As thoughts flooded his mind, Tsukishima drifted to sleep for a moment. An hour later, when the tall blonde opened his eyes he saw Yamaguchi sitting beside his bed. His head wasn't foggy as before, but it still hurt a lot.
"Where's the shrimp?"
"He went home already," Yamaguchi said not even looking at him. His attention was on his phone as he chats with his boyfriend. "How are you feeling." Yamaguchi placed his phone down, turning to the tall blonde.
Finally, Tsukishima to himself. "I'm feeling a little better, thank you." The tall blonde smiled.
Yamaguchi was shocked, he never saw Tsukki smiled like that before. He blinked fast before grabbing the soup that he heated and placed it near the table beside the bed, telling him to eat it. Tsukishima complained that his head still hurts and demanded him to be fed. The freckled boy just rolled his eyes, before telling his best friend to fix his position so he can feed him properly.
"You know, I was really surprised about your text. I wish it was on better circumstances though." The freckled boy said. "I can't remember the last time you invited me to your house. I always thought I was just forcing myself to be your friend all these years you know, so-"
"What! No! I do! I really do want your company!" Tsukishima suddenly jumped out of bed stuttering. "I'm sorry if I make you feel like that sometimes." He looked down.
"It's alright Tsukki, I understand you're just too salty sometimes." Yamaguchi smiled. "You know, Tobio was worried about you too. I think you two can be good friends,"
Tsukishima frowned after hearing that name again. And after he was feeling happy with his alone time with Yamaguchi too. Once the soup was empty, the freckled boy stood up, ready to go home. Tsukishima wanted him to stay, to sleep right beside him but he stayed quiet as Yamaguchi left for the night.
The freckled boy can't help but stare at the calendar on his phone. A date was set as a reminder, 5 days from now their first monthsary was coming. Kageyama is excited too, he wanted to do something special yet budget-friendly since he was still feeling the pain in his pocket from the reservation he made at the fancy restaurant when he confessed to Yamaguchi. So he went to the web, searching for cheap yet romantic ways to celebrate it.
Yamaguchi on the other hand was thinking of a gift to give his boyfriend as a surprise, so the next day he asked his best friend to accompany him. Yamaguchi also figured it would be a nice idea for Tsukishima to go out too in order to try to forget about his recent breakup.
The two were hopping from shop to shop to look at various items. Tsukishima can't help but feel nervous and a little tense. It felt like a date for the tall blonde and he just hopes he wasn't blushing too much. He can tell Yamaguchi is having fun too.
They settled on a stainless steel sports bottle with a tiny cow on the bottom. Yamaguchi was planning to buy Yogurt but that would be hard to wrap and he was scared it may spoil on the way. As the two head home, their hands grazed a little as they walk. Yamaguchi hasn't noticed it until Tsukishima grabbed his fingers with his pinky.
The freckled boy just laughed a little, moving his hands away. "Sorry, Tsukki!"
"It's alright, Yamaguchi." Tsukishima smiled softly.
When the freckled boy turned to his side, he noticed they stopped at a Jewelry store. His hands and faces pressed against the glass and look at the beautiful collection of rings and necklaces. One ring particularly caught his eyes, it was a simple promise ring, cheap too.
"Wait right here Tsukki! I'll be right back!" Yamaguchi chuckled before heading to the store. It didn't take long until he gets back with a paper bad on hand.
Tsukishima raised his eyebrow, noticing how excited Yamaguchi is. "You're not planning to marry him or something are you?" He snickered a little.
Yamaguchi just blushed in silence. "I don't know," He smiled playing with his fingers a little. "This is just a simple promise ring though, but who knows what future brings."
For some reason, Tsukishima just stared at the freckled boy. His eyes widened at his reaction to his question. It finally hit him. This wasn't a date. This was just a trip between two friends. At the moment, he snapped. He knew he had to do something or else he will lose the chance to be with Tadashi. So he took a deep breath and spoke.
"Do you want to come later to a party later?" He said. The tall blonde wasn't planning on going to Tendou's party but it was a good opportunity.
Yamaguchi's eyes beamed. Knowing Tsukki, it would have been a great party since he doesn't accept invitations like this. "That sounds so cool Tsukki!" He cried out. "Maybe we should invite everyone from the club! I'm sure they would-"
"Oh hell no," The tall blonde interrupted him. "I don't want to babysit those idiots. You can bring your boyfriend if you want though. Besides, it's just Tendou's."
The freckled boy always wanted to go to a party. So he immediately called his boyfriend to inform him. Tsukishima just rolled his eyes as soon as Kageyama picked up. He didn't want to see or hear them act like a couple even through the phone. As much as he tries to accept it, he just can't.
Hopefully, for the tall blonde if all goes well tonight, he can make Yamaguchi his.
Later that night, the couple arrives in front of Tendou's house. They can hear music and can see lights flickering from the window. "Stay close to me," Kageyama said, pulling his boyfriend close to him before they enter. Yamaguchi can't help but smile knowing he's going together with his boyfriend.
Tsukishima was already inside and wasn't answering his text. So the two decided to go in. They didn't even get a chance to knock on the door as Tendou immediately opened it as soon as they got near, greeting the two. "Yamaguchi! Kageyama! Glad you can make it!" He shouted. "I was watching you guys from the window! Come in, make yourselves at home! Tsukishima is in the kitchen,"
Students from different schools were there, some familiar to them, like Terushima and his gang, Aone, Oikawa, Iwaizumi, Bokuto, Akaashi, Ushijima, and the rest of the Shiratorizawa team.
Goshiki approached Oikawa to hand him some drinks. "Oh, no! For the last time, I'm not going to-" The great king shouted before turning around. "Oh, sorry, I thought you were someone else."
"I was just handing out some drinks," Goshiki said. "But yeah, you should have come to Shiratorizawa!" Tendou and the rest of Shiratorizawa just burst out of laughter.
"You'll be a great ace someday." Ushijima praised the young athlete with his emotionless voice. Goshiki's eyes shined like a fire was lit inside him.
"They're not gonna stop are they," Yamaguchi chuckled, as Kageyama's arms were wrapped around him as they were sitting on a coach.
Kageyama just smirked. "Not until they die."
Tsukishima approached the couple, handing them some drinks. "Here, you know this is a party right?" He said. "First drinks are on me,"
The two never drank alcohol before. So Yamaguchi and Kageyama made a little toast before chugging the glass in one gulp. "Ugh! I can't believe people drink this instead of milk!" Kageyama shook his head trying to get rid of the taste on his mouth.
"Not what I was expecting." The freckled boy coughed violently. "I guess this is one of the challenges of adulthood, huh?" Tsukishima smiled at the two, without saying a word.
After a few minutes, Yamaguchi's head suddenly felt spinning. It was one drink but he can feel the alcohol take its effect already. Perhaps it's like this for everyone's first time? Kageyama's head suddenly started hurting too.
"You two alright?" Tendou approached them when he noticed them. "Maybe you guys should lay off the booze. I'll go get-" As Tendou was about to grab their glass, Tsukishima took them himself.
"I'll get this to the sink." Tsukishima hurried to the kitchen, filling the glass with water first before going back. "Do you have a vacant room, Tendou?" The tall blonde started carrying his best friend. There were three rooms, one was being occupied already by Akaashi and Bokuto.
Kageyama grabbed Tsukishima's hand while his other hand was gripping his head. "Where are you taking him?" He glared at him.
"To lay his head down," Tsukishima said.
"Oh, I'll grab Tobio!" Oikawa said before helping him up. He noticed the two acting strange. "How the heck did you get drunk from just a glass?"
"Shut up!"
Tsukishima and Oikawa went upstairs, as soon as they arrived they saw the door to the other room opened. Akaashi and Bokuto were just staring at them, their hair was messy and some of the buttons from their clothes were missing. Bokuto just laughed before going down while Akaashi couldn't look at them.
"Are you gonna watch over them?" Oikawa turned to the tall blonde when they entered the room. Tsukishima just silently nodded. "Alright, I'm going down. Feel free to call me or anyone-"
Oikawa didn't get to finish because Iwaizumi was calling his name. He didn't want to make his boyfriend wait so he rushes back down leaving Tsukishima to take care of the two.
The night continued on without the couple and Tsukishima. Oikawa and Bokuto got drunk, starting to sing loudly and badly too while Akaashi and Iwaizumi watch in horror
The Shiratorizawa team together with Aone played truth or dare, most of them going for dare because they don't want to be outed that night. Terushim and his gangs played beer pong. The night was fun for the people present there. They wished they could have invited more people but the house wasn't that big.
Most of them went home before sunrise but some were too drunk to even go home so they stayed for the night sleeping on the couch and floor. Good thing Tendou's parents were out for the week because he will need a lot of time to clean the aftermath. Luckily for him, his boyfriend and the rest of his team are going to help him later. After they sober up.
When Yamaguchi woke up, his head was aching, his body too. For some reason, he was laying in an unfamiliar room, on a bed without any clothes. He stretched out his hands over the bed as he yawns and was surprised to feel flesh. It was warm. He pulled his hands away and peeked through the blanket. It was Tsukishima who was also wearing nothing peacefully sleeping next to him.
His eyes widened. Yamaguchi glanced over to the table onto his phone. As soon as he opened it, he saw 17 missed calls from his boyfriend. There was only one thing in Yamaguchi's mind.
