Alex and Sarah was ready to head through. Alex looked to the bridge to See, Seele, Mei and Rita who was nervous. Alex gave a reassuring smile and Rita just sighed. The portal opened and the two jumped through. Sarah then said "So quick for another mission?" Alex nodded "Agreed, but no time to dwell on it. we are going to some point during the second herrscher's reign." Sarah gave a nod as the duo continued traveling.
The portal opened up and the two were ejected onto a couple people who were fighting. Alex landed on a woman with white hair while Sarah landed on a girl with purple hair. who immedatly said "Who dares land on me." Sarah then said "sorry, we just got here." The white haired woman then said well we're about to die, the nuke is going to go off any second. Alex nodded "well drop anything you have because I don't want to fuck up the future, we're going to use the portal to get away again." The two newbies looked at each other and shrugged. The woman dropped her weapon and the girl ejected some cores.
Alex opened another portal and they all jumped in just as the nuke hit. The white haired woman then said "where are we?" Alex smiled "in the space between worlds, this is just taking us to another location on this world, I kinda anticipated something like this, so I kept some energy spare." The purple haired girl then said "What kind of energy, honkai?" Alex shook his head "not at all."
The portal opened to a forest and the four of them fell out. Sarah was the first to stand up and she said "Well we're somewhere, and I see project end hiding behind a tree." Alex stood up dusted himself off and said "be careful, this one may look stupid, but could just try lure you in." Project end then said "Dammit, you should've died from the nuke." Alex rolled his eyes stepping forward towards project end and said "So you are an idiot." Project end then said "well I never meant to take this place down, Alex you, specifically you have been a thorn in our side for far to long. I have failed. As such you can take it away." Alex then said inspecting her "But you rigged it?" Project end then bit her finger and said "well duh, I wasn't gonna make it easy for you." Sarah then said "is that bad Alex?" Alex shook his head and grabbed ahold of project end saying "not at all." Before absorbing the project end energy. Project end fell to the ground "It just needs a night to settle that's all." Alex then looked to the two girls and said "what are you two going to do?" The white haired woman then said "while you were talking to whoever project end is, I said to sirin here that if it was ok to go with you." Alex then looked at sarah who only shrugged and Alex said "well I guess, I just hope the others won't get mad."
Alex had left to find some wood to make a fire. and he left Sarah with the others. When he got to a safe distance Alex created a blade and picked up a large log, he commanded the blade to cut through the log and it left a clean cut right through the log, he did it a few more times and had around 16 peices. He then grabbed some sticks before heading back to the others. his mind was fixated on rescuing the captain. His plan, his fallback and his student. His basic plan would be to go head and just beat him till he is unable to attack before removing the augmentations, his backup would be to wear him down and depending on how long he can fight for Alex would have to use his secret weapon if needed. As for Sarah, at first he had no intention of bringing her along, but now that Zach's life is on the line, he reconsidered.
Sarah looked at the two seeing that only the older looking woman was awake and said "So, what is you name?" The white haired woman chuckled a little bit while stroking the girl named sirin's h "I guess i should introduce myself. I'm cecilia sharaic, now former schicksal valkyrie and a mother.What about you" Sarah nodded "I'm sarah and my last name is a bit of a weird case right now. I am training as an agent to take down project end. Alex is my mentor."
Alex was walking back as it began to get dark, he grabbed a torch he used to mount onto his rifle from his pocket. He didn't know why it was in there and at this point he just didn't care. Alex then continued to move through the forest and eventually found his way back to the others.
"tell me about Alex" Cecilia said "What's he like?" Sarah then said "he's quite nice, save my life a few times, and I just want to return the favor one day." Cecilia smiled still stroking Sirin's hair "Do you like him?" Sarah blushed and fell back saying "woahhh." Cecilia giggled before saying "I guess that's a yes?" by the time she finished talking Sarah had readjusted herself and said "No, I have someone else, Alex is nothing more than a friend who is my partner in this business of taking down project end." Cecilia smiled "I see, who is the one you like then."
Alex had gotten back to the others and by then sarah had placed rocks in a circle ready to make a fire. She was tossing one in the air and catching it like a ball saying "You're back, and the haul is quite big, you sure we need this much?" Alex nodded "Yeah, it'll need to last most of the night. My bag has a lighter and some paper." Cecilia then said "did you plan on camping?" Alex shrugged "eh, I carry that stuff around anyway. The lighter is kinda needed in my bag at all times and the paper is old report paper that I mostly keep in my desk back home." Alex then set down the twigs and and logs before crumpling up some paper and placing it in a good position. he handed sarah the lighter and said "would you do the honors?" Sarah nodded and took the lighter and lit the paper on fire.
Orange flames burned and Alex watched. after a few hours of speaking with Cecilia She fell asleep and it was just Alex and Sarah that was awake. Sarah yawned once and said "Haven't had a good campfire in a long time, even if this one is a mission" Alex kept staring into the flames and said "I only read reports on campfires, I've always wondered what it felt like." Sarah smiled "it's not the full experience, when we get Zach back I could convince theresa to let us three to go on another one, not impromptu."
Alex was looking up, he could see a few stars but the trees blocked the view. Although the ground was hard he felt a if it was nothing. He could hear soft sounds come from sarah who was now asleep leaving only him awake, he gave a chuckle before he heard the purple haired girl say "what's so funny." Alex sat up and said "I'm just thinking. Do you do that?" Sirin then said "well sometimes, I thought about what a nice life with a family could be like. I dreamt that cecilia was my mother and my father was someone else as well another girl who was a sister who had white hair and twin braids." Alex became interested and asked "what was her name?" Sirin thought for a moment and said "It's messy but I believe that it starts with a K?" Alex nodded "I see, maybe you'll find more when you come to my world. It's like yours but more in the future. well where I live anyway." Sirin stayed silent and looked back to cecilia. Alex looked concerned and said "Is everything ok?" Sirin nodded before going back to the log Cecilia was leaning against and got close before falling asleep again. Alex looked to Sarah who was lying on the log with her arm off the side. Alex smiled before placing a few more pieces of wood on the fire and lied back on the ground drifting off after a few minutes.
Zach stared out to the moon it was quite big and the stars looked nice too the captain came out and said "He's going to be back soon, we should get you to the cell." Zach nodded and said "I understand. How soon do you think they'll fight you?" The captain then said "a few days, and they must win."
Sarah woke up just a few hours from sunrise and saw that the fire was just embers and everyone else was still sleeping. Sarah made sure the fire was completely put out before checking on the others. She looked at Alex and thought to last night. "Alex is nothing more than a friend." She then thought to her first mission and zach running away saying "why don't you just stay with Alex? You clearly spend more time with him than me." Sarah then shook her head "I know what I was imagining, but I still love Zach. When we get him back I will spend so much time with him"
Soon after Sarah woke up Alex awoke and adjusted himself Sarah then said "sleep well?" Alex nodded "Yeah, I was a bit uncomfortable, but I'm fine, the energy is settled so we need to head off soon." Sarah then said looking at the other two concerned "we're not just gonna leave them here, right?" Alex shrugged "Eh, it depends, do you feel comfortable with throwing them in the portal." Sarah sighed "is that really a good Idea?" Alex shrugged again "hell if I know." Sarah walked to the two girls asleep and said "hey there, time to get up, we'll be going soon." With a smile on her face. Sirin then opened her eyes and said "huh, going soon?" Cecilia opened hers soon after "are we ready?" Alex nodded "whenever you are, there's not much else to do now. Anything you want to do here before we leave?" Sirin looked around and said "not me." Cecilia nodded "not me either" Alex then nodded "good." Alex turned away from the others and formed a portal Sirin commented by saying "didn't get a good look before it looks, pretty." Before jumping in followed by Sarah, followed by Cecilia and lastly Alex. But before entering Alex grabbed a small device out of his bag and threw it into the ashes of the fire. The portal closed and it looked like someone went hunting last night.
