BISMUTH CASUAL Y'ALL.

Note: you usually wake up around 5 AM. Hehe. No one in here is an early bird, I see.

Prove me I'm wrong >>

Without any warning, Jake stormed inside of your bedroom with a very loud greeting that made you shrieked in surprise as you fell off your bed with a 'thud', Jake who witnessed the whole scene unfold laughed afterwards.

"Morning, sis!" Jake greeted again, his voice was rising every minute and you didn't even know why.

You groaned, sitting on the floor as you rubbed your sore back, eyebrows knitting together. "Hey, Jake... What're you doing in my room? ... At 6.35 AM?" you questioned.

Not that you minded really, you weren't getting any sleep after two days of visiting Steven and continuing your break; you regretted saying 'yes but it slipped put accidentally and now you're just digging up your own hole and wanting to die in it.

Jake chuckled and grabbed your arms before setting you back on your feet, his smile never wavered and the part you hated the most about the smile was that it's contagious, so you forced your tired self to smile.

"I've just received a voice message!" Jake excitedly exclaimed.

You raised an eyebrow, urging him to continue.

Jake noticed and chuckled. "No, this is not a regular caller. It's from..." Jake paused, covering his mouth excitedly.

You giggled. "Okay, now you're making me curious. Who is it?" you leaned further, poking Jake's boney cheeks but also almost attractive.

Jake squealed. "Steven!" he finally answered.

Your whole body system froze, your smile fell instantly as your poking stopped functioning. "What...?" you started, leaning further towards your brother. "W- What did he say? Did he say cry? Was he injured?" you threw your questions.

Jake shook his head and chuckled-- again. "No. Here, I have the recording of the call. While you listen to that, Imma check out what's in your fridge. I'm becoming a big boi, you know?" with that, he leaves.

You looked down at Jake's phone, hesitating on unlocking the mobile using his passcode-- and yes, you share your passwords since you didn't really have anything to hide in them-- and was quickly greeted with a recording call app; your breath hitched.

Thousand of questions and possibilities ran inside of your mind, what-ifs and how should I starting to begin wild inside of your head, but you clicked the red button and played the recording.

It started with steady breathing, as if he tried to calm himself down but then comes in a voice, a deep and soothing voice that you've been missing a lot lately.

"Hey, um, (Y/N). It's me, uh, Stevie- I mean Steven! Gosh, this is hard... Well, um, I called you because I want to, uh, ask you out...? Haha, sorry, I'm a bit nervous. It's okay if you don't want to go out with me, it's fine, really. But this hang out wouldn't be the two of us! It'll be with me, Connie, Pearl and Bismuth! It's just... been a while since what happened and I really wish we can sort things out, you know? Well, um, I guess that's it. I'm outside of Carra's house if you want a ride, haha. So yeah, see ya."

And the voice mail ended just like that.

You let out a breath you didn't even know you were holding in, questions running in your mind again, what-ifs and so on.

Then you checked the time when he called, almost an hour and a half; then you panicked.

He's been waiting for almost an hour and a half! Shoot!

You rushed and grabbed your nearest cardigan and put them on, covering your pyjamas as you ran towards the front door, ignoring Jake who was eating peanut butter using his hand to smear the butter on the bread which you admitted was hella disgusting to look at.

You grabbed the doorknob, swinging it open and roamed your eyes outside; your shoulders stopped tensing as you felt yourself grew disappointed.

He's not here...

Was what you wanted to think but a loud sneeze interrupted it; you looked outside, on your left, eyes widened when you saw Steven stood and leaned on your friend's house while shivering almost terribly.

Your lips frowned. "Oh stars, Steven!" you squeaked, walked outside and wrapped Steven around your cardigan to warm him up. Steven shivered still but was grateful to have another layer covering him. "What were you thinking? You can't just sit around outside for over an hour, it's freezing!" you scolded.

Steven felt himself smiling and let out a chuckle, he swore he could've cried at the sight of you worrying about him but due to the cold, he can barely smile.

"S- S- Sorry-"

"Now, now! Let's get you inside and get you warm up, you doofus!" you scolded again, softly dragging him inside of the house.

Steven was more than overjoyed when he felt your arms surrounding his shoulders and hugged him to warm him up, his heart fluttered like before again.

Steven struggled to bent but let you help him drag his feet out of his slippers; inside, Steven instantly was greeted with warmth and the feeling of fire brushing his skin, he was warmed up quickly as he sneezed again.

He saw you grabbed a tissue and pat on his nose to stop his runny nose from going, Steven felt himself blushing but due to the pink hue on his cheeks cause by cold, he was sure you didn't notice his cheeks burning.

After wiping his nose, he was quickly engulfed into a hug. He heard you sniffled and his heart broke at the sound of it. "Ya idiot! You shouldn't- You should've left if I didn't appear for more than 15 minutes!"

Steven flashed you a soft smile. "I- I was plan- planning to but in- in my heart, I- I knew you would come- come out to see me, no ma- matter how long it takes." Steven struggled but still managed to answer.

Your eyes went teary at his answer, he was right though but you hated seeing him struggling when you were just around his fingertips. "Stupid, idiot, imbecile! You could've had frostbite if you stayed out for long! It's not worth it to see if I'm coming out or not!"

"But I- I think it's worth it." he quickly intervened. He sniffled due to his running nose. "I get to see- see you."

You let out a tear, your bottom lip quivered at his sweet and soft reply; by an instinct, you cupped his left cheek and kissed him-- or maybe just a peck.

Steven's eyes widened at your action, he was stunned for sure, after the many possibilities he had to imagine, he never thought you would kiss him after what happened.

You pulled away, sniffling. Steven felt himself growing warmer quickly as his body shivered under your touch. "Was- Was that- a k- kiss?" Steven stuttered.

You huffed. "Idiot..." you mumbled.

Steven leaned down at you, his smile widening. "Am I now?"

You were now in a state of crying, your tears burst out without permission and your lips quivering violently as you tried to sniff but the sobs disturbed you on doing so; you spread your arms widely which Steven reacted to it automatically, you ran into his arms and hugged him tightly, almost chocking his.

"Steven!" you cried loudly, crying on his shoulder.

Steven returned the embrace and shushing you softly, his cold hand runs inside of your hair. "I'm here, I'm here." he comforted.

You shook your head violently. Your tinier hands clenched on Steven's jacket tightly as you ugly sobs on his shoulder. "I don't- don't want to continue this- this anymore! I want- want to be with you! I love you! I love you so much! I won't stop loving- you! I hate that we're arguing! I hate that we're having a break! I just hate everything!" you sobbed.

Steven smiled widely, hiding his grin in your messy hair as he sniffed the scent of strawberry shampoo you always used. "Does that mean... you want to be with me again?"

You nodded vigorously, sobbing louder; Steven was now all over the moon when you nodded, he tightened his arms around your waists and pecked your neck, giving it butterfly kisses to calm you down.

It did after a few seconds, leaving you to sniffle.

But the sweet moment was ruined when Jake clapped his hands and cheered at the lovebirds, startling Steven and you.

"Woo! I'm crying! This is so adorable, I wish I recorded that! Gosh, how dumb am I?" Jake whined, fisting his head.

Steven raised an eyebrow at the unknown male in the house, tightening his grips around your waists as he tried to make you stay away as far as possible from him; Steven looked around for Carra but she was nowhere to be seen.

"Uh, who are you?" Steven questioned carefully, eyebrows furrowing at the stranger in front of him.

Jake set a heart on his heart, dramatically gasping at the hybrids; the action made you raised an eyebrow and gave Jake a puzzled look, Jake wiped a tear out of his eye, pouting. "Gosh, (N/N)! You didn't tell him about me? Harsh!" he cried.

Your raised eyebrow didn't waver as you continued to give your brother a puzzled look. "What are you talking about, Jake?"

Jake approached the hybrids, pulling you by the arm and slung an arm around your shoulder casually. He smirked at Steven who glared dagger back at him. Jake pecked your cheek and chuckled. "I'm her boyfriend."

Jake chocked when you jabbed your elbow on his soft stomach, making him clutched his stomach desperately and kneeled as he coughed at your hard attack, Steven watched the scene unfold, feeling a smirk coming on his lips when he saw Jake in the state he is now; you rolled your eyes at his tease, made your way back at Steven and fixed your cardigan around him, making sure he gets enough warmth.

Steven smiled at you, feeling grateful for your presence. Steven took your hands off the cardigan and set them on his cheeks, pecking both palms, making you blushed shyly. "You're amazing." Steven told.

You rolled your eyes at his compliment but a grin held on your lips. "Thanks." you shook your head. "Sorry about my brother, he's a little silly at times." you scoffed at your whining brother that was still on the floor.

Steven froze. "Y- You're brother? You have a brother?" he asked in surprise.

You looked into his eyes and giggled. "Yeah, he's a dork."

Steven chuckled. "I can tell." he eyed your groaning brother, stumbling on his feet while clutching his stomach still.

Steven felt you caressed his cheeks, thumbs circling lovingly and carefully, Steven looked down and caught your eyes inside his; your eyes began to fill with worry and fear, he could read you like an open book since he had been hanging out with you a lot.

"You're getting skinnier. Have you not been eating?" you asked, eyebrows furrowed in worry.

Steven grinned nervously. "Uh... I don't want to lie to you, but yeah, I haven't much. I don't have the strength to..."

"You're a dork, you know that?" you joked, smiling at him.

Steven chuckled weakly. "Or so I have been told. You love dorks."

You pinched his frozen nose, earning a chuckle cry from him. You pointed to the heater in the living room with your head, your smile didn't waver yet. "Go sit in front of the heater, I'll bring you some breakfast." you told.

"Yes, ma'am." he obliged, wobbling his way towards the seat that was near the heater and hummed in delight while waiting for the breakfast you told him.

You shook your head at his familiar silliness, grabbing a nearby apron and tied it up around your waists; Jake who finally recovered from the pain on his stomach with a few weak sobs sat on the dining once again, Jake's face beamed up when he saw you dived in the refrigerator.

"You're going to cook?" Jake asked excitedly.

You raised an eyebrow at him, taking some eggs, slices of bacon and chips out of the fridge. "Haven't I done that lately? Why are you so surprised?"

Jake rubbed his neck. "Hehe. It's not like I'm shocked or something. It's just that you're cooks are always the best!"

You felt yourself grinning. "Now you're exaggerating."

"I'm not! Right, Steven?" Jake suddenly turned towards Steven who was enjoying the warmth.

Steven was startled when his name was called, but then he frowned softly. He looked at Jake and gave a wavered smile. "I've... never really tasted her cooking." he admitted painfully.

You bit your inside cheek guiltily, cracking the eggs gently and threw the shells away in the trash nearby; you gulped down your tightened throat as the eggs sizzled on the oil.

You glanced at Steven. "Sorry..." you said, grabbing three empty plates and set them on the counter.

Steven smiled at you. "No worries! It just means that I can enjoy your cook on my birthday! So, lucky me!" Steven cheered.

Your eyes widened, wincing at the sparkling oil hitting your skin. Steven was alarmed and ran to your rescue. Grabbing your injured hand, he kissed it passionately till it was healed and all better. You thanked him with a surprised face still. "Today is your birthday?" you asked, almost sounded like you didn't believe it.

Has time really flew that fast?

Steven nodded. "Yeah. I'm officially 18! That's why we're having a hang out at the rollerskating rink. I think you'll love it!"

You used your spatula and set three cooked eggs on the empty plates carefully before cooking the bacons, Steven felt his stomach growling at the smell. "That's why you called me for?"

Steven nodded again, but this time was less confident. "I- I know that it's just an excuse to see you again... I'm sorry for being such an idiot. I should've just seen you a lot sooner to talk this out and not make us wait. I'm sure we'll get through it better if we see each other face-to-face."

You were stunned at his words before you felt yourself grinning widely. "Well, you should, dork. And I think it's okay to have an excuse to see me, I also think it's sweet." you giggled. "I agree that we should talk this out sooner. I don't think the break is doing us any better." you paused, looking at Steven in fear. "Or was it better for you?"

Steven quickly shook his head. "No! Definitely not! I hate it so much that I could die!" Steven quickly replied.

You sighed in relief. "Thank God. I thought you would like to have this break longer."

Steven suddenly hugged you from behind, his arms snaked around your waists and forced your back to met his chest. You could feel your cheeks flaming red as you tried to focus not to burn the bacons. "Never in a million year!" he disagreed.

You looked up at him, smiling. "That's a relief." was what you said before pecking his lips for a few seconds, catching him off guard.

When you looked back down, Steven shook your softly, not wanting to cause you burning the breakfast. "T- That's not fair! I wanna kiss you first!" he whined.

You laughed and set the bacons on the plates. You wiped your sweats and smiled proudly. "Dig in, guys!"

Jake cheered the loudest, immediately eating the tasteful breakfast that he loved--even though it was just a basic one; Steven was also about to dig in but you stopped his action, earning a confused look from him.

"You can't gain weight if you're just eating eggs and bacons! Have some rice too!" you instructed, placing a bowl of rice in front of him.

Steven smiled at you gratefully and nodded, eating afterwards and moaned at its deliciousness that he almost cried when he tasted it.

You sat beside him, eating your breakfast in delight as well, cheeks bouncing as you chew down your food and dazed in its deliciousness, complimenting yourself internally for the delicious dish; Steven took a glance at you who are happily eating with eyes closed, enjoying your food.

Steven smiled, looking down at the bowl of rice you had served him and ate it again; suddenly, tears burnt his eyes unconsciously and his body grew hotter than before, tears slipped out of his eyes and dropped down on the counter without his consent.

You've changed so much...

That was what he thought, feeling his throat tightening which made it hard for him to swallow down the rice and egg.

Jake startled by the crying guy beside him, sweatpanned at him with a nervous smile. "U- Uh, I know that my sis's cook is the best but you don't have to cry about it. She won't take charges, promise." Jake told, catching your attention.

You looked at Steven and eyes widening when you saw Steven was crying while eating, his nose began to run again but this time was from crying. You grabbed a nearby tissue and patted Steven's nose. "Steven? What's wrong? Is it bad? Do you not like it?" you asked in worry.

Steven shook his head, weakly swallowed through his tightened throat. "It's- It's delicious! I- I finally g- get to taste y- your cook! I'm s- so hap- happy!" Steven told, smiling through his tears as his body shook from trying to hold back sobs.

You hugged him, making him broke down further, tears starting to enter his nose and his nose became super runny that it sometimes entered his mouth; you didn't say anything and just helped him to get off his snots and patted his back as comfort.

You smiled.

Finally, he was there and he didn't leave your sight.

Time Skip

Jake whined loudly, mostly sounding like a kid who wanted a toy but his mother won't buy it for him. "You're leaving? What about me? You can't just leave me here!" Jake protested, holding you back from entering Steven's car while hugging your arm--pulling.

You sighed for the nth time of the day. You turned to your sweet little but taller brother and grinned at him. "It won't take long. I'm just going out to meet my old pals. You'll survive without me being here for a few hours." you told.

Jake pouted and crossed his arms, letting your arm go. "Fine! Just go! Not like I care!" he sulked.

You giggled. "Don't be like that. I'll be back around 9. Plus, Carra will be home soon so you won't be as lonely." you stated out.

Jake shook his head, blushing as he deepened his head in his scarf. "Can I... invite Jamie here?" he shyly asked.

You tilted your head. "The mailman?"

Jake tilted his head. "Who? No, it's my boyfriend. You met him a few weeks ago. In the cafe, remember?"

You nodded. "Oh! Jamie! Yes, I remember him. Sorry, my mind hadn't been so cooperative lately."

"Tell that to my brain." Jake joked.

You then waved at him. "Well, see ya later. Don't make a mess!"

"No promises!"

You heard what he said before you entered the car with Steven patiently waited for you, he looked at you and smiled, you couldn't help but smile back. feeling yourself returning to the shy girl you once were; Steven reached out his hand, you glanced at it before intertwined it with yours, feeling yourself growing warmer just by the touch.

You kissed the back of his hand. "It's been a while." you muttered.

Steven nodded, moving the car forward as he began the journey on his way home, wanting to pick up Bismuth, Pearl and Connie that was waiting at his place. "Yeah. I'm glad, really." he told, rubbing your knuckles using his thumb passionately.

You instantly grew soft at his touch, feeling yourself blushing just by it. "How's everyone?" you asked, letting Steven rubbed his thumb around your knuckles still.

Steven shrugged, twirling the wheel using one hand and took a corner. "Eh, not much to say. But they miss you if that's what you're wondering." Steven said, looking at both sides before moving forward again.

You hummed and then sighed. You ran your free hand in your hair, clutching it slightly. "I'm a fool, aren't I?"

"What makes you say that?"

You looked through the glass in front of you. Lights passed by quickly within mere seconds and the long road kept on repeating. "You know, if only I hadn't run that day, no one will be worrying about me."

Steven gripped his hand in yours. "Hey, hey. While I agree you shouldn't run that day, we still agreed to have this break so you shouldn't burden yourself with that. Look at the bright side though, we're back together! Aren't you happy about that?" he stated.

You grinned. "I'm so happy."

"Me too, love. Me too."

After a moment of driving in silence that was accompanied by music from the radio, you finally had arrived at the house you used to call home; it was a lie if you said that you weren't nervous to meet the others, especially when you're arriving the same time as Steven, you wanted them to be surprised and you were sure they will, but the thought of them judging doubted your thoughts from going out of the car.

Steven pulled the car to a stop, smiling rather widely as he was so excited to see everyone's faces when he came inside with you beside him, he couldn't even contain his excitement anymore.

"Let's get in!" Steven exclaimed, opened the door quickly. But when he figured you weren't getting out of the car, he entered again and looked at you in worry, holding your hand firmly. "What's wrong?" he asked.

You gulped. "I... I don't think I should go."

"What? Why?"

"What if they don't like me anymore? I've been missing for so long... and- and make them worry sick because of me. I feel like it's just a burden if I come along. So, maybe I should go back home."

Steven paused for a moment. He then leaned forward, pecking your forehead lovingly. "This is home."

You inhaled shakily before exhaling. You nodded, giving Steven a motivated look before smiling. "Okay, let's do this!"

Steven chuckled excitedly. "That's more I like it!"

The both of you quickly jumped out of the car, turning off the car and made your ways towards the beach house; you would be lying if your heart wasn't pounding like crazy, it feels as if your heart was trying to jump out of your chest forcibly, thinking of the possible situation in your head, you tried to embrace every solution you could come up with.

Once you're at the door, you heard Connie talked. "Is Steven not here yet?" she asked Pearl and Bismuth.

Bismuth rolled up her sleeves. "Not yet. What would that kid be doing to take such a long time?" Bismuth asked anxiously.

Pearl scratched her arm. "Even if he was abducted, he will manage on his own, so I don't see the problem."

You smiled at this, three of your best friends are in your view and it made your heart warmed. You felt your arm tugged, looking to the side, Steven gave you a confident smile. "Are you ready?" he asked.

You inhaled shakily before breathing out. You then nodded. "I'm ready."

"Okay." Steven mumbled. He then reached out his hand, twirling the doorknob which managed to die down his friend's conversation. Once he opened the door--you were hiding--, he was greeted with surprised but relieved faces. "Hey, guys." he greeted sheepishly.

Pearl sighed in relief. "Steven! We were starting to get worried. Where were you? It's been half an hour since our meeting time."

Steven scratched the back of his head, chuckling nervously. "Sorry for taking my sweet time, but I had a plus one with me."

Connie tilted her head. "Plus one? Wait, you don't mean..."

Steven nodded, he grabbed your hand and pulled you from your hiding spot, making everyone froze in the spot with wide eyes, disbelief of the sight of you standing there and greeted them shyly; you then waved slowly.

"H- Hi." you stuttered.

They froze for a moment before Bismuth flashed her a smirk. "Hey. Good thing to know you're coming with us. It's your first time, right?"

You cleared your throat nervously. "Y- Yeah."

Bismuth wrapped an arm around your shoulders, pulling you closer. "Then what're we waiting for? Let's go!" she cheered, making her way towards the car with you under her arm.

You only followed her suit; she lets you enter the car and sat at your usual seat beside the driver--which is Steven--as everyone followed suit.

You felt your tightened and nervous heart stopped pumping anxiously and just pumped normally and relaxed, you were looking forward to this hangout.

Time Skip

Steven is currently driving the Supremo down a road, the silence in the car was quickly replaced by a song called 'Can't Hold Me' by Emily King softly played, Connie who was in the back seat sang along, staring at her side with an open window.

"Oh, man, I can't get enough of this song!" Connie told before continue to sing along, but unfortunately, the song ended soon after.

Sour Cream who was voicing the radio exclaimed. "And that was "Can't Hold Me" by Emily King, just one of the many songs you can request tonight at the Starlight Roller Rink featuring DJ Sour Cream!"

Your eyes widened, pointed to the radio in disbelief as you looked at Steven. "Was that really our Sour Cream?" you asked, surprised.

Steven chuckled. "Yeah. He had been working there for a while but he decided to expand his career soon. So, he invited us to visit him before that time comes."

Pearl who was on the back cheered, rolling up Bismuth's sleeves up to her elbows. Bismuth blushed at the touch but it was durable. "I'm so excited for you to get out there and experience some interpersonal relationships with humans, Bismuth!" Pearl exclaimed excitedly, Bismuth chuckled at her exciting form. Pearl then unbutton two of her buttons, showing off her colourful Gem in view. "Don't be afraid to show off your gem. They're gonna love you for who you are." Pearl said, patting Bismuth's arm.

Bismuth smiled widely at her. "Hope I can keep up." she told anxiously.

Pearl then closed her eyes. "The most important thing to remember is-" as she was cut off by a commercial, she quickly sprung out of her seat and yelled out. "Ah! I love this song!" Pearl told, making you raised your eyebrow in curiosity.

Steven chuckled at Pearl's childish behaviour, gripping his hand around yours as he continued to rub your knuckles using his thumb. You responded by tightening your hand as well. "You mean this commercial?" Steven asked, taking a glance at the rearview.

Pearl didn't respond and just continued to yell out. "Turn it up!" as she reached over to the volume on the radio and turned it up and sang along with the commercial; Bismuth watched as she sat back on her seat and Connie giggled at her action.

"Cam's Camshafts is the place to bring your wreck
G

et your car repaired for cheap and fair
Without risking your neck
Cam's Camshafts~" Pearl sang along which the car then filled with laughter.

As the smile died down, your smile still lingered on your lips, feeling thrilled of making the right choices of coming along; Steven noticed this and pecked the back of your hand, earning your attention in return, you were quick to notice that he was smiling wide too.

You raised an eyebrow. "What? Why are you making that face?" you asked.

Steven chuckled, feeling himself smiling wider. "What face?" he teasingly asked back.

You tugged his hand gently, leaning forward to him a bit. "That face. Why are you making that look?"

Steven blushed when he caught up you noticed his smiley attitude, making him feeling butterflies in his stomach. "There's no the look. I'm just being happy, is all. What? Is being happy forbidden now?"

"You dork."

"Your dork."

You blushed at his words, hitting his arm repeatedly but not too much that it'll distract him from focusing on the road. "Stop being cheesy!"

Steven pecked your cheek quickly. "You like it and you know it."

"Steven!" you called between your laughter, hitting his arm again.

Connie, Bismuth and Pearl who was at the back feeling themself smiling at the hybrids, feeling that your connection had grown stronger than before; nevertheless, they're happy for your happiness.

A few moments passed and you had finally arrived at Starlight Roller Rink; your jaw dropped at how colourful and neon it was, it was like you were inside of a party but with a mix of strangers; they were women, men, children, you name it, and what surprised you the most was that there was Sour Cream in the middle of the room and behind a glass window.

"Here we are!" Pearl sang, entering the place with her arms wide open, Bismuth following her close behind with the same lovesick smile lingering on her face.

Bismuth set her hands on her hips, looking around the place in admiration. "Wow! So you mean to tell me people pay to have wheels strapped to their feet for fun? That is really something else..." Bismuth whistled.

"Hey, there's Sour Cream!" Steven pointed at as you looked over at Sour Cream, you felt yourself smiling at this.

"Wow. I'm happy for him." you told.

Steven slung an arm across your shoulder, hugging you afterwards, you giggled and pecked his cheek sweetly, Steven looked at you and replied the same except it was on your temple; you hummed.

"Keep skatin' in circles. You're doing great." Sour Cream spoke through the mic, echoing in the place as he watched people circling in the rink.

Bismuth scratched the back of her neck anxiously, flashing a nervous smile. "I don't know about this, y'all. I've never skated before." she stated shyly.

Steven and you turned around while giving the same nervous smile. "This'll be my first time skating."

"Same here." you told after.

Bismuth looked down at the hybrids, raising an eyebrow. "How'd you end up missing out on this popular human activity?" Bismuth asked.

Steven shrugged. "Well, with everything that's happened since I got my powers, I've kinda missed out on a lot of human stuff."

You nodded in agreement. "I got locked up in a basement." you informed.

Steven chuckled. "But hey, it can't be that hard to skate, right?" he asked jokingly.

Pearl laughed excitedly when she spotted a pack of her people, skipping her way towards them with an excited wave. "Yoo-hoo! There you are!" Pearl sang, greeted.

Jaime--one of Pearl's friends--waved at her as he stood up from his chair. "Yo, Pearl!" they greeted each other, laughing at something.

Bismuth whistled. "Wow, so that's Pearl's fan club, huh? They seem so... friendly and interesting." Bismuth said, bit her inside cheek as she wrapped her arms around her body.

Steven shrugged. "It's like she has a whole other life going on."

You looked up at Steven, tugging his hand gently to gain his attention. Once you do, you smiled shyly at him. "Um, I had to go to the bathroom." you shyly exclaimed.

Steven smiled back and pecked your head. "Okay, but be careful." he advised.

You nodded and pecked him on the cheek, earning a bashful look from him; you giggled at the look and just left his sight, entering the nearby restroom around the area.

It was quiet once you entered but the silence didn't last long, a toilet was flushed soon and the door creaked open, revealing an elegant and independent woman escaped the bathroom stall; you didn't say anything and just smiled at her before making your way towards the bathroom, walked past the woman.

The woman didn't say anything either so you were surprised when she grabbed your arm aggressively, tugging you back into her depressing view with a deep scowl forcing her face to scrunched; your body was stunned at her action that you felt yourself freezing under her cold gaze.

(E/C) eyes meeting yours, (S/C) colour hand gripped your arm tighter, not letting you go anytime soon and (Lips/Colour) coloured lips twitched in anger.

Your face paled quickly at how rage the woman is, gulping silently. "U-Uh, how may I help y- you?" you stuttered, feeling sweats of stress and nervousness trickled down your forehead.

The woman's teeth became more in view, perfect white straight bones in her mouth that seemed to bite your arm off anytime. "He cheated on me, didn't he?" the woman growled, her bangs covered most of her face but it still frightened you.

You tried to twist your arm free but her death grip didn't even butch. "W- Who?" you stuttered again, feeling your knees getting weak and the urge of going into the bathroom increasing.

The woman gritted her teeth further, you heard she clicked her tongue in annoyance. "Him! (F/N) (L/N)! He did, didn't he?" the woman shouted in distress.

Your eyes widened at the mention of the name. "M- My father?"

"You twat. Stop stuttering would ya!" she scolded, twisting your arm aggressively which earned a yell of pain from you.

You kneeled on the ground, making sure your body twisted the way your arm was twisted and tried to make the pain lessen. Tears brisking your eyes as they burnt. You were scared, for once in a while. "M- Ma'am! You're hurting me!"

As you said that, the woman let you go and went for the door, grabbing the doorknob and locked the door with a click; your body was on guard as soon as you heard the door was locked, feeling your eyes widened further--if possible; the woman turned towards you again, giving you the most disgusting face anyone had ever given you.

Her heels clicked at each footstep she took, inching closer to you in silence except for the sound of her heels clicking on the tiled floor, your body didn't shake but it was shivering, you didn't know if you shivered because of the cold ground or because of her cold gaze.

She then slowly kneeling in front of you, her bangs moved backwards as she tilted her head upwards, meeting your eyes properly with the angriest look you've ever seen. You didn't know what to do, and you have no way to escape too. You cursed yourself for being weak again. "You're... (Y/N) (L/N), right?" she asked, her voice calmed down than before.

You nodded, curiosity began to filled your body once she asked the question. "H- How..." you didn't manage to ask.

Her cold eyes traced down your face, body, arm and then fingers, her eyes widened a bit at the sight of a perfect silver circle covering your ring finger with a tiny diamond on top of it. She hummed. "Who was that from? A guy?" she asked again.

You looked down at the ring, bringing your finger closer to your face as you felt a smile lingering on your lips. "Yeah. He's a friend."

She scoffed and rolled her eyes. "Gah, so pure and I hate it." she stood up on her feet, turning her face to the mirror and fixed her hair. "What did I do to give birth to such a brat?" she muttered.

You caught the mumble and your eyes widened at her words, your mouth gapped in shock. "Y- You're my mo-"

Your words quickly put a stop when her feet met your cheek, sending you back on the ground with a loud thud; the stinging feeling on your bruised cheek continued to spread that you felt your jaw went numb.

The woman fixed her sleeved professionally, glaring at your way with a disgusted face. "Never call me your 'mother'." she hissed. "I never am or will be your mother, you got that? I never want to do anything with you." she bit.

You set your cold hand on your cheek, feeling that it was deeply bruised by that one powerful kick; you gulped painfully, never have you thought that meeting your mother would be this disturbing.

"Let me give you an advice that I've experienced in a hard way." she glared dagger at you. "Never trust any men." she stated darkly, you felt your body flinched at her hiss.

The woman turned around, walking her way towards the door and was about to reach for the doorknob before she froze at your question. "Was it father?" you said, painfully since your jaw had been bruised as well. She turned at you, her eyes sent venom through her gaze but it didn't flinch you once. You smiled brightly. "He... will be so happy to have you back home." you told gently, a hint of happiness were in your voice.

Her eyes widened, but then she brought her fist and slammed it at the wall, silencing you on spot. A deep crack was in view when she removed her hand from the wall. Not a bruise or scratch could be found on her knuckles. "That man is better off gone out of my life. I will never want to see his face!"

You frowned. "He loves you, mo- ma'am! He always tells me that!"

She glared. "Those are lies! All of the thing he told you about how he loves me are lies! That's why you never trust men!"

"But he hit me because of you! He told me that I killed you and that he wished you were still alive! He's been mourning for years!"

"Those are craps! He never cared about me! He just cares about his pleasure!" you went silent. "When I was impregnated you, he wasn't even there to take care of me! To take care of us! And when I gave birth to you, I found out he got another woman pregnant and married her without anyone knowing! When I told him about how he betrayed me, he didn't even apologise! He even asked me money to pay for that damn woman he got pregnant with!" she giggled darkly. "That's why I don't give a damn about that whore! I don't care if he's dead or alive! I don't care how he treated you in the past! I don't care how the other child was doing! So don't ever speak of him in front of me!"

But you're the one who brought it up...

Was what you're going to say if she wasn't so angry at the moment.

The woman you called as mother wiped her eyes as if tears were threatening to be fall but she wouldn't let them; you scanned her figure-- beautiful (H/C) brushed her (S/C) skin with a blow whenever she moved, her (L/C) lips formed the deepest frown you've ever seen and it broke your heart, the suit she was wearing hugged her curves that it made she looked like a gorgeous and elegant milf.

Is this really my mother?

When you looked at her frustrated face, all you could think was... 'Ah, that's what resembles us.' the way your mother frowned in frustration behind her angelic face, covering her true look with a mask like a second layer covering. You smiled. 'I hate my father, too.' you thought, looking down at your laps and smiled painfully.

You brushed your hair to the back, grabbing them whole and set it on one of your shoulders, patting it softly. You looked up at your mother. "I hate dad, too." you started. She has still silenced herself, roughly wiping her visible frustrated tears away. "I hate him so much for torturing me for something I never did. Even if I did, it wasn't my fault to begin with." you inhaled deeply. "My dad tried to kill me back when I was 16, ma'am. He tried to drown me in the ocean, but he failed." you informed, playing with your fingers as you tried to stand up back on your feet. "He always shout at me, things like you killed my wife or you shouldn't be living or something goes like that."

You stood up, turning your gaze away from your mother and looked at the mirror in front of you, you could clearly see the bruise that was on your cheek, deep blue with the mix of purple and yellow spreading on your cheek down your jaw, making you smiled at your reflection; you looked at your eyes only to see something familiar, a pair of Diamond eyes plastered on them, shining proud and tall.

"Every day I wished that one day I'll meet you to save me from dad. But you never came so I gave up when I was 13."

Your mother walked to your side slowly, sharing a mirror of yours as you looked at her figure standing beside you, all frowning and eyes were all red by her rough wipes; you smiled at the reflection, touching the bruise with a giggle.

"This bruise was nothing to compare to what dad had been giving me since I was 6. And... the slap the guy I like gave me a month and a half ago." you looked at her reflection, making eye contacts. You then slowly turned around, giving your mother a soft smile. "I know this escalated very quickly but... everyone around is fake and it confused me as to which one is the truth. And right now, I only see a person who's true with her feelings standing in front of me. And I want to stick with her no matter the cost. Can I keep in touch with you, ma'am?" you spoke seriously.

Your mother eyed you head to toe, giving the look that she was judging look. Then, her eyes stopped at your chests. "You... still have that?" she asked, pointing to where she's looking at.

You looked down, smiling sheepishly at your mother. You scratched the back of your head. "Uh, I don't exactly know how to remove it, haha." you nervously laughed. Then, your mind clicked. "Wait, how did you survive?" you asked.

Your mother quirked an eyebrow. "What...?"

"Steven's mother died when she gave birth to him and inherited her mothers Gem. So... how did you... how are you still here?"

"Steven is the boy you liked?" was her first question. You blushed at her question but nodded sheepishly anyway. Your mother crossed her arms, leaned on the sink. "What was her mother looks like?"

You perked up at the question. "Uh, she's very tall! A- And pink. She has this huge pink curly hair and a smile of beauty! Oh! And her name is Rose Quartz!" you answered as much as you remembered.

Your mother then straightened herself at an inhuman speed, looking in your direction with widened eyes. "The Rose Quartz? The Queen of Rebellion? The one that murdered Pink Diamond?" your mother threw you questions.

"Actually, Rose Quartz is Pink Diamond." you exclaimed.

"What?"

"Steven told me that her mother was Pink Diamond. Pink Diamond wanted a colony and she got one but then she decided it wasn't her true course so she decided to fake her own death by using her Pearl to shapeshift as her a- and kill...? Her." you explained. "Then, she came down to Earth as Rose Quartz and fell in love with Uncle Greg and gave birth to Steven. After all that happened, she died because she has emerged as Steven." you finished.

Your mother wiped her forehead and moved her bangs backwards, feeling herself couldn't believe her daughter's words. They were complicated to understand but she caught up. Your mother gazed to the floor. "I've been friends with Pink Diamond all of this time?" she muttered in disbelief. She looked back at you. "Is Steven the same age as you?"

You nodded. "Uhm! But only a few months older than me! He's 18 today!"

"Today is his birthday, too?"

"Yeah. He's happy to be together with me after what happened. I'm not sure if I can just forgive him, but I'll give him a second chance." you told.

"You both had a break, right?"

You nodded.

"Did it improvise both of your feelings?" she tried to confirm.

You hummed. "I'm not sure about his feelings but mine is improved. I understand so many things within the break and I am sure that I had grown mature because of it. But... I'm not sure about how he feels towards me, and that's kind of a downer."

Your mother set a hand on your shoulder, giving you the most serious look. "(Y/N), confess to him."

You processed the words for a moment before your face burst red, feeling smokes coming out of your ears. "W- What?" you stuttered.

Your mother poked your forehead. "The faster you confirm his feeling, the faster you can confirm yours. Besides, if you're too late, there will be someone else who will willingly take your place."

Your body froze at her words. "A- And what if that happens?"

Your mother went silent for a moment. Her eyes scanned your face first. "You'll lose him."

Your knees went weak as she answered, feeling your heart tightened painfully and a surprised look reached your face.

"The faster he rejects you, the faster you can move on. Trust me on this." she said.

You... can get rejected, too?

Your heart instantly filled with doubts, anxiety, insecurities and so on; a doubtful look quickly replaced your confident eyes as you looked at your mother who gave you the most determined look.

Your mother reached down to her purse nearby and grabbed a card, sinking the card inside of your pocket's shirt, she then smiled awkwardly, patting your head. "K- Keep in touch, alright?" she hesitantly spoke, gazing away from your eyes.

Your frown was replaced in a relief smiled. Your body launched forward and quickly embraced her in a tight hug. Your smile widened when you felt her hands hesitantly patting your back. "Thank you." you muttered against her suit.

"Yeah, no problem." she answered, shoving you back gently and fixed her suit, looking away from your eyes shyly.

You smiled at her immature state, it was only a couple of minutes since you've met your mother again but it felt like years; you wished all of this wasn't a dream and the time could be freeze so you had more time with her.

But your hope was cut short when the door was knocked and a feminine voice called. "Hello? Is anyone in there? I really need to use the bathroom." the voice told.

Your mother laughed at this, grabbing her purse and walked towards the door, unlocking it as the woman who called earlier dashed inside of the bathroom stall without a second thought; your mother looked at you again, a smile replacing her frown earlier.

"Don't you need to use the bathroom, too?" she asked.

You giggled at this, walking towards her. "I don't feel like it anymore." you laughed sheepishly.

As you both escaped the bathroom, your mother then gave you a handshake. "I'm only here to use the restroom but it seems like I took too much time in there."

"Sorry for taking your time, ma'am." you apologised

Your mother didn't correct you as she felt the responsibility of becoming a mother was still far from her reach, just by giving you a piece of advice and a kick on the face doesn't make her a mother yet, so she dug up a new goal in her life; to become the mother you can be proud of.

She waved at you, walking towards the exit. "Well, I gotta go back to work. See ya, kid."

You waved back. "Bye, ma'am!"

With that, her figure left the place without any trace was left behind, except for the business card she gave you earlier was stuffed comfortably in your pocket.

You turned around, the smile didn't last long after when you saw Steven and Connie were holding hands, sharing a pair of bigger roller skates and was laughing together.

Your heart clenched again when you remembered your mother's words.

(Y/N), confess to him. The faster you confirm his feeling, the faster you can confirm yours. Besides, if you're too late, there will be someone else who will willingly take your place.

A- And what if that happens?

You'll lose him.

The insecurities coming back to you like a truck hitting a pole, your mind went dizzy by thinking of all the possibilities of getting rejected and someone steals him from you, your body went weak as well at it.

You could feel the nerves in your body tingling, looking down at your hand, your eyes widened when you saw your whole body glowing just like how Steven's body did; you looked back at Steven and Connie and looked at their intertwined together, their laughs fit each other so perfectly.

You exhaled, the glowing hasn't left your body yet. You then nodded to yourself. "Yeah, I guess I'm a bit too late. They look perfect with each other."
