Okay so this is actually my redone version of my first Dabi fanfic titled: Second Chances. This part is around my usual length...but part two is a biitttttt longer.

Note: I know what canonically happened to Touya, I changed it a bit to fit he plot line of this story (duh) and also I came up with the concept of there being a hill by their house before I even fucking read about it so I am a psychic apparently too...go me!

I hope you guys enjoy!

---

Your small hands quietly opened the window as you crawled out, taking the little backpack out with you. Your shoes squeaked a bit in the light drizzle of rain, but you were used to it at this point.

Not many people on this side of town questioned why there was a six year old wandering around at night, but you made sure to avoid them anyway.

"Ten." You whispered to yourself, sneaking away from another foster home you had been in for only a week.

This was how it had been your whole life. You never knew your parents or anything about them, so you were thrown into orphanages and foster homes more times than you could count.

This time you hoped they wouldn't catch you, they wouldn't find you.

You were tired of seeming like a replacement child, like someone they took just to feel better about themselves. You wanted a home, a family, perhaps that's why when you ran into a white haired female in the store, it seemed to be fate.

You had snuck in, taking a few crackers and putting them in your bag to steal. They never payed attention anyway so what did it matter?

"Excuse me? Is your mother around here somewhere? A family member?"

Your head turned to the kind voice, your eyes meeting gray ones that were shrouded in worry. You shook your head, getting ready to run and leave until she crouched down beside you.

"Are you hungry?" She asked, seeing that you were standing in the aisle right in front of the Oreos. You nodded, seeing her glance around a bit.

"Let's take you up tot the front and see if we can find someone-"

"No!" You shouted, her eyes widening in shock as you glared up at her. "No police men!" She gave you a sad look, able to tell that something was wrong by just the way you looked.

"Did you run away?"

You slowly nodded.

"Do you do this often?"

You nodded again.

She furrowed her brows a bit, not sure what to do with a child who clearly has a fear of the police and has no guardians around. "I run away from fake parents." You suddenly said, crossing your arms.

"Fake parents? Are you adopted?"

"Foster." You corrected with a grumpy tone to your voice. "They don't want me. They just like to brag."

She raised a brow, "Brag? They take you in just to brag about having you?" You nodded once more, "First house they have me and ten other kids! Second house they only talk to me when I'm hungry! Third house they only take me places to talk about them!"

Her expression softened. No wonder you didn't want the police, they would just throw you back in another home.

"If the police find me I will be stuck in an orphanage!" Your eyes started to water. You didn't want to be back in one of those places again. Footsteps came around the corner and the lady's demeanor quickly changed.

"Alright sweetie, which Oreos do you want?"

The person looked between both of you as you played along and pointed to a box and watching her smile, "Good choice! Come on now. Let's get home for dinner." She stood up and held out her hand for you to take.

You reluctantly grabbed onto it as she led you to the checkout. You stayed beside her, watching as she payed for the groceries and then led you out of the building.

"What is your name?" She asked, seeing your big eyes flick up to her.
"(Y/n)." You muttered, watching her smile at the response. "What a lovely name...mine is Rei." She stuck out her hand for you to shake it, watching as you looked around.

"How about this (Y/n). How about you come and stay with me and my family? I can't legally adopt you because then they would find out, but you can at least have a home."

You looked at her suspiciously, "Why?"

She let out a sweet laugh, "I can't in good conscious let you wander out here or go back to those miserable houses. I also have a son around your age who I think will enjoy some company."

"What is his name?"

"Touya." She said, taking your hand as your small one slowly wrapped around it. You didn't really have a better option, either way someone else would call them on you if she didn't...but you had a good feeling about her.

"Alright (Y/n), let's go home."

____________PRESENT DAY____________

You sat on the rooftop of a building in downtown Mustafu. It was a rather slow night, not much happening in regards to villian work as surprising as that sounded. The worst thing you had today was a group of stupid kids trying to steal a few things from a local store.

As hectic as this job was, you almost preferred the chaos as opposed to the boredom that overcame you every time something wasn't happening.

You stood up with a sigh, walking from rooftop to rooftop as your shift was almost over. As you looked down on the cars and people below, you couldn't help but notice how...
peacefully oblivious...some of them were.

They didn't have the constant looming threats over their heads, and even when they did, they just relied on you hero's to take care of it.

You didn't mind that much, but your main motivation to become a hero was to protect your family no matter the cost. You had already lost one of the most important people in your life  10 years ago.

You swore to yourself that you would always be there to stop it...it would never happen again.

You had never said it to him, nor had he said it to you, but you both even grew to love each other. Despite that, you never got a chance to kiss him, to admit your feelings...he was just...gone.

The sound of a gunshot filled your ears, it was unusual for guns to be used nowadays, but it was still never a good thing to hear. It was coming from a tucked back alley, which you quickly dropped into only to see a man pinning another one against the wall.

From the looks of it, the one who was currently being interrogated was who fired the shot, but clearly it missed or wasn't very effective.

"Where. Is. The money?" The cold voice asked, a hand pressing even tighter against the mans throat. "I-I told you! I don't kn-!!!" The pressure on his jugular increased, his breaths sputtering out into a cough.

"I don't have time for this. Either you tell me where it is or I'll handle it my way..."

The sparks of blue flames danced around his fingertips, starting to burn on his skin before you interrupted. "Put him down. Now!"

The male only groaned and aimed his hand at you, directing his fire straight at you which you easily avoided. At least you could thank Enji for one thing.

"Don't be a pain. I'm just asking him a few questions....right?" His dull yet jagged nails dug into the other mans skin, drawing blood. "Yes, yes!" He cried, gripping at his wrist.

The arrogance in his face as he looked back to you was undeniable. "See?"

"I will say this one more time...Let. Him. Go." Your face was covered in a mask, so he couldn't see your expression but you could see his as he rolled his eyes and dropped the man, knowing he would just find him later.

"Happy now?"

"No, you aren't off the streets yet." You growled, taking a stance as he moved his hand. "So be it."

His fire shot toward you again as you quickly dodged, throwing a pile of trash at him as a distraction that he quickly disintegrated as you grabbed his wrist.

You pinned one of his arms up against the wall, the other pressing onto your shoulder and burning straight into your skin. You kept in your scream and punched him before giving him a knee to the gut. Throwing him to the ground, he quickly got up again and wiped his nose as a sadistic smile came to his face.

"God you're a bitch..." He looked at the obvious burn on your shoulder that barley seemed to make you flinch. "...you can play with fire though."

"I've had some practice." You said, swinging your leg at him and kicking him straight in the side. His fire grazed past your face, the sheer closeness of it made it feel like you were melting.

You stumbled back, avoiding the fire once again before you kicked him back into a brighter side of alley. As he stood up, you marched toward him and grabbed his collar and yanked his face toward yours.

Your heart smashed in your chest, lungs failing as you looked into the vibrant teal eyes.

Touya?

You thought, right before he grabbed your wrist and burned your skin. You let him go, grabbing your arm as he quickly stood up.

"Hate to leave so soon, but you know how it is..." He said, stuffing his hands in his pockets as his spikey black hair fell in front of his face. "...See ya."

He vanished around the corner, your legs feeling weak as you fell against the wall. "It can't be....you're just seeing things." You muttered, looking over your reddened wrist and feeling the pain start to rise on your shoulder.

"But he had fire...and his eyes were his eyes." You winced at the growing pain. "I should tell Rei. No, I shouldn't...what if it wasn't him? She will be crushed all over again."

You slid down to a sitting position as you grappled with your feelings.

Touya, your best friend growing up, had died in a fire when he was only 13. He was your confidante, the only one you trusted...and you were everything to him.

Looking at your wounds again, you sighed.

"Fuck...I have to go to a hospital."
________________

A few days later you were walking around the streets trying not to itch at the healing skin.

You were off today, so you had been walking around and just trying to find something to do to pass your time. Shoto, Natsuo, and Fuyumi were at school, Enji was NOT a fucking option...Rei was.

You hadn't visited her in about two weeks because of the hectic schedule you had, so you decided to go and visit since the rehab clinic she was at was close anyway.

At the thought of her, the events flashed in your mind of that night. Those turquoise eyes you hadn't seen in so long glimmering at you like they were masking a broken man.

You couldn't help but wonder that if it was Touya, and if he had known it was you, would he still have acted the same?

Your phone started buzzing in your pocket, you quickly picked up to answer it seeing that it was Shoto himself. "Sho? I thought you were in class?"

"I'm on lunch." He replied simply, shushing a few classmates in the background. "I wanted to ask you if you wanted to come over for dinner tonight? Fuyumi is making Okonomiyaki and the school allowed her to pick me up."

You felt your stomach growl at just the thought of food, especially cooked by Fuyumi. "Sure, are we meeting at her apartment?"

"Yeah, at 6."

You smiled, "Then I'll be there." Shoto was happy you were coming as he said a quick goodbye when Bakugo entered to room rather loudly. You chuckled and put your phone back in your pocket only to smell a strong whiff of smoke.

"Fire!" A few people yelled, running around the corner. You quickly ran towards the scene only to see that the hospital you were heading to was burned up on one whole side.

You rushed toward the building, instructing people to get away from the fire and smoke as you ran inside. "Get to the exit!" You directed to the nurses and other staff who were wheeling patients out in chairs or escorting them on foot.

"We need help!" A man shouted, your attention turning to a wing of the building that was starting to burn. "What's wrong?" You asked, watching a small group of people trying to break through one of the hospital doors.

"The emergency locks kicked in and all access to the rehab ward and infirmary have been blocked!"

You didn't have much time to panic over Rei as you knew she could fend off the fire for herself if necessary. "I want everyone to step back!" They did as told, watching as you used your quirk to open the doors in the least restrained ways possible.

"I want you four in the infirmary and your two with me in rehab!" You said, sending groups down the separate halls. You opened doors and moved away debris so people could get out, the smoke becoming denser and denser as fire neared.

You got to Reis room, kicking in the door to see her huddled with a few other patients as she used her quirk to cool the room around them. "(Y/n)!" She said, watching as you quickly came over and helped them all up.

"Is this all of them?" You asked her, watching as she nodded. You took her hand, "Alright, everyone stay low and try not to breath in the smoke."

You guided them out of the hall, having to assist a few of them of getting around and over objects as you made your way out of the building. Once you were outside, you all coughed your lungs out, Reis arms wrapping around you as the building continued to burn.

"Is everyone out?" You asked breathlessly, ready to run back inside at a moments notice. One of the staff was walking around and thankfully accounted for every patient, nurse, doctor, janitor, and technician along with many others.

"We don't know what happened...one minute everything was fine then this huge fire just started."

You knew if it was someone, it wasn't the man you saw yesterday as his flames were blue and would have spread much faster. "Are you alright?" Rei interrupted amongst the large amounts of chatter.

"Yeah, I'm okay...how about you? Are you okay?" You asked, looking over her face as she gave you a loving smile. "I'm perfectly okay...you were very brave. Thank you."

At her small praise, your heart got just a little bit lighter.

Before you could reply, a loud cackle filled your ears, everyone's eyes darting up to see three villain's come out from the flames. You instantly took a defensive stance in front of Rei before you started to wonder...

Where the hell is everyone else!?

"They were right! There is a Todoroki here!!" One of them cheered, Reis eyes widening as she tightly gripped your hand and stood beside you once again. "I don't know who you are, but if you only wanted me there was no reason to attack all these innocent people!"

"But it's so much more fun that way!" One of them said as another neared you both. His tail split off into three sharp daggers before you shoved Rei out of the way. They fired at you one after the other.

One grazed your side, the other your arm, and the third stabbed into your leg. They quickly pulled back, the man grumbling at your intervention. "THOSE WEREN'T MEANT FOR YOU!"

"(Y/n)!!" Rei cried, running over to you as you collapsed onto the floor from the lack of a leg. You felt the blood run down your skin, teeth clenching together as you attempted to stand only to fall once more.

"Perrrffecttttt." The man approaching you said, before Rei's face contorted into frustration. "Stay away!" She yelled, a wall of ice building as her motherly instincts kicked in like adrenaline.

The wall would hold them off foe a while, but not long enough. You were dozing in and out of consciousness as she helped you stand and started pulling you to the only place that was safe.

UA.

Meanwhile, at the school itself, the students rambled on at ate their lunch.

There was a large explosion outside the gates just as Rei squeezed your hands. The screams of people filled her ears as her and Recovery Girls eyes snapped to the door.

Rei quickly stood and ran outside the room to look out the large windows. There was a huge fire encasing the front of the school, the main entrance being completely blocked by strong blue flames.

"Oh god..." She said, watching as people frantically ran away from the growing fire. She rushed down stairs to find her family despite Recovery Girls calls. Once Rei got outside, she immediately found Natsuo and Fuyumi near the gate.

"Are you both alright?" She asked, checking them over as they nodded. Shoto came running over, pulling a wounded Midoryia alongside him. "You need to get inside, all of you."

Rei looked over Shoto, seeing the small scratches on his face as she took his hand. "So do you! I'm not letting another one of my sons die!" Shoto was about to object until Enji came up behind him. "He's a hero, this is what his job is."

Rei snapped at look toward him, "You will not be apart of harming our children anymore!" Despite how worn and battered he was, Enji felt his heart twist at his wife's visible anger.

"Good to know nothing has changed..." A sarcastic voice spoke over the crackling flames.

They all turned, Shoto, Midoryia, and Enji scowling as they looked at the dark haired male. "Dabi..." Enji growled, stepping in front of his family to let his quirk activate. Shoto did the same, the other two siblings watching with fear behind them.

But Rei only stood, analyzing the figure as he stood a few feet away from them. Something about this boy was eerily familiar, but she just couldn't figure out what.

"I find this ironic. You stand in front of your family like you plan on protecting them...have you ever successfully done that?" Dabi seethed on a nonchalant manner. Enji's face was formed into a solid scowl as anger radiated off of him. "Who the hell are you to talk about my family Dabi?"

"Tsk." He said, rolling his head back as his neck popped. "You really are fucking dense..."

His hair slowly started to fade from black into a light gray. The whole family stood and watched as the gray then went to a bright white, much like Rei and Natsuo's hair.

Rei was the first one to catch on, her heart dropping in her chest as she recognized him more and more.

"...I don't understand why you of all people would call me Dabi when I have such a respectable name..."

His turquoise eyes flashed at them all.

"...Which is Touya!"

They all were frozen still. Right there before them was their scarred and long-dead family member. Enji's eyes dilated, his son had been gone for years...how was this possible?

The tips of his hair were still a dark gray, but the resemblance made it too hard to disbelieve. "Touya..." Rei whispered, her hand cupping over her mouth as she started to cry. She started walking toward him only to be pulled back by Enji.

"It's not safe." He directed.

"God...you are the biggest hypocrite I know. I was NEVER safe with you!" Dabi fumed, flames bursting out over his back as he stared down his father as he pulled Rei behind him.

"YOU DID THIS TO ME! YOU BROKE ME UNTIL THERE WAS NOTHING LEFT JUST LIKE YOU WANTED!! LOOK AT ME NOW ENDEAVOR, I HAVE ALL EYES ON ME JUST. LIKE. YOU. WANTED!"

He gestured to the helicopters in the sky that were circling and reporting on the news. There was something manic in the smile that the boy gave his father, "You wanted me to be stronger and stronger and stronger. Well here is what you wanted...so COME ON!"

He directed his fire at the family, Shoto blocking it off with his ice before it quickly melted through. "Are you SCARED NOW?!?" Dabi screamed, straining every muscle in his throat as he looked at his father.

"Get inside!" Enji said to Natsuo, the boy immediately following orders and grabbing his sisters and mothers arm. "I don't think so..." Dabi sneered, sticking out his arms and making a large circle of fire around the family before they could leave.

"This is family business...right Endeavor? So bring it on!!"

Everything around them seemed blue as the walls of fire got higher and higher. Enji stared down his son in fear along side Shoto as he slammed his palms into his chest, curling his nails into his own skin until it bled.

"THE PAST NEVER DIES! GET IT, YET?! Y'REAP WHAT YOU SOW! SO LETS TANGO, YOU AND ME- ENJI TODOROKI!!..."

He extended out his arms once more with a crazed look on his face.

"A DANCE WITH YOUR SON, HERE IN HELL!!"
_________________

You couldn't do anything but stare in horror at the blazing fire in front of you.

Everyone got out, everyone but Touya. No one knew where he was, and for some reason no one seemed to care. Rei was shattered, screaming at her husband to do something as the house started to collapse in on itself.

You knew where he was and there was nothing you wouldn't do to save him.

Your legs started picking up speed as you ran straight for the house, a few of the heros on the scene calling after you to no avail. Rei screamed for you, but it fell on deaf ears as you bursted through the front door.

You ran through the house, coughing as smoke filled your lungs and burned into your eyes. It seemed to get warmer and warmer, the flames shifting from yellow to red to blue the more you trudged on.

Finally you found it.

The door to the training room was sealed shut, debris falling over it as you screamed. "TOUYA!!! TOUYAAA!!" You shouted, slightly burning yourself as the fire sparked.

You ran around the back, ducking under a collapsed support beam before you kicked and clawed your way through one of the screens. Smoke came piling out of the room, the whole area drenched in blue as you fumbled back from the heat.

"TOUYYAA!" You cried, throat scratching from how dry it had become. With every ounce of energy you had left, you pushed your way into the furnace of a room only to see absolutely nothing.

This was the source of it. You knew he had been here, where ever he was...

That was the last thought you had before your body became overwhelmed by the heat and collapsed in the room.

You shot up from the bed, immediately feeling the sweat roll down your face as you looked around.  You were in UA...the last thing you remember was...REI.

You shot out of bed, slightly falling as your muscles in your leg hadn't quite healed yet. Using the wall as a support, you made your way out the door to go find someone only to see most of the sky shrouded in a thick smog.

The panicked cries of people filled your ears as you hobbled to the window to see the chaos below you.

Blue flames engulfed almost every inch of the entrance, but there was a large circle of it that your eyes were immediately drawn to. You recognized the red and white head of hair, your heart racing as you rapidly pushed through your pain to get to your family.

"Touya please..." Rei begged, looking at her son in desperation. "...this isn't you! You are my boy, we never meant to hurt you!" He rolled his eyes, glaring at the older woman with a vengeance. "You never did anything to stop him! You allowed what he did to me, he broke me down until I was nothing and you NEVER cared!!"

Tears streamed down her face, "I didn't know, I'm so sorry!" She pleaded, trying to approach him only to have flames tossed at her. "I don't want to fucking hear it from you!"

Touya stopped, glaring over all of them with wild eyes before locking his gaze on his father. "If you won't fight me like you've always wanted Enji, I'll just kill EVERY PART OF MY PAST WITH IT!!"

Their eyes shot open, Shoto taking a stance as the flames started to burn on his brothers calloused hands.

"TOUYA!"

His movements froze, everyone turning to see you quickly barrel through the flames and collapse on the ground. "(Y/n)! What are you doing?!" Natsuo said, rushing to your side and helping you up.

You didn't say a word as you hobbled past your family to stand a few feet in front of them. You saw the boys eyes widen just enough, flames burning in his hands as he stopped for a moment.

"(Y/n)..." His demeanor softened before it slowly returned to its previous state. "...get out of the way."

"Or what? You're going to kill your whole family? Touya this doesn't solve anything...killing your family won't change the past or what happened."

He gritted his teeth, "You don't know what I had to go through!"

"Bullshit!" You challenged, taking another small step toward him. "I was there for every second of what happened! Did you forget that we were always together??"

Touya let his flames grow, anger boiling over inside him at the mere thought of the past. "He needs to pay for what he did! So move out of the way or I'll kill you too!" You only glared at him and showed him your wrist, "You mean burn me like this? Or how about this one?" You showed him your shoulder as well.

He took a small step back, "That was you..." A flash of regret formed in his eyes. He knew deep down he would never hurt you on purpose, he wouldn't...he couldn't.

"You already did a number on me! I'm weak, injured...now would be a great time to end it all!!..." You challenged, taking another step toward him. "...You want to kill your past so badly?! Fine! I'M YOUR PAST TOO SO DO IT!"

You moved towards him and grabbed one of his hands, holding it against your neck. "Do it Touya, kill me like you said you would..." He stared at you, pressing his fingers lightly into your skin as he stared into your eyes.

"Touya! Look at this cool rock!" You cheered, picking it up from the river with your small hand. The little boy ran over to you and stood at your side, face lighting up at the sight. "Whoaa! That's so cool!"

You giggled before running into the small creek. "Whoever has the rock is the captain of the pirate ship!" You announced, watching as he quickly tried to follow you.

You chased each other up the creek until he slipped and fell face planting into the water. "Touya! Are you okay?!" You said, trekking your little legs back to where he was.

He sat up and puffed some water out his nose, watching as you crouched down to look at him. "Your dress is getting all wet." He said, watching as the bottom of it got soaked with water.

"You're soaked!" You said back, gesturing to his whole body that was covered in it. His wet red hair flopped into his face, your hand reaching out to part it like curtains.

"Can you see now?" You asked.

He cheekily grinned at you and held up the rock, "Yup!" He cheered, running away as you screamed after him. "Touya! Give it back!" You laughed.

"You'll have to catch me first!"

After chasing him for quite some time, you came to rest on top of the large hill by the house. "You know..." Touya said, looking out over the city. "...when we get older, we should go places! Like pirates did!"

You stuck out your pinky to him, "Only if you go with me."

He linked his own around yours with a bright smile, "Promise."

His fingers pressed deeper on your skin as he tried to repress the memories.

"Do it!!!" You said a bit louder.

You heard crying coming from the training room. It was something you had heard more and more frequently, but you were always warned by Rei to stay out of the business that wasn't yours.

However, a sharp reprimand from Enji caught your attention. "Get up! If you are going to be a hero you have to be stronger!" Curiosity overcame you as you peeked in the door, seeing Touya huddled into a ball as his father held a sparing staff.

His own was sitting on the floor beside him as he cried, but the look on Enji's face told him he wasn't allowed to be done yet.

"Get up." He stated firmly once more.

"I-I can't...I'm too tired to-"

"GET UP!" Enji yelled, your own body flinching as he loomed over the boy. "You need to learn how to fight of you want to be a hero! So get up and fight me!"

"Dad, I don't w-ant to...plea-"

"I'm tired of your childish excuses!" His voice boomed, seeming to vibrate the floor. Before you knew it, your feet were rushing into the room as you grabbed another staff and smacked Enji straight over the back of his head.

"LEAVE HIM ALONE!"

His hand flew to the back of his head, eyes burning with anger as they looked back to you. You were standing in front of Touya who had a look of fear in his eyes, not for himself but for you.

"If you were my child, you would have some severe repercussions..." His cold tone was chilling, but you kept your stance. "...What happens in here does not concern you. You are not a part of my family, nor will you EVER be!"

"GOOD! I don't want to be related to you ever!!" You screamed back, watching as he gritted his teeth and threw the pole before marching off to another room.

You instantly dropped yours as well, plopping down on the floor as all your anxiety hit you at once. Touya was quick to give you a reassuring hug before tears started to spill from his eyes.

"You really are stupid sometimes you know that?!" He cried into your shoulder, feeling you instantly hug him back. "I'm sorry...I just couldn't watch him hurt you anymore."

"But what if you got hurt! I don't-I don't know what I would do if you...-" He pressed his head against your neck, feeling your hand curl up in his hair. "He won't do anything to me...but I am going to protect you okay? I'll always protect you."

You felt the heat intensify on your neck, not quite burning, but like if someone took a very warm heating pad and draped it over you.

"DO IT TOUYA!!"

Rei turned as the door to her bedroom opened. "Touya? What are you doing up, it's one in the morning?" She questioned as she walked over to him and brushed back his wild hair.

"I have a question..." He muttered, tugging on the ends of his shirt. "Alright, come on." She said, leading him over to  sit on the edge of the bed with her seeing as her husband was at work.

"So what is this question?" She asked, seeing him nervously look at the floor as he swung his legs. "Uhm...how do you know when, uh-...you're in love?"

Rei's eyes widened as she looked toward her 13 year old son who asked this out of the blue. "Well, hmm...I think we all have different versions of love, so I am not sure I can say exactly why."

Touya's cheeks turned pink, "Uhm...well, there is this girl I have liked for a while now and every time I see her it's like I feel all...weird." He rubbed his stomach, watching the smile come to the corners of his mothers face.

"Would this girl happen to be someone I know?"

Touya nodded, listening as she asked another question. "Have you been friends with her for a long time?" He nodded again, already knowing she knew.

"It's (Y/n) alright mom!" He groaned, trying to get the cheeky grin off her face. He hugged him tightly, "I know, I figured you two would end up together...have you kissed?"

His face went as red as his hair, "E-ew! Wh-at no way! She has like...cooties!" Rei laughed gently and nudged him, "It's okay if you haven't. It can be scary sometimes."

She watched him take a small breath, "Should I tell her? I mean...what if she doesn't feel the same way and she likes someone else...someone stronger."

Rei put her hands on his, giving them a gentle squeeze as she smiled. "Touya you don't have to be the strongest to get her to like you. I'm sure she feels the same way toward you and is just as scared."

His eyes lit up, "Really!? You think so?"

"I know so." She assured, pressing a quick kiss to his head before he jumped off her bed. "I'm gonna go to sleep so I can tell her tomorrow night after training! Bye mom!" He said, zipping out the door.

Neither of them had any idea that that would be day his father pushed him an inch to far.

5 minutes after his father had left the training room is when it had started. You were all set up to eat, everyone waiting on Touya to come out as a scowl rested on Enji's face.

But when a large fire started, Rei immediately focused on getting her three children out, hoping that you and Touya would follow behind.

He had never used his powers so extreme, so none of you knew it was him and you were all outside witnessing the blue flames engulf the building...and it was too late.

The final memory flooded his brain like a tsunami, wrecking every other thought in sight as he recalled everything he never got to say.

All the things he felt for you were rising even more powerful than before was for years he had repressed them.

In an instant, he used his grip on your neck you pull you closer and mold your lips together in a kiss. Your eyes shot open, hands grabbing his shirt as you gasped. You thought he was actuakly going to do it, but as you processed what he was doing, you melted into his touch.

His fingers loosened on your neck, sliding around to tangle in your hair as the blue flames died down almost instantly.

His bottom lip was coarse, rough...it felt strange compared to his normal top lip, but it barley phased you at all. Touya's tongue slid past your teeth, your eyes opening for a moment to finally see the impending heroes, rushing to take him.

You saw a dark swirl form behind him, a portal of some sorts. You had two options: let him surely get arrested and sent to prison, or get him through the (hopefully) safe portal.

Deciding to take your chances, you pulled away from him and looked into his eyes. "I'm sorry..." You shoved him back, his body falling into the portal right before anyone could reach him.

Dabi felt the hard wood smack against his skull as he was suddenly in a musky bar. He watched the portal quickly close, the boy scrambling to his feet to reach it but to no avail as it was simply a wall.

"..." He stayed silent, knowing exactly who did that. "Why..." He asked, gritting his teeth together.

"I would at least expect a thank you. Shigaraki doesn't want you anywhere near the League after that stunt." Kurogiri said, nodding to the small TV in the corner that had the whole scene recorded.

"She was right there...I had her, I fucking had her!" Touya yelled, hitting the wall with the side of his fist. "Who was she?" Kurogiri asked, cleaning off his usual glasses.

"None of your damn business." Touya replied before storming out of the building and slamming the door.

Meanwhile, back at UA, luckily none of the heroes had seen you kiss him or shove him back, but some of them questioned why you did nothing to stop him.

You didn't reply, instead just turning and walking past everyone, including the family, to go back to the nurses room.

You sat there for a few minutes on the side of the bed, still being able to see Touya whenever you closed your eyes. Your eyes trailed up to the door as it clicked open, one by one, everyone from the family came in before Natsuo closed it behind him.

"How long did you know he was alive?" Fuyumi asked you first, seeming to think you had been hiding it from everyone. "I didn't know. I encountered him a few days ago but I thought I was just seeing things..." You looked to Rei. "...I didn't want to say something I didn't know for certain."

She gave you a small smile, wiping at her reddened eyes once more as she looked to you. "I understand."

"How." Enji lowly stated, your eyes drawing up to him. "How did you stop him?" It seemed like he was accusing you of being in cahoots with him even though you literally just explained you just found out it was Touya.

"Maybe, because I actually cared about him! He would never listen to anyone, especially not you!" You gestured to him, watching the flames on his beard light up. "He wouldn't even listen to his own mother! There is no way in hell I'll believe that you didn't have some intention behind all that!"

Rei put a hand to his chest, "She was there for him more than any of us were. He cared about her deeply and would never hurt her...she isn't associated with us as his 'past'...at least not the one he remembers."

You sulked into yourself, not noticing the youngest boy whos eyes were on you like glue.

"I think we all need to just take a minute to process...some of us, more than others." Rei said, giving Enji a look before shifting her demeanor to send you a smile.

Natsuo and Fuyumi followed behind her, Enji leaving with a huff as he stared down Shoto. "I'll be there in a minute." He replied, watching his dad practically slam the door.

It was quiet once again. The only noise was the ticking of the small clock on the wall. You hadn't moved, eyes still locked to the floor and remaining there even as Shoto took a seat beside you.

"Can you tell me about him?" He muttered, looking to his own hands as your head slightly turned. "About Touya?"

He nodded, "I don't remember him much. I know he used to smile a lot...at least when our dad wasn't around." His voice was soft, almost a whisper. You had never thought about it from Shoto's view. He had lost his eldest brother at such a young age that there was hardly anything to remember him by.

"Well, for one thing he was a super big softie...I mean like the biggest heart I had ever seen." You slightly chuckled, seeing Shoto lift his gaze to listen to you the whole time.

"He would cry at almost anything. When I gave him a flower once he started to cry, and then he cried again when it died...He liked pirates, we used to go down to this creek behind the hill near the house and play in the water....He was generous. When I first arrived at your house with Rei he immediately gave him his favorite stuffed animal."

Shoto smiled, watching your expression light up as you talked about him. His eyes moved over your face before he asked his next question a bit more solemnly.

"What happened?"

You sighed, you knew no one ever really explained it to him as Enji made a very firm stance on the topic. But you frankly didn't give a shit what that old asshole had to say.

"We were about to have dinner once your dad and Touya got done training. We were all sat at the table waiting for him to come out and join us when we smelt the smoke. Rei acted on impulse and immediately grabbed you, Natsuo, and Fuyumi...I guess under the assumption Touya would make it out because he was 13..."

You paused.

"...But he didn't. We didn't realize until we were all outside that it was his quirk that had started it. I ran to go find him, but I didn't see him anywhere and I guess I passed out...when I woke up they told me all they found was his jaw bone, most everything else of him most likely turned to ash."

Shoto sat in silence, furrowing his brows together in confusion and frustration. "Why didn't my dad go after him? Why didn't someone try and go with you?" You shrugged your shoulders. "I never asked...I didn't want to hear excuses from them."

The room was hushed once again. It stayed like that for a while, both of you sitting in a comfortable silence as you processed it all.

"Did you love him?" Shoto asked once again, noticing the quick breath you took in before you swallowed. "Yeah...I still do if you'd believe that."

"Even after all this?"

"I wouldn't if I didn't know him so well...he is hurting, he has been for years but he always tried to be strong. For me, Rei, you...and god knows he tried to be strong for Enji. Stronger then he ever could be."

Shoto hummed and turned to face you more. "I don't know how to feel...it feels like I should be mad at him for what he's done to me, to my class, and now what he threatened to do the my-...our family. But at the same time I understand why he is mad at us..." You went to face him as well, "Shoto, I guarantee you he his more furious with Enji then actually mad at any of you. You, Natsuo, and Fuyumi did nothing wrong...and Rei did all she could. He just isn't thinking clearly right now."

You rubbed his back, pulling him into a small hug. "Your dad will hate me for telling you this but, it is your choice Shoto. It is your decision on whether or not to forgive him...not mine, not your moms, and certainly not your fathers."

He gave you a firm nod, his hair bouncing with his serious expression. There was a lot of thinking Shoto had to do...hell, you all had to do. But somewhere in your gut you just felt like everything would be okay.

Touya sat alone on the roof of some random club. A cigarette hung from his lips while he stared off into the bright lights of downtown miles away.

A bottle of alcohol occupied his right hand, occasionally raising to his lips to replace the cigarette.

It had been a month since he had seen you anywhere, not on the news or in person. Thus, he was here, drowning himself to relieve any pain he felt as his brain was shattered.

"Figured I'd find you here."

"Fuck off Twice. I don't want to deal with your shit. Anything that crusty ass blue-haired piece of shit needs to say, he can say to my face."

Touya took a long drag, blowing the smoke out his nose like an agitated bull. "Calm down there fire-force. I'm not here to trash talk you." Twice said, taking a seat next to him and hanging his feet off the ledge. He pulled off his mask, taking out his own cigarettes and lighting one up.

"Then why the hell are you here?" Touya asked with annoyance. Twice...or Jin, only looked at him with a small smile, "I saw the news...other people may have over looked it but I saw it. You kissed her."

Touya took another long swig, "The hell does it matter?" He asked, chucking the bottle down to the street, flipping off some people who screamed at him. "Call me old fashioned, but I think you actually like her...I mean, clearly she likes you if she saved your malformed-ass."

Touya sent him a glare as Jin chuckled, nudging him on the shoulder. "Who was she?"

The teal eyed boy stayed quiet for a moment, "Old friend."

"Just a friend?"

Touya put put his cigarette on the edge of the building. "That's all she had a chance to be before-...why the hell am I telling you this?" He grumbled, going to stand only to have Jin rest a hand on his shoulder. "Because you care about it. If it wasn't important...if she wasn't important, you wouldn't have said a word."

Sitting back down, he let his jacket rustle in the wind with his hair as he stared off into the distance again.

"We grew up together. My mom raised her, but could never legally adopt her because she ran away...I guess that was for the best though. I never saw her as a sister, for as long as I could remember I had the biggest fucking crush on her." He stopped, realizing how cheesy and stupid this sounded.

"If you think you'll get judgment from me, the ultimate hopeless romantic, you're wrong." Jin assured, glancing over to him as he put out his own cigarette.

"The day I was going to tell her how I felt...Enji just-...he broke me. He took the once chance when she was gone and broke me until I couldn't take it anymore. When he left, I snapped...I couldn't control it. Hence this shit."

Touya gestured to his arms, bringing one hand to trace over the staples in his face. "I was horrendous...I could never go back and face her. I ran, got into trouble. Drinking, smoking, crime. Everything just sort of panned out from there."

Jin nodded with an understanding hum, "I'm sorry you never got to tell her. I guess the one thing I don't understand is why the hell you're here." The boys turquoise eyes flicked up to him with curiosity, "What the hell are you on about?"

"Well, if the girl I loved kissed me back...I would be searching for her night and day."

He grumbled and pinched the bridge of his nose, "It's not that easy. She's a hero, I would have to go straight into their hub in order to even have a chance. Then what if I get caught? I'm in fucking prison and I'll never fucking see her again."

The other man nodded in thought, "She wears a mask right?" Touya gave him a look. "Yeah."

"Do you remember what it looked like?"

Touya described the mask to him, watching as he pulled out his phone and sent out a message. "What the shit was that?" He asked.

"The League aren't my only friends. I have some normal people and some...interesting, buddies. If they see her, they will tell me and I'll let you know."

The boys eyes went wide as he watched Jin stand up and wipe off his suit. "Why are you helping me with this?" Touya questioned, looking over his face as he slid on his mask once again.

"Like I said, I'm a hopeless romantic. Plus, everyone knows you're a Todoroki now, I don't really think you'll be safe without her anymore....Good luck Touya." Jin said, jumping off the roof into the dark night.

"Thanks Jin..."

You walked in the park with Rei by your side in the light of the afternoon. Your suit was tucked into a backpack you had on you just in case of an emergency like last time.

Rei had noticed how silent you had been the past month, you didn't say much about the subject and definitely avoided her husband at all costs. The only one you really spoke to was Shoto, but he was more quiet too.

The whole family was stunned into a revelation of Touya actually being alive.

"Rei...how did you let them rebuild the exact same house in the exact same spot? I mean...we thought he was dead. And they just build right over it!" You asked, shaking your head a bit in disbelief. Figuring out he was alive gave you the courage to ask so many questions you never did before.

"It was Enji's family home...it had been there for generations. I couldn't argue with him, I couldn't deal with another fight at that time." She admitted sadly, eyes dropping to the ground as you both walked.

"(Y/n), you clearly aren't happy here." Rei said, stopping you to talk with her as she took your hands. Tears started to form in your eyes as you quickly collapsed in on yourself, holding her to you as tight as you could. "I wanted to see him again...just one more time."

She rubbed your back, "One more time before what?" She questioned, feeling you shake in her arms. "Before I leave...."

Rei pulled back and looked you over. "...I can't stay here anymore. It hurts to much and if I ever saw him again I know I could never fight him." You finished, not noticing some random woman discretely snap a picture of your mask that hung from your bag.

"Where will you go?"

"Anywhere but here." You admitted, wiping the tears from your face. You expected Rei to be angry, upset, feel like you were abandoning her. But all she did was place a kiss to your forehead.

"I understand. You need to be happy, live freely...you can't do that here anymore." She took your hands in hers, rubbing over the skin with her thumbs. "Just promise me one thing."

You nodded to her. "If you see Touya before you go...tell him I love him and that I want you BOTH to follow your hearts. No matter where that will take you, I want you both to be happy." She finished, cupping your face in her hands as she also started to cry.

"I will, I promise...I have to go by your house to pick up some things first." Rei gave you a hug, "Our house...it is your home too."

With those final words, you said your final goodbyes until sometime in the future. You walked down the street, finding a dumpster before tossing the whole bag in the trash, signifying your departure from your life before.

You weren't a hero, you were just...you.

Though the walk was long, you didn't mind the trek to the house as it gave you plenty of time to enjoy the streets you had grown to know by heart. Everything started to make you question if you were doing the right thing.

You shook your head, nearing the large hill that was just blocking the view of the home. Stopping, you put your hands in your pockets before detouring off the sidewalk and onto the grass as you hiked up the hill.

The sun peaked through as you neared the top. But your movements slowed once your eyes landed on a figure just sitting in the grass.

At first you didn't recognize them at all, but the closer you got the more the spikey white hair stood out against the skyline.

A small gasp escaped you, you swore you were hallucinating when his head turned, bright eyes meeting yours before he stood.

Touya was only wearing his white shirt and jeans, it seemed the long jacket had been disguarded somewhere along the lines much like your hero suit.

"I hope you weren't about to break our promise." He said, neither of you moving as you continued to stare in disbelief. You slowly peeled one foot of the ground then the other, making your way over to him with an outstretched hand.

You feared he wouldn't be real, that this was all some stupid dream you were about to wake up from. "Touya..." You whispered, tapping your fingers lightly against his scarred jaw before slowly sliding the rest of your hand against it.

"...how did you know I-"

"I had some help...did you really think I would let you leave without me?"

Your eyes widened a bit, "Without you?" He nodded, "If you'll let me, I want to keep our pact from when we were seven. I want to be with you, wherever you go, because I-..." He stopped, seeing your eyes glimmer in anticipation.

He became overwhelmed with emotions, sadness, anger, regret, fear. Everything came up all at once. "...I love you. I have since we were kids and I never got to tell you and I've hated myself every day for it! I should have been strong enough to hold on, to not let him get to me, but I wasn't. I became a monster and couldn't even bare to let you see me."

Touya looked over his scars with shame, fearing the judgement that you would give him for everything he had done.

Your small hands came up and touched his arm, checking to make sure it didn't hurt him before you continued to feel the rough skin.

"They are just scars Touya...you are still you and that is all that has ever mattered to me because I love you too." You said with a smile, heart flying with relief as you finally confessed the words you had never said.

You could tell he was a bit shocked by the way he just looked at you as your hands cupped his jaw. "I want you to come with me...wherever we want to go we can, it doesn't matter to me." You pressed a kiss to his lips and hummed when his arms immediately wrapped around you and pulled you closer.

"Won't you be embarrassed by me? I can't hide them." He said as he took a breath, referring back to his wounds. "Touya, we live in a world where people can fly and where they look like animals...your scars will be just another normal thing."

He eagerly kissed you again, a small smile tugging on his lips with every second he was with you. You stayed like that, relishing every second of it in each others presence.

Once you pulled away, you looked up to him. "I have to get some things inside the house...do you want to wait here?" You asked, feeling him quickly grab your hand. "No." He said sternly, gripping it tighter as if you would vanish once he let go.

"I'm not leaving you again. Especially not in that house."

You nodded, before starting to walk with him down the hill. "Your mom told me to tell you that she loved you...she also said she wants you to be happy."

Touya rubbed his thumb across your hand and looked at you, "I'm already happy. I don't need much more." You gave him a small smile as the house came into view. "I hope you don't expect everything to just go away."

He sighed, "I know. I don't think I will ever forgive myself and...(Y/n), I don't know if I'll ever want a family. I just- I can't say that it is something I want."

You nodded and looked over to him, swinging your hands a bit. "I understand, but I'm just willing to go with the flow. You have every reason to not want a family, but we have time to think about that okay? We are only 23." You nudged his shoulder, seeing a smirk line his features.

"Well, I can tell you one thing I'm excited to do..."

You punched him on his shoulder, hearing him let out a small laugh that made your knees weak. "...It's just because you're so beautiful. I mean, I always thought you were pretty but...damn." He said, scanning your body out of the corner of his eye.

"Once we get far away from here." You reminded, looking up at the rather large house. Touya did his best to swallow his nerves and stayed glued to your side as he entered the house for the first time in 10 years.

While the furniture was different, the layout was exactly the same. The entrance that led into the front room before opening out through a small arch into the kitchen and living space.

"They rebuilt the exact same house." You said, seeing his eyes dart around as he looked through the rooms. "It was always so fucking difficult to find people in this goddamn house." He said, trying to keep the topic on a lighter tone for the safety of his sanity.

"That's why I moved my room next to yours, so we always knew where we were." You smiled, starting to lead him down the hall to your old room.

Rei made it a point to always make sure each child had their own room to stay in in case of emergency. In her spare time, she used to frequent Touya's room and tidy it as if he was there.

As you neared the training room doors, you expected Touya to keep walking, but he stopped in his tracks to stare at the door. "Does it look the same in there too?"

You nodded, "Pretty much."

He stayed still, looking at the wooden door before slowly reaching out and opening it. Touya let go of your hand as he stepped in, your eyes following him as you stopped in the doorway.

Touya kept his hands in his pockets, back facing you as he stood in silence. You watched as he stopped in the middle of the room, "Can I have a minute?"

Your stomach churned, "Touya I don't know if I-"

"I'll be okay..." He turned toward you, seeing the distressed look on your face. He walked towards you again and pressed a solid kiss to your lips, "...I promise."

You stuck out your pinky to him with a whisper, "Pinky promise?" With a small smile, he obliged. Your shoulders slouched as you took a few steps back and closed the door.

You went to your room and grabbed a few spare changes of clothes, some shoes and other things. As you were about to go back to Touya, you walked further in the opposite direction down to Natsuo's room, stealing a few of his clean shirts and a pair of sweat pants.

"Sorry Natsuo..." You apologized as you left his room, walking back down to go to the training room. When you came back, you knocked on the door only to see Touya sitting on the ground against a wall, toying with one of the staffs.

"Hey..." You said, hoping you weren't interrupting him in any way at all. His teal eyes lifted up to your own as he set down the staff and motioned for the spot next to him.

You dropped the bag on the floor before making your way over and sliding down on the wall. "My worst memories were in this room..." He admitted, grabbing the staff again before forcefully throwing it against the other wall.

You slightly flinched, glancing to him as he leaned his head back. "...I wanted to prove I was strong enough to him. But I guess he was right after all."

You put your hand on his leg, "You know that's not true Touya. Enji has always been like that to everyone, it was never just you." He looked down, seeming to refuse eye contact.

With conviction, you moved over to straddle his lap, forcing him to look at you. "You aren't weak Touya." Your voice was firm, assurance in your every touch as your hands ran through his hair.

With not another word, Touya kissed you. Your lips smashed together with need and love, desperate for every ounce you could both get.

You knew you had to leave soon before anyone got home, but for now, you wanted to enjoy the moment.

His hands slid under your shirt, a sigh groan leaving his lips at your soft skin. With no hesitation at all, he slid up the material, pulling it over your head as he started to bite and kiss at your neck.

"Touya..." You breathed, gasping at the roughness he displayed. His hands drummed up your sides, nails lightly scratching at the skin as he left a few dark hickeys.

"(Y/n)...lets get the fuck out of here."

You quickly nodded, moving off of him and throwing back on your shirt before he helped you up. Touya took the bag for you as you started to head out the door before you stopped.

"Wait! I have to let Rei know you're safe...it would drive her crazy if she didn't know."

You ran back in, Touya meeting you in the kitchen as you scribbled out a sweet note and left it on the counter. "I hope she sees it." You muttered, getting a peck of reassurance from the boy next to you. "She will, nothing ever gets past her."

You chuckled, "You're right about that." Taking his hand in yours, you headed out the front door once more, looking at him sweetly.

"I love you Touya."

He smiled, "I love you too."

Enji and Rei walked into the quiet house, both of them kicking off their shoes and making their way into the kitchen. Rei immediately went to pull things out for dinner, but Enji's eyes landed on a sheet of paper on the island.

Curiously, he picked it up and felt his eyes widen as he started to read.

'Dear Rei,

I am writing you this as a sort if farewell for now. But also to let you know that I found him. Well...more like he found me. I told him that you loved him and he has decided to leave with me. We will be safe together, but more importantly happy.

I love him and he loves me.

I will miss you, but I will come back...it may not be soon, but I will see you again. I don't know where we are going yet, but I really don't care. He is with me and I am with him...so that's what matters.

I love you Rei, thank you for everything you have done for me. See you soon...

-(Y/n) & Touya'

Enji gripped the note in his hand, "Rei..." He grumbled, meeting his wife's eyes as she looked down to the note and started to read. A small smile came to her face the further she got, overjoyed that you two had found each other again.

"...you let him leave? Just like that." Enji said once more, seeing her gaze become firm as it landed on him. "I will tolerate a lot of things, but I want you to listen to me well..." She pointed at the letter, both of the staring at each other as she spoke.

"...They are happy together. He is your son Enji, no matter what he has or hasn't done you cannot deny that. So if you want to call, go ahead call...but this is where you choose between your work and your family and that is final."

Rei left the note on the counter and went into another room to leave Enji to think. He reached for his phone, about to dial the number but eventually setting it down with a huff.  Looking over the note again, he sighed.

"I'm choosing family."
