Bakugo suspected something was wrong the moment he saw Deku. On the surface, to anyone who hadn't known him since forever, he looked fine. He looked happy and comfortable, as he usually did.

But Bakugo could see every little detail. Everything that made today different than the rest. He noticed the way Izuku's shoulder's were a bit more slumped, his cheeks were a little paler, his freckles seemed to stand out even more against a paler canvas.

Izuku waved him over happily, "Katsuki!!" He said happily, leaning over to pat his empty desk next to him in a motion for him to come sit. He almost fell over doing so.

He walked over with a grin and ruffled his boyfriend's green mop of hair, "idiot." He said jokingly. Izuku smiled back at him, but before he could get in a how's your morning been? or did you finish the homework? Bakugo asked first.

"Nerd," he said a little quieter, "are you okay?" He asked. Izuku cocked his head a little bit, before laughing, "only you would realize I was feeling a little under the weather."

"You're feeling sick?" Bakugo asked gruffly, "then why are you-"

Izuku hit him over the head lightly and jokingly, "no it's just allergies or something! I'm fine. I can tell its nothing really serious, I wouldn't want to get anyone else sick." he said. That didn't change the fact that he seemed to have gotten paler and his posture wasn't getting any better.

By the time lunch got around Bakugo was seriously concerned. He tapped Izuku, "hey you." He said. Izuku didn't respond for a minute, "let's go to lunch." He croaked out. His throat sounded tight and his movements were stiff. It looked like if he moved the wrong way he might puke.

"No Izuku you look horrible." Bakugo said bluntly. "What do you mean?" Izuku asked shakily. He was so pale he looked green.

"You're shaking." Bakugo pointed out. Izuku didn't deny it, "okay so I'm not feeling gr-" he stopped mid sentence, growing more green, "I-" he began, but Bakugo was already pushing him towards the door down the hall and to the bathroom.

He pushed Izuku into a stall where he tried to deny himself, "Kacchan- just cause I feel nauseous doesn't mean I'm gonna throw up." He said, swallowing harshly. The thought of it was enough to make him gag.

"In this case it does. Theres no way you aren't going to." Bakugo said, kneeling next to him.

"People are gonna think we are making out in here." Izuku said quietly, just before he gagged. He quickly leaned over the toilet.

Bakugo rubbed his back, "you're okay. Don't panic. I know you hate being sick don't panic." He was surprisingly comforting.

"Shit." Izuku was mumbling.

Shit

Shit

Shit.

Fucking shit.

Izuku hated throwing up. He despised throwing up. He hated the nausea, he hated the sweat and the tears and the taste and the feel oh God he-

His spiral of panic was interupted. Bakugo knew it was gonna happen before Izuku did. While rubbing his back he could feel the boy's body tensing and preparing, shaking and sweating. He felt Izuku's body react before he himself realized that he was throwing up.

He vomited again, brown watery, sour liquid forced itself up his throat and out his mouth and he recalled how he would rather have diarrhea for a week than throw up once. Tears were streaming down his face and his skin was shiny with sweat from a newly raging fever.

He heard Bakugo trying to get his attention. He didn't know how long he hadn't been responding. Oh god he hated being sick.

"Izuku!" Bakugo said, raising his voice, "dude you keep zoning out. No one is mad at you for being sick. I'm not mad at you for being sick. You're- shit are you gonna throw up again?" He asked.

Izuku just nodded as he pulled himself over the toilet again. He hated this. He hated feeling like this. His stomach felt so full and it hurt to breath. He couldn't seem to gag. He just sat there, overwhelmingly nauseous.

He felt Bakugo shift behind him and rub his stomach. He heard it growl and groan.

"You are super bloated." Bakugo said. Izuku couldn't physically reply, if he opened his mouth he might throw up. He opted for nodding.

Izuku opened his mouth and let out a gurgling burp. Katsuki could hear the vomit trying to rise in the back of his throat. He could hear him fighting it.

"Dude you can't stop yourself from throwing up. You need to let it happen." He said sternly. Izuku burped again and Bakugo cringed. He saw liquid dripping from his mouth.

He could feel Izuku's stomach tense as he gagged again. Bakugo watched as he coughed up a bit of whatever was bothering his stomach. But it was nowhere near what he clearly needed to discard.

He was sobbing. His breathing was off. Izuku was not doing well.

"You need to breath." He said, rubbing his tummy, "zuku you have to breathe."

Izuku was taking gasping breaths. But the second he seemed to have a handle on himself he gagged, and then vomited.

Bakugo scooted back slightly as the boy heaved. He could tell he needed space. He was most definitely, very sick.

"Izuku?" He asked once he was finished, "I'm gonna go get Mr. Aizawa."

Izuku flushed the toilet and slumped over, leaning against the wall of the stall, "mkay." He slurred. He didn't look healthy.

"I'll be right back." Bakugo said as he pushed his way out of the stall. He ran all the way to the teachers lounge and called for Aizawa.

"He's-" he said, gasping for breath, "he's sick I don't know what's wrong but it's serious."

"Who's sick? What do you mean serious?" Aizawa asked as he got up and followed Bakugo to where Izuku was.

"Izuku. He threw up like 4 times, but he hates being sick, and I mean like, hates it. and he had a bad panic attack and he just seemed overly tired. I don't think he's breathing right." He said in a rush.

Aizawa nodded and pushed into the bathroom to find Izuku, still in the same place, leaning against the wall of the stall, his eyes barely open.

When the stall door opened, he brightened up a bit, "mr aizawa?" He asked.

"Yeah it's me kid. It's me. How do you feel?" Aizawa asked kneeling down next to him and feeling his forehead, "you're burning up."

"I don't feel great." Izuku said, closing his eyes momentarily, "Im sick I think."

"You're definitely sick. What do you feel?" Aizawa asked.

"I threw up and I was super nauseous. Dizzy, hot, chills, a headache, and a cough. I'm also really really tired." Izuku said, "can I just- go to bed? I didn't think this was gonna happen." He said, trailing off at the last part.

Aizawa sighed, "alright kid. Let's get you to your dorm." he grabbed Izuku's clammy hand and helped him up, he wobbled dizzily, swaying left and right.

He was holding onto Aizawa for dear life.

"I'm-" he was beginning to get nauseous again, "I'm really dizzy." He said weakly, wheezing slightly. Bakugo came and wrapped his arm under his armpits, basically keeping him upright.

He leaned into Bakugo more than Aizawa, feeling much more comfortable passing out into his arms than his teacher. Halfway there Izuku had to ask for a break. He was nauseous, dizzy, and oh so sweaty.

"I feel so sick." He said quietly.

"Are you gonna be sick again?" Bakugo asked.

"For sure at some point. Not now but at the rate things are going now within the next hour." He said dreadfully.

"Let's get you back to your dorm then." Aizawa said, "we're almost there." Izuku nodded and stood up unsteadily. Bakugo took his shoulder again.

Midoriya insisted that they would make it find and that Aizawa could go back to class.

The moment Midoriya got in his dorm he gagged, pushed out of Bakugo's arms, and pulled himself over his desk trashcan to vomit.

"Shit- Izuku? You're okay." Bakugo said, kneeling next to the puking boy. He used a couple pieces of tissue to wipe the rancid brown liquid off his mouth before also throwing that in the trashcan.

"Feel better?" Bakugo asked. Izuku nodded silently and got up to brush his teeth.

Bakugo went to get him water and medicine from downstairs. When he came back he didn't find Izuku in bed, but laying down on the bathroom floor, shivering.

He huffed halfheartedly and set the stuff down, "you are incapable of doing anything when you're alone aren't you." Bakugo asked rhetorically.

"Yes." Izuku answered anyways as Bakugo helped him (carried him) to bed. It was a treacherous journey but Izuku prevailed and made it to the safety of his covers.

Bakugo stuck a thermometer in his mouth.

"102 you are definitely sick with something."

"What are you, a doctor?" Izuku joked, pushing his limits a bit.

"Just because you're sick doesn't mean you get to say whatever you want." Bakugo said, shooting him a daring smile..

Izuku laughed. And his laugh quickly turned into a fit of hoarse, painful coughs. Bakugo handed him a bottle of water afterwards and told him to take Advil as well. Fever reducers, painkillers, somehow if would help.

Izuku layed down afterwards. Katsuki climbed under the covers next to him.

"You're gonna get sick." Izuku mumbled. Bakugo pulled him closer, holding him against his chest, "I don't care."

Izuku rolled over and burrowed into Katsuki's arms, finding comfort in the rare, gentle touch of his boyfriend. He fell asleep quickly.

For hours Bakugo lay there, rubbing Izuku's back, knowing it was a bit too warm. He didn't think Izuku was going to wake up, but he should've known better.

He woke up with a groan, sitting himself up. Bakugo sat up with him.

"Fuck." Deku said. He never cussed unless he was really stressed out.

"What?" Bakugo asked, "are you okay?"

"Gon' throw up." he said, swallowing with a fist sealing his mouth closed. He pushed himself past Katsuki and towards the bathroom. Bakugo was barely able to help before Izuku spewed in the middle of the room.

It came spilling over his hands and spraying out of the corners of his tightly sealed mouth.

"Ah shit," Bakugo cursed to himself, "c'mon c'mon to the bathroom." He said, ushering Izuku towards the dorm's toilet.

Izuku latched his gummy hands on and vomited again, heaving loudly as Bakugo ran his fingers through the boy's sweaty green hair.

"You're okay." He coaxed as more puke was pushed from Izuku's upset stomach. He made it very obvious when he was finished by falling backwards into Bakugo's arms and wiping his mouth.

"Hate this for me." Izuku said, "hate being sick." He coughed into his elbow. Bakugo felt the boy wheeze a bit after, safe to say that was really concerning.

"Chest hurts." He mumbled, holding the center of his chest and taking a wheezy breath.

"What? How does it hurt?" Bakugo asked seriously.

Izuku coughed, "sharp pain." He took a wheeze, "I really-" he took another shallow breath, "can't breath right." He took an unsteady, wheezy breath.

"You need- you need help." Bakugo said, "Recovery Girl? You need to go Recovery Girl." He said, "she'll know what to do." Izuku was launched into another painful coughing fit.

"I'll be right back. I'll be back. Just hold on." He said, panic setting in. He sprinted down to Iida's room and knocked until he opened the door.

"Four e-" he paused, "Iida I need your help." He was nearly in tears. Iida had never seen Bakugo so genuinely distraught.

"Bakugo what's wrong? Are you ok?" He asked, pushing his glasses up slightly.

"Izuku- he's sick he needs-" he didn't want to cry. He couldn't cry now. He couldn't cry now.

He hiccuped and before he knew it there were tears rolling down his face, "He's sick he's not breathing right, I need you to take him down- fast." He was stumbling over his words. Like an idiot.

Iida pulled him into a hug. Bakugo didn't struggle. He let Iida hug him until he was able to calm down.

"Midoriya needs help." Iida said, "I can help."

They ran back to Izuku's dorm. They could hear him coughing. They found him sitting on the bathroom floor, his back to the wall in front of the toilet, his breathing a consistent, panicked wheeze.

Iida scooped him up, told him to remain calm, that he would be able to breath soon, and then ran to Recovery Girl using his quirk.

Bakugo cleaned up the puddle of vomit in the middle of the room, and then met them there a couple minutes later. He found Izuku with an IV and an oxygen mask. Recovery Girl was all over him, taking his temperature, blood pressure, a speedy checkup as she typed his symptoms into a computer.

When Izuku spotted Bakugo he reached out to him weakly, "Kacchan." He whispered, seeking some kind of comfort in this unexpected and uncomfortable situation.

Bakugo rushed over, he could feel strands of his stiff blonde hair coming loose into his face as he walked over and took Izuku's hand. He couldn't really find the words to express genuine concern. So all he said was:

"Hey."

"Hi." Izuku mumbled. Guilt was written all over his face. You could tell he felt awful physically and mentally for putting people through this. "I am so sorry." He whispered, his voice daring to crack under the tears welling up in his eyes.

"No no no you are not allowed to be sorry. You had no idea it was gonna get this bad." Bakugo said seriously, squeezing his hand. Izuku took a shallow inhale before speaking again, his voice shaking, "I didn't think any-" he hiccuped, "any of this was going to happen. I didn't feel this bad this morning!"

He coughed again, clutching his chest as he did. Recovery Girl ran over, Bakugo scooted over, Izuku was squeezing his hand, tight.

"You're okay. Just breathe. Just breathe." She said. Bakugo cringed as his boyfriend coughed and coughed. It sounded horrible. It was runny and Bakugo watched in horror as mucus came dripping into Izuku's hands.

Recovery Girl helped him clean up and gave him a glass of water. She then ran back over to her computer and was clicking away for something or other.

Bakugo helped Izuku lay back down, still holding hands. Bakugo ran his thumb over Izuku's hand and watched his heart monitor nervously. He suddenly seemed so fragile.

He always saw Izuku as strong, especially once he got his quirk. He regretted the way he treated him when he was younger, he wished he had helped him more than hurt him. He didn't deserve someone as caring and forgiving as Izuku. And Izuku definitely didn't deserve whatever shit was fucking up his body now.

He was deteriorating so quickly. It was horrific. He had gone from feeling slightly off earlier to being unable to breath right without a steady stream of oxygen being provided to him.

Bakugo sighed, full of worry, and brought his forehead to Izuku's hand, resting it there. Izuku looked over, "Katsuki I'm fine. I'm gonna be fine. I'm just not feeling so well right now." He said, coughing slightly at the end.

Both of their heads turned as Aizawa walked in, nodded to recovery girl, and then walked over, sitting next to Izuku's bed.

"Hey kid, how you feeling?" He asked.

Izuku coughed, he was getting paler, "not... Not great." He mumbled.

"Understandable. We're you exposed to anyone sick recently?" He asked. Izuku shook his head, "I havnt even gone out recently. I did some volunteer work last week- but that's the only thing I can think. I only started feeling off today."

Aizawa nodded, "so whatever you have, it's either a freak thing, or it's not contagious." He said. Izuku did not look well, "yeah." Was all he said.

Izuku was upset. Why did he begin to feel super sick the second Aizawa walked in. It's fine. He would just wait it out. He would leave soon.

He wasn't stupid. He could tell that niether teacher was exactly sure what was wrong. Recovery Girl thought it was pneumonia, but was having a lot of trouble getting him tested for it without transferring him to a hospital. She knew the last thing he wanted to do was get in a car and stay in a hospital when he could be recovering in a place where he's much more comfortable.

At this point he didn't care. He felt so sick he just wanted it to be better. He wanted to breathe easily again and he wanted the nausea to stop.

Izuku zoned back in and found Aizawa talking to Recovery Girl. Katsuki was looking at him, clearly very worried. God. He hated this.

He squeezed Katsuki's hand, "I need bathroom." He said nervously, his heart was racing and he swallowed harshly. He watched Katsuki glance up at his IV pole and oxygen mask. Izuku tore the mask off, and began to get up.

The contents of his stomach shifted and he grew visibly pale. Bakugo pulled a trashcan over. They both knew he wasn't gonna make it to the bathroom.

Recovery Girl and Aizawa turned around just as Izuku gagged for the first time. They saw Bakugo completely out of character, trying to keep him calm.

Izuku was visibly distressed as he vomited into the trashcan. He had picked up sporadic, uneven wheezing. Recovery Girl was at his side as he heaved again.

He sat up when he was finished, his whole body shaking, tears rolling down his face. He let out a sob and Bakugo set the trashcan down, climbed up on the bed, and pulled him into his arms.

Izuku calmed down quickly there. Bakugo most definitely let his teacher and nurse know he was concerned with this behavior with a strategically planned look. It's all in the eyebrows.

Recovery Girl handed Izuku a mint and helped him strap the oxygen mask back on. Izuku heald onto Katsuki's sleeve, not allowing him to leave the bed.

Soon he was asleep. Katsuki laid next to him, rubbing his thumb over the back of his hand again.

Aizawa left at Recovery Girl's command, going out to get something or other that would help diagnose and get treatment for Izuku. But for now he was stuck. All they could do was treat his symptoms.

For the next four hours Izuku was in and out of sleep, still restful in Bakugo's arms. He noticed how his temperature had only increased. He was sweaty, and yet his body reacted like it was freezing.

Katsuki tended to a cool cloth on his forehead, rewetting it whenever needed and running his hands through Izuku's sweaty green hair.

Aizawa finally made it back from the hospital. Izuku was still asleep.

Diagnostic procedure needed to take place. Bakugo woke him up, shaking him gently, coaxing him into the land of the living with soft spoken words and an assisting touch.

Recovery Girl did the blood work that would ultimately tell them the problem, and then tell them if he needed to be transferred into more consistent care.

No one was sure what to do, not even Aizawa or Recovery Girl. His condition had worsened so quickly. Niether of them knew if this was just his body burning through the worst of the illness, or if there was something very serious happening.

In the end Recovery Girl was correct, non-contiguous pneumonia. They were safe from suffering his same fate.

Now the debate was how to help. The discussion barely had time to start before Izuku mumbled something inaudibley.

"What'd you say?" Bakugo asked softly.

"Sick." He said, speaking up a bit louder and sitting up, leaning over and peeling his oxygen mask off quickly. He gagged unproductively as Bakugo scrambled for the trashcan.

Izuku dry heaved over it. There was next to nothing left for him to throw up. His body lurched again as his stomach forced out as much as it could.

Everyone cringed slightly as the remainder of what was in Izuku's stomach splat into the trashcan, making the bag crinkle under the weight of it.

Izuku shook his head afterwards, grabbing the trashcan. Everything was spinning and he felt incredibly nauseous again.

He leaned back forward and vomited content no one knew he had left in him. After a couple more empty gags he wiped his mouth, accepted a mint, leaned back, and nearly fell back asleep.

Instead of resting in his boyfriend's arms, he found himself being kept awake.

"Midoriya. You have a non-contiguous type of pneumonia. We've determined it's not from a quirk, but you picked it up from somewhere recently. Do you want to go to the hospital?" Recovery Girl asked seriously.

Izuku groaned. He didn't want to do anything but sleep to be honest.

Recovery Girl spoke up again, "it'll be easier for them to treat you there, but we can treat you here."

Izuku didn't answer. He wasn't really thinking straight. All he did was lean farther into Katsuki's shoulder. Bakugo spoke to him next, "Izu I think you should go to the hospital.'

"Mkay." He said sleepily, "as long as you come I don't care." He said. Bakugo looked up at his teachers for approval. They both shrugged, as to say, "why not?"

And that was that. Bakugo carried him to Aizawa's car and they drove to the hospital. Recovery Girl arranged for a room to be prepared for him.

When he arrived he was completely asleep. He was quickly reattached to an IV pole and an oxygen mask. But now he was being pumped with antibiotics.

Eventually Bakugo fell asleep too. Rightfully so. It had been a very stressful day, and he'd been awake for all of it.

He slept through Izuku waking up, eating and drinking, and falling back asleep. The next time their rests were disturbed is when Izuku woke up, jamming the nurse's button, attempting not to wake up Bakugo. It didn't work. He woke up anyways.

A nurse came running in.

Bakugo looked over and found Izuku, awake, looking alive, very pale and biting the insides of his cheeks, trying relentlessly to keep everything in his stomach down.

He failed

He gagged, biting his cheeks harder, swallowing it back. The nurse handed him one of those skinny blue bags that never seem to have a wide enough landing area.

But at that point, it was enough. Izuku grabbed it, threw off his oxygen mask, and stuck his mouth right inside.

He burped grotesquely. It gurgled and Bakugo could hear the vomit travelling up his throat. A moment later he vomited.

Izuku didn't peel the bag off his mouth, instead his heaved again. The sight of it was disgusting. A pile of his own sick weighed down the blue bag and the sound made Bakugo a bit queasy himself.

One more round of vomiting and Izuku was done. He must've thrown up everything he had recently eaten.

Bakugo was awake enough now to realize that Izuku was awake as well. More awake than he had been since this morning, he had risen out of his daze a bit and was shaking quite aggressively, crocodile tears were streaming down his face and he was hiccuping unevenly.

Katsuki silently wrapped his arms around the boy. Izuku leaned into him, calming down as his back was rubbed and he listened to the heartbeat and breathing of his blonde partner. Katsuki had no idea how much he was appreciated. How much he had helped today.

Izuku was sleepy again. Bakugo was too.

Izuku laid down, Katsuki followed his lead. The green haired boy pulled his partner closer on the small hospital bed and gave him a soft, sleepy kiss on the forehead.

"Thank you, Katsuki." He whispered.

Bakugo smiled tenderly back.

Then they both fell asleep, holding eachother. Izuku would recover just fine.
