Ah, Mondstadt.
It was good to be back.
Don't get me wrong, Liyue is beautiful and cultural.
But Mondstadt? Mondstadt will always have a place in my hear-
"AAAAGGHHGHGHHhhhhhhhh-"
At the sound, Paimon who was laying on my head jumped in fear.
Something had zipped right past us. It looked like a boy, maybe 15-16 with shaggy blonde hair.
He left a trail of fire in his wake and disappeared behind a forest of trees.
I couldn't get a good look at him, but that was all I was able to make out.
"Oh Nah, I forgot this is the ghetto." Paimon scrunched her nose at the sight of burning grass.
I slapped her upside the head.
"Where did you learn that word!?"
She rubbed her head, "you."
Deadpanning I turned to Aether who was trying to see if the person who flew past us was alright, but they were long gone.
Looking around the area once more, he saw no other danger and decided to just lead us towards the gates of Mondstadt.
'Im starting to think I know who that was...'

"Pass me another drink!"
"Hey, six fingers! Play a little louder!"
"I wonder if Lisa would be willing to suffocate me with her thig-"
"I've got another order of chicken mushroom skewers!"
Angels Share was bustling with life as always.
The various men and women who came here to drown their world in liquor and dance all day long did just that.
Of course, we weren't here to follow them.
When walking back from Mondstadt, we caught wind of a little rumor. People were questioning who was Mondstadts strongest fighter?
Well...
"Im telling you Pai, it's so obviously me!"
She gave me a side-eye, "if it was anyone, it would be Aether, not you miss girl."
I raised an offended hand to my chest.
"Paimon, im not liking this new attitude of yours."
She placed her hands on her hips, turning her head away from me. "You don't understand me, no one does-"
I shoved a mushroom skewer I stole from a patreons plate in her mouth.
She chewed happily on the snack as I dragged her through the air, by her ankle towards Charles, the bartender currently on duty.
Aether had begun to talk to Patton after I and Paimon got distracted.
Once he was done, we went to ask around about who the people thought was the strongest fighter.
Jose, the six-fingered bard, thought it to be some girl in red who he didn't know the name of. Jack, an adventurer, thought it was Stanely. Bruce, a knight, said it was Jean. And Charles the Bartender said the darknight hero.
All had explanations and examples as to why the person they chose was the best, so it made it all the harder to decide.
"Hmm..." Paimon hummed as she placed a finger to her chin in thought. "If we can't get the answer here... Oh! We should ask Master Jean! I bet she would have an idea of who the strongest fighter in Mondstadt is!"
After her proclamation, she hurried us out of the tavern, eager to reach the Knights of Favonious HQ.
"Man... What about Jeans thig-"
The door to the tavern shut before I could hear the rest of the man's sentence.
And I was glad too.

Bursting through the doors of Favonious headquarters, I saw many knights roaming about the floor.
"IM BACK BITCHES. YOUR LORD AND SAVIOUR HAS ARRIVED"
Without waiting for an answer I headed straight for Jean's office, just to show my superiority over them all.
I could hear Aether quietly apologizing as he walked with me into the room.
"Master Jean!"
I greeted lovingly as I strutted over to her.
The Blonde women turned with semi-tired eyes.
Her eyes widen once they saw me, a smile forming on her lips.
"(Y/n)... The travelers, how have you been?"
I placed my hands on her desk, "Just perfect, now that I've seen you~"
Placing the palms of my hands together, I swayed a bit as my expression turned into one of bliss.
Feeling a wack to my head, I instinctively covered my scalp.
"Stop it! Ugh, sorry for bothering you, anyways Jean, we're here to gather intel on the strongest fighter in Mondstadt."
Jean, who had a hand raised to cover her face, placed her hand back down to look at Paimon skeptically.
She told us that there was no such ranking system for her to give us the information we wanted.
That kinda sucked, since I would never be able to see where I stood on the leaderboard.
'Damn... I can still suplex Aether though, so it's fine.'
It was true, and let me tell you I've done it before.
Though our efforts were in vain, and we didn't get what we wanted, we did receive a warning about heightened Abyss mage activity.
It's gone up since we last came here.
Assuring Jean we would be alright, we bid her goodbye(I blew a kiss in her direction) and left the room to search someplace else.
"Well at least it wasn't for noth- AAYYYEEEEEEEEEE-"
I was cut off by a child, body slamming me.
The barreling kid went for my legs, effectively throwing me off balance and taking me down with her.
I wouldn't ever forget this day, and I swear to myself that I will take my revenge.
I looked to the one who had brought me dishonor, and was met with-
'O h m y g o d s h e s a d o r a b l e.'
Some elf-looking thing looked up at me with the cutest eyes I had ever seen.
Apologizing profusely, she bowed her head.
I couldn't move as I was too busy trying not to cry at the cute sight to notice Aether running up to her in worry.
'Oh yeah, she bumped headfirst onto my legs.'
"Oh no! Wait! Are you okay!?"
Pushing aside Aether, I took my rightful place of worrying about the hurt by providing her with care and love.
"I'm so sorry, please don't be mad..."
She softly whined as I checked her head for wounds.
"I'm not mad hun, don't worry, are you alright though?" Activating a small amount of my dendro vision, I healed any scrape or bruise she may have accumulated after falling.
She smiled at me after the process was done.
"Hey... You dropped something..."
Aether, who still looked dejected after being shoved aside, held a small notebook with a flower insignia on it.
Being as nosy as she is, Paimon pointed out what was in the small notebook.
There were 3 separate rows of text, and they seemed like warnings to me.
"Mondstadt be bombed... Klee be doomed... ARE YOU A TERRORIST!?"
I screamed without thinking, jumping back from the girl.
"Te- tentrist? Tetris? What's that?"
The small girl asked innocently.
Smacking a hand over my mouth, I deadpanned at my words.
I really shouldn't be saying these things around a child, or towards one for that matter.
"Yikes..." She bashfully responded, "Mr.Kaeya wrote these down for me, they're my survival rules."
At the mention of Kaeya's name, my grimace deepened.
'We've gotta hop from one problem child to another in this world, don't we?
Well, I shouldn't expect to NOT run into him. He still makes me feel uneasy though...'
The kid introduced herself to us as Klee.
I had assumed as much via the name on her 'rule' system.
Sharing our names as well, we made friends with the elf-like girl with ease.
Getting to know each other more, we realized that Klee was in a rush because of a treasure that she had buried in whispering woods.
She had lost it and wanted to find it as soon as possible.
I did question how she lost it but had a map that marked its exact location... But it was a kid, so I couldn't say anything
...sadly.
Agreeing to help her find it, we all rushed out to whispering woods, our previous goal of finding Mondstadts strongest fighter swept aside.

Klee's humming could be heard as we all rushed towards Whispering woods.
She was happily skipping alongside us, while we searched for the treasure.
"Your treasure is gone, but you seem awfully happy." Paimon pointed out as she smiled at the girl.
"Ah well, Razor and Albedo were really busy lately, so Klee must not disturb them." Curtly nodding to herself, Klee accepted the fact that she couldn't have bothered her other friends with this matter.
However, the mention of their names struck me odd.
'I know Razor but... Albedo also seems familiar to me. Hmm.'
I whipped out my book as we ran, flipping the pages as I came across a section with multiple names and drawings, along with descriptions.
Aether and Paimon had helped me with it, calling it a project as I filled my now retrieved book.
Childe's actions of stealing it were childish, but this book meant so much to me.
Analyzing the pages, I couldn't find anything on this Albedo person, but I felt as if I just knew he was.
I couldn't place my finger on it.
"Well" Paimon started, "now Klee has new friends!" She said as she gestured to us.
I and Aether nodded towards the girl as we continued to our destination.
I placed my journal inside my bag once more.
'Adorable.' I fawned as I clutched my cheeks.

"YOU'RE NOT ADORABLE!"
Yelling towards the Abyss mage that we encountered, we realized he had dug up Klee's treasure and was planning on stealing it away.
"YOU MOTHER FLIPPER, GET YOUR BUTT BACK HERE BEFORE I GENTLY BONK YOUR HEAD AND SOFTLY WACK YOU!"
"she's really not trying to say anything bad in front of Klee, is she." Paimon Quietly whispered to the blonde beside her.
"Yeah." He responded, "She's still failing miserably"
"FRIDGE YOU!"
Like the coward it was, the Mage ducked under a few rocks, which I assumed led into a domain by the energy coming from within the cracks.
"Damn... Klee, we're going to have to go in there, but im not sure you'll be safe. You should probably wait out here." I hurriedly explained as I examined the entrance.
With mild hesitancy, Klee clutched her fists with determination.
"No! I'll be fine! I wanna go in too, Klee is a big girl! Come on Mr. and Mrs. Honorary knights! Let's goooo!"
Her intuition surprised me that's for sure.
Plus, I wouldn't mind someone with a pyro vision coming along with us.
Rushing past me, Klee proudly burst through the entranceway of the domain, Paimon following after her.
I looked to Aether, who was in deep thought, clutching his chin with his hand.
I couldn't quite hear what he was saying, only fragments.
"m.. an...mrs..."
"Aether, Hurry! Only Paimon went after Klee, and im pretty sure she can't carry the weight of a watermelon!"
My yell snapped him out of his trance as he jolted forward.
Locking eyes with me, he looked me over before nodding firmly and running with me into the domain.

The domain was pretty easy to get through.
But that wasn't surprising since we had a literal arsonist with us.
Klee was incredibly strong. So strong, that I think she's landed on my 'do not anger' list.
I'd write about her since she's someone is never want to forget.
Eventually, we caught up with the pyro abyss mage that had stolen Klee's precious treasure.
"HEY, GET DOWN HERE. HACKS I SAY! HACKS!"
The abyss mage was flying above us all.
Even though Aether had anemo powers I doubted he could fly high enough to reach the Abyss mage in this state.
And Paimon... Well, she wouldn't have been able to do anything.
'Man... Why can't I fly like before! As soon as he comes down here, I'll knock that mage senseless.'
I was already planning his funeral in my head.
"MWAHAHAHAH! HAHAHAHA!" The mage laughed at us from above. "Oh, the human proclivity to gossip has provided us with everything that we need!"
The mage continued his rant about how we humans were dumb enough to let him get powerful.
His monologing was boring, and im pretty sure I started snoring in the middle of one of his sentences.
Maybe for like, 2 or 3 seconds, I don't know, my brain overloaded, and destroyed some more memory cells.
"-Now what do we have here- a flame symbol? MwahahahhAAHHAHAHAH-"
BANG
.
.
.
"PFFFFTTTT-"

"I turned myself in."
Well, that took a turn.
And I was so proud of her too.
After the Mage went kablooey(which I very much enjoyed), Klee had run back to Mondstadt, claiming that she was in big trouble.
Let me tell you, this girl ran fast because as soon as we were out of the domain, she was no longer in sight.
Though she knew where she had gone, so here we are, back at Jean's office.
"*sob* m- mah- bomb... I hurt someone!"
Klee was close to crying as she hung her head in shame in front of Jean.
The woman gave her that motherly look, you know the one, of disappointment and impatience.
"Klee." Jean started angrily, "I need you to answer me. You said that someone was injured. Where are they?"
At this point, even I felt like I was getting scolded by the tall blond.
Hurriedly rushing to Klee's side, I hugged the small girl in my arms.
"nooOOoOoOOoO! You'll have to take me into officer! Send me to the gallows but not her! Anyone but her! Just take me!!" I cried dramatically.
Hearing a facepalm and sigh, I realized Aether had moved to my side as well, maturely explaining to jean about what happened.
Yes, that may have been the best way to explain, instead of sacrificing my freedom to the Dandelion Knight, but I wouldn't have minded either way...
"I see... So no one is injured yes? Then... Well... This was an oversight on my part. I did not tell you these things before because you were still young."
Admitting her own faults, Jean apologized to Klee for making her feel bad when she had actual done a good deed.
Klee who was still confused about the situation looked up at Jean with Doe eyes.
The Blond sighed.
"In light of your contribution on this matter, I will allow you to take part in the next Ludi Harpastum."
Now that, Klee did understand.
The girl's eyes lit up like fireworks as she raved about Ludi Harpastum in excitement.
Jumping up and down in a childlike manner, she pumped her fists into the air, smiling like no tomorrow.
"Big sis! Please tell me you're coming to Ludi Harpastum too!"
Running up to my legs, She hugged them and stared at me with wide eyes.
"Ah- I uh-" I couldn't help but stutter as I took the cuteness overload of being called Big sis.
Because of this, Paimon intervened, matching the girl's excitement for me.
"Whoop-de-doo! Happy ending!"
Though, the light-hearted moment was soon put to an end with Jean's intervention.
"Except..."
"Except what?" Paimon asked
Turning to the small girl in front of her, Jean's eyes wavered with uncertainty.
"Klee. Where did you hide the treasure, to begin with?"
The question was simple, but the dread on Klee's face was clear as day.
"I-.. uh.."
"We're you trying to blow up the fish in Starfall lake again?"
The same motherly tone resurfaced.
Klee ducked her head at the words, waving her hands around as if to deny the claim.
But it was too late.
Jean had caught on to her lie before we were able to save her.
"Klee." The disappointment in her voice was heavy.
With a sigh, Klee grumbled, "ill see myself to solitary confinement."
With that, she left the room in a hurry, rushing off to her designated room.
I looked at her go from where I stood.
Raising a hand, I saluted the little soldier as she marched her way to her 'cell.'
"Bad ending."
I whined as a single tear escaped my eye.
