(In honor of one of my most liked stories Soulmates being released a little over a year ago now. I meant to put this out a week ago but I wasn't able to finish it in time)
Alexei: "I don't want to go"
Nat: "I know but we have to. We haven't seen them in years. Even before you were born"
Alexei: "why not?"
Avery: "because it's been hard"
Alexei: "but I don't want to go"
Nat: "you'll like them. Do you want to know something"
Alexei: "what?"
Nat: "you are named after your grandpa"
Alexei: "why?"
Avery: "because we liked the name"
Nat: "and because he means a lot to me"
Avery: "if you don't want to stay long, we don't have to"
Alexei: "promise"
Nat: "we promise"
Alexei: "mommy"
Nat: "yes Alexei?"
Alexei: "can we take Liho?"
Nat: "no we can't"
Alexei: "but mommy"
Nat: "I'm sorry Alexei"
Alexei: "momma"
Avery: "you heard mommy, we can't bring Liho as much as you want to"
Alexei pouts
Avery: "you can spend time with her when we get back"
Nat: "We have to head out now if we want to be there in time"
Avery: "come on Alexei"
Avery picks up the 5-year-old and walks to the car. She buckles up Alexei and walks to the passenger side of the car. Avery gets in and Natasha gets into the driver's side
Nat: "we're good to go?"
Avery: "Yeah we are"
An hour and a half later
Natasha opens the car door
Nat: "come on Alexei"
Alexei: "but mommy"
Nat: "it will be fun, I promise you"
Alexei: "no!"
Avery shuts the trunk and walks over to Natasha
Avery: "does he not want to get out?"
Nat: "yup... he's really stubborn"
Avery: "wonder where he gets it from"
Nat: "why are you so mean to me?"
Avery chuckles
Avery: "here"
She tosses Natasha a bag
Nat: "ow, that hurt"
Avery: "sorry"
She chuckles
Avey walks over to Alexei and crouches in front of him
Avery: "come on Alexei. I know you don't want to be here but the quicker we say him, the quicker we can get home and spend time with Liho. come on"
She unbuckles Alexei and picks him up
Nat: "of course, you're momma's boy"
Avery chuckles and kisses Alexei's cheek
Avery: "sorry baby"
Nat: "I hate you"
Avery: "love you too"
She shuts the car door and Natasha locks the car
They walk over ot the front door and knock on it. A few seconds later the door opens
Melina: "Natasha"
Nat: "hey Melina"
They both hug
]melina: "Avery, it is nice to see you again"
Avery: "it's nice seeing you as well Melina"
Melina: "and this is Alexei"
Alexei digs his face into Avery's neck
Avery: "I'm sorry about that"
Melina: "it is fine, come in"
They all walk into the house and to the living room
Melina: "they are here"
Yelena: "Natasha!"
She gets up and rushes over to her sister, hugging her
Nat: "hey"
Yelena: "it's been years, why haven't you visited me?"
Nat: "I've been super busy these past couple of years"
Yelena laughs
Avery: "Yelena?"
Yelena: "Avery?"
Avery: "oh my god"
Nat: "you've both met before?"
Yelena: "Avery helped me in the red room. She was like my big sister after the mission in Ohio"
Avery: "I can't believe it"
They both laugh
Alexei: "who is that momma?"
Alexei whispers
Avery: "This is your aunt. Aunt Yelena"
Alexei looks at Yelena
Yelena: "hi"

Alexei: "are they here yet?"
Melina: "yes they are"
Alexei: "Natasha"
He hugs Natasha
Alexei: "and this is the wife we've heard about so much"
Avery smiles
Alexei: "it's nice to meet you Avery"
Avery: "it's nice to meet you as well Alexei"
Melina: "come one, let's head outside"
Now outside in the backyard
Little Alexei and big Alexie are playing together while all the women talk
Yelena: "is he biologically yours?"
Avery: "he's biologically Natasha's"
Melina: "I thought you both were sterilized during the graduation ceremony?"
Avery: "I was but Natasha wasn't"
Nat: "I escaped before I went through the graduation ceremony"
Avery: "I wasn't so lucky"
Natahs squeezes her hand
Nat: "even though he's biologically mine, he favorites this one more"
She nudges Avery
Avery: "he's stubborn with her but does what I say with ease"
They all laugh
Melina: "he's very energetic isn't he"
Avery: "at the house, he loves running around and loves playing with or cat Liho"
Nat: "since he was born, they were both instantly best friends"
Avery: "we would have to drag Liho out of Alexei's nursery at times"
Nat: "yet he still found his way inside"
They all laugh again
30 minutes go by
Melina and older Alexei go inside to prepare the food
Natasha, Avery, and Yelena continue talking
Alexei: "momma, momma play with me"
Avery: "okay Alexei"
Avery: I will be back
Alexei grabs Avery's hand and drags Avery to the small pond in the backyard
Natasha and Yelena go back to talking while Alexei and Avery play
Yelena: "so what's it like being a mom now?"
Nat: "it's great, it's nice. It's nice having a little one run around the house even though at times he drives Av and me insane"
Yelena laughs
Yelena: "sooo"
Nat: "so what?"
Yelena: "did it hurt?"
Nat: "Did what hurt?"
Yelena: "you know, having Alexei"
Nat: "no, it was great. I felt great and wasn't in pain for almost 35 hours"
Yelena: "one thing I'm glad about not being able to have kids"
Natasha punches Yelena's arm
An hour Later
Alexei: "Aunt Lena"
Yelena: "yes?"
Alexei: "can you play with me, please"
Yelena: "of course"
They walk away to play
Nat: "got tired of playing with you?"
Avery: "yeah and I'm a bit tired. Besides, I think he should spend time with his aunt"
Nat: "sounds good"
She kisses Avery's temple
Avery and Natasha look over at Yelena who is chasing Alexei throughout the yard
Avery: "I thought you said Yelena wasn't a kids person"
Nat: "she isn't"
Avery: "I guess Alexei changed her mind"
They both laugh
Melina: "do you think you will have more children?"
They all look over at Alexei who is chasing Yelena with a water gun in his hand
Nat: "I don't think so"
Avery: "one is already enough"
The four adults laugh
Back home
Natasha: "come on Alexei"
She picks up a half-asleep Alexei and carries him to his bedroom
Natasha places him in his bed and pulls the blankets over him
She kisses Alexei's forehead and places his stuffed animal next to him
Nat: "ночь мой маленький паучок (night my little spider)"
Alexei: "Liho?"
Avery: she's right here"
Avery places Liho next to Alexei and Liho curls into a ball next to Alexei
Avery: "спокойной ночи мой малыш (good night my little one)"
Alexei: "ночь мама, мама (night momma, mommy)"
Natasha and Avery walk out of Alexei's room. They walk over to their bedroom
Natasha looks at Avery and kisses her
Avery: "what was that for?"
Nat: "no reason, just because I wanted to do it. I love you"
Avery: "i love you too"
Nat: "let's get some sleep, it's been a long day"
