He wakes up in Taehyung's bed or rather his bed or is it their bed now? Today is his first morning in Kim Mansion and it's also Christmas! Jungkook got some packers and movers to move all his stuff from his rented apartment to Kim Mansion. He thought he would be excited but also nervous and he thought he would take some time adjusting in the new setting but apparently not. Taehyung had everything ready to make him feel at home.
A study room was set up with book shelves and workspace for Jungkook to work for as long as he wanted because Taehyung knew he works till late.
Taehyung had his walk-in closet rearranged to empty half of it for Jungkook. Gym well equipped for the boyfriend who likes to workout. Cooks well informed about what he likes or doesn't like. Taehyung wanted to make sure Jungkook is comfortable and taken care of.
Jungkook looks for the older as soon as he wakes up. He isn't around. "Hyung? Morning! Where you at?". He goes downstairs after showering only to be amazed by the Christmassy decor. The whole place is decorated in red and white.
"Woah! Is there going to be a party?", he asks Maria.
"There's always a party in Kim Mansion during holiday season", Maria adds, "Breakfast?"
"Sure", Jungkook smiles, "Where's hyung?"
"Office."
"On Christmas?!"
"On Christmas", Maria chuckles.
"What bullshit!", Jungkook mutters before calling his boyfriend. "WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU?", he yells.
"Stop yelling Koo. I am at the Office".
"WHY? IT'S CHRISTMAS!"
"Just a little something that I needed to get done before the party tonight".
"And why didn't you tell me there was a party?"
"I did".
"When?"
"Last night babe!"
"No you didn't"
"Jungkook, I did".
"Whatever. Who is coming?"
"Everyone"
"Who is everyone?"
"Every business tycoon in Korea, industrialists, artists, friends".
"WHAT?"
"You are yelling again".
"I.."
"What happened Jungkook?"
"Nothing", he says in a rather gloomy voice.
"Talk"
"I thought it was just going to be us".
"Koo, I know but people look forward to this party all year long. It's important for business. Okay?"
"O-kay".
"After everyone is gone, it will just be us. We can have a late night Christmas party. Okay?"
"Okay"
"You know I am not there but I can still picture you pouting", Taehyung chuckles.
"You said we were going to keep our relationship hidden from people but invited the whole city here. Am I supposed to stay in the room?"
"Oh God! Ofcourse not. You will be here. Meet everyone. We just won't tell them about us. Be a friend tonight?"
"A friend?"
"Uh-huh"
"I just realised, I have never been your friend".
"Never", Taehyung chuckles again.
"I was your employee and then your boyfriend but never your friend".
"Tonight would be the time then. Also, can you do me a favour?"
"What?"
"Be nice to Jimin?"
"Can I invite Jin Hyung?"
"Ofcourse you can! It's your house as well. Remember?"
"And Namjoon hyung"
"Babe-", Taehyung stutters a little.
"My house right?", Jungkook chuckles.
"Yes, invite whosoever you want".
"Fine. Will invite both of them then".
"Be nice to Jimin?"
"You be nice to Namjoon hyung?"
"Deal"
"Deal"
......
"Mr. Kim, great party as always!", Mr. Hwang, one of the biggest industrialists in Seoul, exclaims in excitement.
"Thank you, Mr. Hwang! I am glad you could come!", Taehyung smiles politely.
"So, tell me. How is business? What is going on?"
"It's Kim Consolidated you are talking about", Taehyung smiles.
"Right! It's always sunny in KC!", Mr. Hwang laughs. "Oh! Here. Meet my daughter Jennie".
"Hello Mr. Kim", Jennie smiles, shaking his hand. "I am Jen-".
"Who doesn't know you Jennie!", Taehyung smiles back, "The popular singer".
"Humbled!", she smiles.
.....
"So you guys are keeping it a secret AFTER you moved in with him?", Jin asks Jungkook in the same party.
"Yeah.."
"Why?"
"It's just safe this way".
"Really? And we are goint to have a long conversation later about how you didn't tell me earlier"
"Forget it hyung! Where is your boyfriend?", the younger tries to avert the topic, feeling nervous.
"He was busy. Couldn't make it".
"Ah! I see"
"Don't see this Kookie, see that!", Jin points to the other side of the hall where Taehyung stood talking and laughing with a beautiful woman.
"Wher-", Jungkook stops when he sees the both of them together, laughing. He recognizes Jennie instantly. He has been a fan but then he watches her touch Taehyung's shoulder while talking to him. Very touchy, he thinks.
"This is what happens when you don't tell the world who you belong to", Jin whispers in his cousin's ear.
"They are just talking, hyung", Jungkook deadpans trying to hide the fact that he was half jealous half pissed off.
......
"Dance?", Jennie asks Taehyung.
"I don't dance Ms. Hwang", Taehyung smiles politely.
"Really? It's just dance. Also, it's rude to deny a dance proposal from a guest. That too a lady!"
"You sure are dramatic, Jennie."
"I am from the showbiz", Jennie chuckles before asking again. "Dance?"
"Sure", Taehyung accepts the offer out of politeness. It's just a dance after all.
......
"Now, they are just dancing with his hand on her waist", Jin says sarcastically and Jungkook looks around to find Taehyung.
Don't show it. Don't show it. Don't show it. It's just a dance. It's okay. Jungkook repeatedly reminds himself to not react to what he was watching.
Just a dance.
"Hyung, what are you trying to do?", he asks Jin.
"I am trying to tell you tell you that keeping a relationship in secret is a red flag".
"You always see red flags when it comes to Taehyung", Jungkook rolls his eyes.
"Right! I am just looking out for you Kookie. Like I always do but since you don't want to listen. I will leave. It's late and doctors don't have holidays. Take care okay?"
Jin leaves the party early with a confused Jungkook behind. He spares his glance at Taehyung again, still dancing and laughing with Jennie. He watches as she tries to get closer and closer to Taehyung by every second, clearly trying to seduce him at this point.
Jungkook's blood boils as he watches Jennie try things on his boyfriend subtly and his boyfriend letting her. He knows why they need to keep this relationship a secret and he trusts Taehyung with everything he got. He knows there is no reason why he should feel bad about this but he does and there is nothing he can do about it. Love knows no practicality. Heart doesn't often listen to the brain.
Why is it that she can dance with Taehyung and not him? Why is it that nobody gives them a second glance because it is just another pretty heterosexual couple dancing but it would make national news instantly if it was Jungkook instead of Jennie, dancing in Taehyung's arms? Why is it that despite being his boyfriend and living with him, he cannot go and simply claim his man infront of Jennie and let her know that Taehyung is taken? Why does he have to sit and watch them getting cozy and act like it isn't bothering him? Why does he needs to let another person touch his man just because he cannot afford to make a scene? How was any of this fair? Jungkook isn't upset because Taehyung is dancing with someone else. He is upset because he has to keep how he feels about this hidden. He decides to simply walk away from the party and be in the room until everyone is gone. He walks past Taehyung and Jennie without giving either of them a single glance, making Taehyung instantly uncomfortable and letting him know he messed up. Again.
"Hey, Jennie! It was great spending time with you. I will see you around okay?", he smiles and leaves before she could say anything else and immediately goes back to his room to find Jungkook changing into his night clothes.
"I know you are mad. I can explain", he tries to explain the younger.
"I am not mad, hyung", Jungkook states matter of factly.
"Yes, you are. I saw you walk out of the party".
"Just because I didn't want to watch my boyfriend dance with someone else with his hand on their waist doesn't mean I am mad", Jungkook gives him a dead smile.
"It was just a dance. It was rude to deny her".
"Oh! Would you have danced with me, had I asked you? Since it's rude to deny?".
Taehyung is rendered speechless by the younger's question. "Baby.."
"Don't you dare baby me!", Jungkook yells, ",You asked me to move in with you and I did. This was supposed to be our first Christmas to together and you, Kim Taehyung had the audacity to invite the whole country to the party, make me act like a stranger to you and then dance infront of me with some random popular chick!", he stops to take a breathe.
"Jungkook?", Taehyung says gritting his teeth, "Stop yelling". He holds the younger by his shoulders, trying to calm him down. "I understand that you are mad. Yelling won't solve anything. We can talk this out right?"
"No. It won't. You should probably go back to your elite crowd and dance with some pretty girls to seem like a heterosexual dream. I'll stay here".
"Baby, you should stop. That's a little too much", Taehyung tries hard to contain his anger.
"You aren't used to being checked by people. You aren't used to people talking back to you to tell you where you went wrong. Are you, hyung?"
"So you will take the onus of doing that?", Taehyung scoffs.
"I am not taking the onus to do anything but I am not your staff, I don't work for you and I am not scared of you like any other person downstairs in that party. If I have something to tell you, I will. I am in love with you but I won't take bullshit from you. Let me be straight and clear about this. I will not tolerate you touching anyone who isn't me and God save anyone who touches you!", Jungkook yells, pulling Taehyung by the collar out of anger before he realises what he just did.
Taehyung looks at Jungkook's hands at his collar before smirking, "I hope you know that you would have been dead for this, had you not been my boyfriend".
"You don't kill people".
"I don't", Taehyung smiles before whispering into the younger's ear, "but Shane does".
"Is this supposed to scare me?", Jungkook asks, gulping hard.
"Does it? Scare you?"
"No", Jungkook's lips say while his face says otherwise.
Taehyung steps forward and smashes Jungkook against the wall, subconsciously still making sure to not hurt him.
"Hy..hyung..", the younger stutters as Taehyung gets closer to him as he stands against the wall.
"I love you to death Jungkook", the older whispers, "but I will not be yelled at by you. I don't deal with aggresion well and you should know that. I have always been only and only nice to you but I am not that nice to everyone. I have been a monster to people before and I don't want you to ever see that side of me. Don't make me hurt you baby. That is the last thing I would ever want to do. If I ever lose my cool and end up hurting you, I will never be able to forgive myself."
Jungkook gulps as his heart races in his chest while he is caged inside Taehyung's arms.
"Please never do this again, sweetheart. Behave. Okay?", he says calmly rubbing the younger's cheek with his thumb while the younger's simply nods in response, too stunned to speak.
"As for me. I understand that me dancing with her bothered you and I will keep in mind to never do it again. Anyone who isn't you won't touch me. I remember who I belong to. I will remember to behave as well. Are we cool?", Taehyung continues.
Jungkook nods again, not wanting to talk.
"Use words?"
"I want to sleep", Jungkook deadpans before escaping Taehyung's body cage and getting into the bed. He gets inside the blanket, closing his eyes to ignore the sight of Taehyung.
"I will see everyone off and be back soon", Taehyung leaves the younger alone, both trying to figure out what just happened.
They both know they have crossed lines but there was no going back. They are both hurt and this wasn't the type of Christmas they expected.

Taehyung goes to bed late after downing several drinks of whiskey in the party downstairs. The room is dark with only a faint hint of moonlight peeping through the window. Jungkook is probably asleep, he thinks. Oh how he wants to wrap the younger in his arms and make things right! Jungkook should have never seen even a tiniest hint of Taehyung's other side. Today was the first time Jungkook felt unsafe around him and the this fact has been clawing on Taehyung's heart all evening.
He gets into the bed trying to make minimal noise and finds Jungkook laying in bed, still awake. "I thought you are sleeping", the older whispers, stuttering a bit, thanks to the alcohol.
"You are drunk", Jungkook observes.
"Got a few drinks".
"This isn't the work of a few drinks, hyung".
Taehyung ignores the talk and pulls the younger into his arms, placing delicate kisses on his face.
The night is dark and they can barely see each other despite being as close to each other as humanly possible. Just a faint silhouette is all they see. Where the eyes cannot see, the skin feels. Jungkook feels multiple soft and slow kisses on his face. The cheeks, the corner of his lips, then the nose and his forehead. He is tempted to melt into the older's embrace and let him to do whatever he wants but the ego is the enemy of love. He gently pushes the older away before whispering in the quiet night, "Use words if you want to apologise, not lips".
"Wow!", Taehyung chuckles, "I am trying to fix things here. Do you have to be rude?"
Jungkook looks away ignoring him.
"Do you want me to stay away?"
"Yes. Atleast for now", the younger mumbles.
"I don't want to", stutters the older. "I am sorry, baby. You should have never seen that side of me. I should have known better".
"When you banged me against the wall, I saw your eyes and I didn't recognise them. That wasn't you. Not the Taehyung I love", Jungkook mumbles before scoffing, "and the fact that you really thought you can hurt me even if you wanted to was both cute and funny at the same time".
A very drunk Taehyung looks at Jungkook confused while the latter runs his hand through the older's face. "You do remember what I did to my kidnappers. Don't you?".
"You broke a few bones that night".
"I did".
"Are you insinuating that you could do the same to me?", Taehyung raises his eyebrows.
"No. I cannot. I don't have it in me to even think about hurting you, let alone do it for real. Same is the case with you. Just because you are capable of hurting people doesn't mean you can hurt me. You don't have it in you to do that. The only thing you and I can do is protect each other".
"That's true", Taehyung mutters watching the dark ceiling.
"But I will hurt you if I see you dancing or flirting with others", Jungkook deadpans.
"How will you hurt me if say you see me make out with a random guy", Taehyung laughs.
"You do know that I have a black belt in Taekwondo. Right?", Jungkook smiles curtly, unknowingly pulling the older closer, "and it will hurt quite a lot if you were to get beaten up by me. Just letting you know".
Taehyung laughs out loud at the threat. "God, you are cute!", he pulls the younger for a kiss.
