Zachary and Xanthos were being escorted to Sabrina's cell with about a dozen guards. Once they found themselves in front of Sabrina's cell, they found themselves surrounded by another set of dozen guards. The head enforcer leading the guards spoke; " We will be waiting to accompany you back. Please dont be offended by the number of guards watching you enter the compound. As you are aware, we , prison enforcers have orders to accompany all members of the army visiting these highly important criminals only for the benefit of the visitors. If a criminal escapes, the investigation process to shortlisr suspects wont include visitors who have supervised visits. So this is for covering you just in case ...."
Xanthos spoke harshly " If you know what's good for you, I suggest you hold your tongue right there. Stop re telling your superiors regarding the rules. We know it all. I suggest you keep your eyes open to spot any foreign intruders. Now we will take as long as we wish inside this prison cell. You will wait here outside. We will leave when we feel like it. You don't disturb us or you will be begging on your knees soon for your life. Is that clear."
Zachary felt sorry for the guards who looked as pale as chalk and shakily nodding their heads. They knew who Xanthos was and had witnessed what his older sibling, commander Xavier was capable of first hand. No one surely now was going to disturb them.
As Zachary and Xanthos entered the cell, the door was sealed immediately. Behind them and the unconscious and bound form of Sabrina on a bed in the corner became visible.
Zachary sighed in relief as he felt healtier waves from Sabrina. She hadnt been tormented too much today., Maybe because the focus was on Elisha and Oberon. If those golden strings were removed from around her wrists, she could be even better of course. but those ties that bound her hands to the headboard of the bed were almost compulsary. Only healers could instruct yo remove them if there was threat of death only.
Zavhary turned to Xanthos and spoke " You know, you didn't need to threaten them. Those poor souls were shaking like leaves because of your threat. Don't intimidate them like this again."
Xanthos spoke " I have my way. You have yours. Just keep out of my business Zachary and I will also keep out of yours. I could lecture you for using peaceful methods, but I don't. Do I? Since you are Zelina's brother, I am trying hard to ignore your lack of faith in my descent Ronas approved methods. So I recommend you to keep such complaints hidden from others if you know what's good for you."
Zachary narrowed his eyes " Is that a threat?"
Xanthos sighed " Take it any way you want. I don't like us to argue about this now. Zelina is waiting for me right now. Go ahead. Knock out that traitor on the bed and put her in a deep coma. If I detect Xavier getting close, then I will distract him. I am going to stand next to the door. Go on then man. Now is not the time to try to settle our differences in applying violence in situations. Go on then. Don't tempt me to put her in a coma myself. I warn you. I don't hold back. I may damage her brain too in the process and then she won't woke up in a very long time."
Zachary shook his head " I don't understand what Zelina sees in you. Sabrina is her best friend. How can you speak about her like this."
Xanthos spoke " Past tense. Sabrina was her friend. No more. Sabrina is an enemy of Arkansas now. Don't get me started. Get on with it. Trust me if Xavier finds out we are here to ruin his fun right now, then I would be the least of your worries. He is going to put us on night shifts for months. Believe me. Do it man. Get it over and done with. Put Sabrina in a coma so Xavier can't get any screams out of her even if he tried. This would ruin his plans for sure. He likes to hear screams. When he walks in, I tell you that those guards who are out there would have hell to pay. He is going to take it out on them."
Zachary shrugged " I am pretty sure out backsides would be on the line too for this. So don't be too optimistic that we get away with this."
Xanthos smirked " We are interrogating and tormenting an enemy of Arkansas according to protocol. Xavier won't be mad at us for doing this. But he would slaughter us if he finds our we did this deliberately to save her life."
As the youngsters were talking loudly, it started to wake Sabrina up. She was in a deep sleep but the noise was too loud to ignore. As Sabrina opened her eyes and spotted Zachary and Xanthos in the room, she gasped. He did expect Xanthos here but not Zachary. Normally tormenting prisoners never interested him. She waited silently for Zachary to acknowledge her.
Zachary was looking at Xanthos with an unreadable expression. He wanted to respond but thought against it. He then turned and walked to Sabrina's bed and froze as he noticed she was awake. He orefered it if she was not conscious for when he was casting the spell. He really wanted to hold her hand and comfort her but witg Xanthos in the room that was not an option.
Sabrina spoke first " Gentleman, to what do I owe this double visit pleasure from you. Are you here to torment me in pairs."
Xanthos narrowed his eyes as he was leaning back against the door " Be quiet girl. Don't tempt us. We are here to save your life. Xavier is after your blood. That boyfriend of yours got himself captured by some warrior pack members. My long lost brother was spotted amongst them and he happened to be the one to snatch your dear Octavian. So Xavier thinks you are number one suspect of knowing why Octavian was the only captive they took and where they might be. Xavier won't rest until he finds Xander by any means. So to cut the story short, he was going to come see you tonight and torment you to death. But since your have Arkansan blood and we think Xavier is taking it too far, we are saving your life by putting you in a coma."
Sabrina laughed bitterly " Since when does a prisoners well being concern you Xanthos. You are one heartless monster. What's in it for you to save a life?"
Xanthos was furious now. He started walking closer to Sabrina and spoke in a threatening tone " Watch it. You are right. I couldn't care less about scum like you. But Zelina does. Part of me wants her to learn from this and watch you die. I am not very fond of you being kept alive and well here. Zachary is more on your side. If you speak out of turn one more time, I will show you what happens to those that insult me."
Zachary blocked Xanthos's path and put his hand on his chest " Enough. Xanthos. Why don't you wait outside. I will finish up quickly here. Killing Sabrina won't help your relationship with Zelina. Believe me. It's not worth it man."
Xanthos spoke directly to Sabrina " You are so lucky. I don't know what my girlfriend saw in you to call you one of her best friends. Scum such as yourself don't deserve anything in this world. It's your lucky day, you traitor." He then teleported outside the cell.
Zachary turned and liked at Sabrina apologetically " Ignore him. I am sorry we have to meet like this. Xanthos is right about Xaviers threat to your life. I am here to put you in a coma for afew days so Xavier won't touch you. As you know he is sadistic. He likes his victims alive and well as he interrogates them and likes to hear them scream. A coma is a temporary solution to save you."
Sabrina spoke " You don't need to do this. As you said, it is a temporary solution. He will kill me under torment either way. You would be delaying the inevitable."
Zachary shook his head " Is that what you think? You really believe I would allow you to continue to get hurt. I am planning to save you. I just don't know how yet. I won't let them kill you, I won't. I owe Octavian that much."
Sabrina looked saddened " Is it true then? Octavian is gone. Warrior pack have abducated him? He is their prisoner now. Isn't he?"
Zachary nodded sadly " He can handle it. I am sure. He is tough. So are you. But this captivity is just too extreme. I am so sorry for what I about to do. You won't wake up in a while unless they bring Tiberious here which I doubt they would. They won't bother the Ronas advisor for an insignificant interrogation in the captive area."
Sabrina nodded. Then Zachary spoke " Please forgive me. It may sting a little bit at least. I am really sorry." He then waved his hands and cast a spell. Yellow sparks suddenly surrounded Sabrina. Suddenly she started breathing heavily and started to shake. Then within seconds, her eyes closed and she fell into a deep coma.
Just when Zachary turned around, Xanthos came in " She is knocked out yet or not." he then noticed Sabrina's limp form. " I was worried you were making out with her or something by now. What took you so long. Lets go now."
Zachary rolled his eyes " No need to be making assumptions. I have my eye on another girl anyway. Don't ever taunt me about my love life. And yes all done. Lets her out of here"
Xanthos smirked " Oh. Touched a nerve. Did I ? Zachary is in love at last. Who is it then?"
Zachary spoke " You will have to wait and see."
As Zachary and Xanthos teleported to the other side, guards were waiting. They were taken back to the lobby of leadership building and were left there.
Xanthos spoke " see you at the feast. I will go pick up my girl."
Zachary spoke " Before you go, let me give you some friendly advice. Don't over step the mark when trying to deter Zelina from approaching Serena as a friend. Zelina is her own person. She can make her own judgements. I am sure she knows the risks."
Xanthos spoke " Keep out of it. It's my buisness as what I do with my girl. If you insist too much on me being soft on her about this, then I would seek Sean's help. Unlike you, he agrees with me on such extreme approaches. I am sure you don't want your big brother on your sisters case. Brotherly love can really show her tough love. Trust me. I can be gentler than him. Conversation ended. I don't wish to discuss this any more. See you at the feast."
Zachary shook his head and as he was about to protest, Xanthos teleported away. Zachary sighed. It was pointless arguing with Xanthos. He was really stubborn. he had no idea why Zelina was putting up with him for so long. She could easily break up with him if she wished. Xanthos would have been furious but he would have never dared harm Zelina for leaving him out of fear of Sean. Zachary was starting to doubt his sister's judgement now. Xanthos's actions were becoming more extreme and more brutal as days went by. Only time could tell how long, that relationship could last.
