, surrounded the lightning Fennec together with the group.
Harold: Alright!
Harold smiled. He then looked at the Fennec Fox with scornful eyes.
The Fox noticed that something was wrong. It immediately charged towards the barrier, trying to escape, but-
*Bam!*
The barrier just shook briefly, stopping the animal's escape.
Harold: You fucking stupid beast, it's a restriction barrier! Even a B-rank needs a bit of effort to break it. And do you think we will give you that chance? Donny!
Donny, the weakest man of the party and at <C> rank, smirked. He aimed a magic bow on his hand towards the Fennec Fox and shot an arrow!
*Woosh!*
*Screech!*
The Fennec fox evaded the arrow and looked at Donny angrily. It then rushed towards him, but Harold appeared in front of it and raised his shield!
*Clang!*
The shield and the claw clashed. But in the end, the shield won. The beast's speed is equivalent to <B+> rank, but its strength is only at level of a <C-> rank, it could not compare to the B-rank shieldwarrior.
*Screech!*
The Fennec cried in rage. It moved its body around the four men, trying to attack them, but the men cooperated flawlessly, attacking the Fox without rushing and slowly tiring it out.
After almost two minutes, the Fennec started to panic.
His attacks became wilder and wilder, but at the same time, they became less effective.
After a while, the Fennec Fox was injured for the first time.
It was just a scratch caused by an arrow, but it was followed by another wound, and another, and another.
In despair, the Fennec Fox tried to find a way to escape. Unfortunately, the barrier stopped it from running away.
When the lightning Fennec realized it was going to die, its eyes turned yellow brightly. It then looked at the group hunting it with hatred in its eyes.
If it was going to die, then it was going to bring some of its enemies with it!
So, when it saw a gap in the four men's formation, it did not hesitate to rush through it.
Straight towards the members of Team 6!
A shrewd light flashed through Harold's eyes. He looked back towards the three and smirked.
In an instant, the Fennec had appeared in front of the three!
Marcel snorted in disdain towards Harold's petty tricks. He held his Netherite sword on his hands and fixed his gaze on the lightning Fennec, which it is hard to look at cause of its speed, but thanks to his enhance senses, he could still sense its speed a little.
But someone moved first.
Delirious: I've got the biggest 'Snort'!
Delirious(Thoughts): Damn it, did it again. I was suppose to say Sword but I just mistaken the word again, fuck.
Delirious thought, but he just continue to smiled and drank a potion of Swiftness before took a step forward. He clenched his Diamond sword with two hands.
When the Lightning Fennec reached him, Delirious swings his sword everything he got.
Delirious: YEET!
The next instant, the maniac human and the Pokemon like beast clashed.
*Boom!*
A terrifying shockwave struck the surroundings. The trees around them shook fiercely, and some of them were unrooted completely.
Then-
*Screech!*
The lightning Fennec cried in pain. It was thrown back a few meters and crashed against the ground, leaving behind blood splattered on the floor alongside a very long cut in its abdomen.
Delirious smiled. His arms had turned bloody, but it recovered quickly thanks to the Healing potion he drank. In seconds, the injure caused by the lightning Fennec was no more.
The lightning Fennec, on the other hand, walked out of the crater limping. One of its legs had been almost destroyed.
Delirious' friends whistled in admiration. Delirious' brute force was truly incredible. Even with little training, they somehow got stronger for some reason.
The lightning Fennec stared at Delirious in fear. It could not understand how this human, 1/3 weaker than em was so strong.
Now that Delirious had heavily injured it, the lightning Fennec was truly out of options.
Harold and Herald were dumbfounded, but before they could react to the situation, Delirious moved...
He kicked the ground and charged towards the lightning Fennec with his Diamond sword in the air.
The lightning Fennec panicked. It jumped aside hurriedly to evade the hit and retreated in panic.
But Delirious just smirked. He took out a plasma pistol and fired.
*PEW!*
The lightning Fennec was shot, the force of the energy bullet pushed it against the ground, creating another blood splattered around it.
But this time, the lightning Fennec was unable to stand up again.
Delirious stretched her neck and looked at the lightning Fennec and then at Harold's group with a disappointed look.
Delirious: So fucking damn weak, I was expecting more after I saw you guys having so much trouble fighting it. I guess you guys are weaker than zombies.
Harold's face flushed in embarrassment. Hearing Delirious' words, he was regretting allowing the lightning Fennec to attack them.
In truth, the only reason Delirious finished it so easily was that Harold's group had already tired it out. Moreover, Delirious first blow was stronger than the animal expected, injuring it critically.
In a normal condition, Delirious would have found it very hard to win against it.
Delirious walked towards the animal on the ground and lifted it. The Fennec looked at Delirious with a pitiful and begging look.
Delirious: Aww, don't give me those puppy eyes 😞
He stared at the Fennec with pitiful look before carrying it in a baby carry.
[You caught a Lightning Fennec!]
*Pokemon successful catch theme music*
As Delirious holds the Fennec, he patted its head, the Fennec notice the human its sparring em.
Lightning Fennec: ^w^
Moo: Awww, Delirious just got a pet now!
Basically: Hm, I guess our fantasy adventure will be even more interesting.
As the two, Scarlet Prince's party, Herald, and Karen watch Delirious kept patting the Fox, he then held its neck and-
*Crack!*
With an unpleasant sound, the animal died.
Basically: ⊙Д⊙
Moo: ⊙Д⊙
Herald: ⊙Д⊙
Karen: ⊙Д⊙
Harold: ⊙Д⊙

Xavier: e.e .................... bruh.
Everyone....literally everyone turned pale seeing that scene. Karen even felt she was about to throw up.
For an instant, they felt a bit of fear towards Delirious indifferent expression when he killed the animal.
But Delirious just gave a confuse look at the Fennec's corpse.
Delirious: O_o Hm? I expect there some experience or loots, is it not? Nah, what a waste.
Delirious then looked at Herald with a bored look before throwing the lightning Fennec towards him.
Delirious: Can we go back now? I'm pretty hungry.
Herald: Y-Yes, of course.
Herald stuttered briefly and replied. He then flushed in embarrassment when he realized he was intimidated by Delirious' aura.
Herald looked at Harold and signaled something to him with his gaze. Harold nodded and removed the barrier.
So, with one of Harold's men carrying the lightning Fennec's corpse, the group started their return trip.
As Delirious return to his friends, they all gave him serious look.
Moo: Why the hell did you kill it?
Basically: Bruh... thats cruel.
Delirious: What? I thought there is some loots or stuff.
Basically: We're not in a fucking game, remember dipshit? Fuck, you just tame the creature and now you just literally throw it away!
Delirious: 😐 Oh.
Basically: Whatever, let us go.
Like that, they left.
4 minutes after that incident, before they exited the forest, Brock's lips curved up.
Moo: Guys, did you notice?
Basically: Of course, Brock, I've already noticed them a few minutes ago.
Moo nodded. He then looked at Delirious, still not happy about that incident.
Moo: It looks like today's main course is here.
Delirious: So they attacked after all?
Marcel nodded.
Basically: I can feel a group of people approaching us from all directions. They are very stealthy, but nobody can escape the stealth drones I set up.
Although the three detected the enemies, they did not show it in their faces. Marcel observed Herald and Harold carefully, and as expected, they were looking at each other, very sus.
At that moment, Skyler looked in Marcel's direction briefly. Marcel noticed it and innocently smiled at her.
Skyler furrowed her brows and looked away.
In that tense atmosphere, the group continued walking, all of them waiting for the moment to strike.
Unexpectedly, though, the men did not attack immediately. Instead, they waited silently for their signal.
Where the exit of the forest finally appeared in sight, Karen smiled.
Karen: Finally out, I was already tired.
As soon as her words sounded, the shadows descended from the trees.
