T W I T T E R P A T E D
(adj.) love-struck

Just for two seconds, no more than that. Just some momentarily lasting bliss, it's all I need right now—

"Mar," I snapped my eyes open, my head nodding off as I lifted it, looking at Dominic who sat besides me. "Go home, gets some sleep." He rested his hand on the top part of my back, soothingly rubbing it.

Ugh, that feels so good. My entire body is sore, I just wanna get a massage.

"No, I'm fine." I stuffed my face in my hands, trailing my hands over my eyes, my forehead until they were in my hair, pushing it away from my face as I dropped my hands back down onto my laps.

"If you consider not sleeping for two days is fine," Dominic raised a brow. "Then you need to read the definition of fine." He shook his head and he's right, I should sleep but I feel so shit.

I can't leave Grey like this here, he would do the same for me.

"I can see you debating this in your head," Dominic poked the side of my head. "It's nine o'clock, go home for the night, sleep it off and come back tomorrow morning." Dominic rubbed my back as I gave into his soothing touch, not wanting it to end.

"You should go too." I rested my hand on his thigh, near his knee, his eyes snapping to my hand quickly.

"I got here like an hour ago, I'll stay the night," This is not his responsibility. "Plus, I've got Cesar, Mason and Alissa here for company." He smirked and I sighed, rubbing his knee as I nodded.

"I'm tired." I muttered as I crashed back into his chest, his arms instantly wrapping around me from the back, his head rested against mine.

Oh, how I've missed this. Reminds me of the time back in New York — good old days.

"I know, love." He engulfed me into his warm body, I felt so comforted. "I know." He kissed my head and I could just fall asleep here, like this.

I hummed in response, nodding gently. "Alright," I sat up but his arms stayed around me. "I'll go."

"Flavio," Dominic called out for Flavio who walked into the hallway, coffee's in his hands and he looked over like a lost child. "Take Mar home, stay with her for a bit. If you can bring her back tomorrow morning." I don't need to be babied.

"Dom, you know I'm a grown women, I can handle myself." I sighed as I avoided to look at Flavio.

The middle finger I gave him was the last thing I did and now it's been two days. We have sat in front of each other and still haven't spoke, what the hell.

"Um—" Flavio was about to speak but Dominic interrupted.

"I don't care, Grey got shot we're not risking anything right now. We killed about twelve to fifteen men, whoever's men these are, are probably ready to kill us in cold blood. From now, no one travels alone — anywhere." Dominic was pretty sure on what he was saying, me making awkward eye contact with everyone else, Alissa smirking.

"So basically live like a woman," Alissa jerked a brow, looking back at her phone. "Nothing new for us ladies." She's got a point.

No response for the guys, expected.

I laughed, Alissa smirking as she looked up from her phone and at me, then around to the guys.

"Oh, unclench your ass'," I got up, a smile on my face.

"Pretty boy here knows how it feels," Mason pinched Cesar's cheeks who slapped Mason. "Don't you, pretty." Mason made kiss noises in an attempt to tease him, which did work considering Cesar tackled him off the couch.

"Wow." Alissa raised her eyebrows, getting away from them.

"Well..." Flavio muttered as he looked around then spotted the small glass table. "I'll leave your coffee's here, see you guys tomorrow morning." Flavio's voice was dull, no energy in it as he placed the coffee's down.

"Goodnight." I bent down to give Dominic a quick hug, his arms gently around my waist.

We gave each other a quick kiss on the cheek before I pulled away. "Goodnight, amore." Ugh, fuck my heart for messing with my feelings.

I just went from hating this man yesterday to now kissing his cheek and saying goodnight.

I didn't look back, grabbing my keys for the villa. I hope everyone's still awake, I want dinner. Hospital food for two days was just not cutting it.

"Here." Flavio handed me my coffee before grabbing his own as I walked towards the door.

"Goodnight, guys." I called out receiving a 'goodnight' back from everyone, Cesar singing it like some opera woman like the child he is.

"Sir, this is a hospital." One of the nurses popped her head out and we all laughed, me and Flavio exiting the hallway already as I pressed the button for the elevator.

It was quiet soon, it didn't take long for it to seep in. The awkwardness high and it has never been like this between us before, even if we were quiet like this.

I heard him take in a deep breath, the doors opening soon and he let me go in first. Stepping in, coincidently, we both reached for the ground floor button, our hands touching and I instantly jerked away.

Fuck.

What the fuck.

Ugh.

He realised, I mean, he had the same reaction except mine was way more subtle. Great, now he can't even touch me. What the hell happened to us?

I just want my best friend back man.

The journey to the car, we stayed apart, not a word been spoken. He unlocked his car, getting into the passanger seat, I put my seatbelt on.

Five minutes in; light music in the back, not looking at each other and just admiring the city view. Milan is beautiful.

Suddenly, Flavio dug into his pockets, pulling out a cigarette pack, hastily opening it as he took one out and popped it into his mouth. Once we stopped at the traffic light, he grabbed his lighter, lighting his cigarette and dashed the lighter to the side.

His smoking is getting worse. I cracked the window open a little once he blew out the first puff of smoke.

I sat there comfortably yet awkwardly. Out of nowhere, I saw his hand in front of my face, the cigarette in his hand.

Ah, hell, why not.

Grabbing it, without looking at him, I popped the cancer stick in my mouth, inhaling it. I felt the smoke trickle into my lungs as I looked out the window, handing back the stick to him.

Keeping the smoke in my lungs for a bit longer, until I felt satisfied with it, I slowly blew it out, watching the smoke fill my side of the car. Soon, Flavio smoking too, again.

The car ride was quick, ten minutes or so. Thank God that was over with quick.

Once Flavio parked in front of the house, I hopped out. Rushing inside, Flavio still doing something inside, I left the door open for him.

"Hey, Mar," Alec smiled at me, everyone lying around in the living room.

"Hey." I muttered dropping my keys in the small bowl where everyone puts their keys.

"Oh, hey, Flavio." Alec looked at Flavio who walked in, dragging in depression with him.

Alec looked at me, quickly sending me a look because he knows me and Flavio aren't speaking. I shrugged in response, I'm tired.

"I'm gonna go shower." I need to get this hospital smell off me, ugh.

"Dinner's in the kitchen!" Alec yelled out after I left. Yes, food.

Food, sleep and Flavio talking to me is all I need.

Where the hell did Flavio disappear off to?

Sitting here, alone in the dining room, eating cold lasagne because I'm too lazy to reheat it. This is very sad.

After I was done, I washed my plate, grabbed a bottle of cold water and started heading up to my room.

I don't know who's t-shirt I'm wearing but it's so comfortable. People need to stop throwing their clothes around before it goes missing.

Walking into my room, I shut the door behind me, sighing — what the fuck! Oh, that scared the shit out of me.

Flavio stood by my bed, changed into his other clothes as he was looking down at his phone but then looked up at me.

We both just stared at each other. Fuck, I can't do this anymore.

Walking closer, I dropped my bottle on my bed and he definitely didn't expect my next move because he stumbled back when I threw myself at him.

Him not wasting a second as he wrapped his arms around me, lifting off the ground with his face dug into my neck.

Oh, how I missed this dumbass.

"I missed you." I muttered against his head, kissing the top of it; his hair silky and fluffy.

"I missed you more." He muttered against my neck and I felt so much more better. What's sleep? I don't need that anymore. Actually, no I still do.

We stayed like that, embracing one another, my heart warming up, feeling whole again. I tightened my grip on him as my legs wrapped around his waist.

"Okay, you're gonna suffocate me." He muttered and I smiled.

"You deserve it." I kept my eyes closed, enjoying this moment.

"Shut up," He dropped down onto the bed, taking me by surprise as I gasped. Laying down, we tangled our legs with each other's, my head on his chest. "Sleep." He covered my head with his one hand and I lightly slapped his chest.

"I am, smartass." I smiled, that was pretty easy. It just me who had to make the first move. I don't know what he was scared about.

"Go home." I threw Cesar's bag on him, he just wont wake up, it's like he wants to stay here in the hospital.

"That is no way to wake up a sleeping person." He groaned as he sat up, holding his bag and I rolled my eyes; holding out a cup of coffee Flavio and I got on our way here.

"I've been waking you up for the past five minutes," Five minuets is a long time, I don't have that kinda patience. "And you too, get off your ass and go home." I pointed at Dominic who slouched in his seat, sipping on his coffee.

The guys managed to get a private room where they all slept, I mean this is a whole lot better than the hallway. Where was this for me in the past two days; broke my damn back lying on that bench.

"And take a shower while you're at it," I grabbed Dominic, helping him get up which did take a while.

"I don't smell." He muttered and Flavio sniggered, pulling a look knowing we're gonna hear a sarcastic retort from him.

"What is that supposed to mean?" Flavio raised a brow as he sat on the couch, his legs up and crossed on the coffee table. "So," He looked around in his fake thinking look. "If you—"

"—Yeah, he gets it." I interrupted before Dominic and Flavio would've started their usual thing first thing in the morning.

"Fuck you." Dominic gave Flavio his middle finger, trotting out as I escorted him; Cesar, Mason and Alissa behind me.

"Fuck you too, asshole." Flavio called out, they do realise we're in a hospital and there's people sitting outside.

"Suck my dick." Oh, great. Here we go again.

"Kiss my ass." Either this keeps going back and forth or they start flirting any time soon.

"Gladly." Dominic turned around and I clicked my tongue, forcing him to turn back around which wiped the stupid smirk off his face.

After kicking them out, I noticed Flavio sitting there reading the magazine from the coffee table with a boyish smirk on his face; still amused with his encounter with Dominic. What boys.

"What are you smirking at?" I plopped next to him, Flavio looking up as he put the magazine down on his lap.

"I see things between you and lover boy are going well," Oh no, I don't need this right now.

"Yeah," I jerked a brow with uncertainty. "Let's not." I pursed my lips as I sipped my coffee, looking at the TV Mason had left on.

Switching to the news channel, I did not get a word of what they said but I did understand that it was about what had happened last night and the people who died.

"14 'gang members' dead, they suspect it was a gang deal or something gone wrong, no leads." Flavio translated it for me as he licked his finger, intently reading the magazine as he flicked the page.

Sighing, I rested back on the couch. Oh, fuck! The ball's next week, it feels like it's been ages away. I mean, we have been here for a month or so.

"Vio," I spoke and he softly hummed in response. "The ball's next week." I told him and he nodded.

"Your dress is ready, at Lorenzo's sitting there perfectly waiting for you, got your jewellery and shoes too, plus accessories... you have no need to worry." I love this man with every bit of my heart.

I grabbed his cheeks, squishing them as I pulled his face towards me, landing a big smooch on his cheek and he grinned.

"You beautiful man," I smiled. "Well, good thing I more than trust you with all of this because next week Amara Torres — not Lucía — will make an appearance for the media." This is gonna be difficult but hell, I wanna be seen now. I'm sick of this hiding stuff, I'm too pretty for this shit.

"No..." He dropped the magazine. "You bitch and I'm finding out now—"

"Your fault." I shrugged making him frown, giving me a look and I laughed, jumping to hug him. "I love you, dickhead."

"I love you too, bitch," He smiled. "And you better fit in that dress otherwise I'll fucking stuff you in it." I don't doubt that, he's pretty psycho when it comes to stuff like this.

"Alright, damn."
