"We are very happy with your work Miss Singh, and now we wish to offer you full time job in our department".
"Thank you ma'am, it's pleasure working here, under supervision and guidance of deemed faculty. I had a good learning experience. I am accepting the letter of appointment and ready to serve as full time Research Associate in forensic & criminology department".
I got up from the chair and shakes hand with professor Cherry Blake.
"Here is the appointment letter Adhya, you can resume your duties after the winter breaks".
"Thank you professor Blake. I take your leave now."
It's been five years I am in Camrin university. I have completed dual degree course in forensic sciences. Due to my excellent academic abilities I was offered a part time Research Assistant position in the department. I worked while studying, isn't that great to kick start your career like this. Today after 2years I am now offered a full time position as Research Associate in the university. My annual pay is hiked.
I want to share this news with my only support back home. That is my Papa. My father. But despite Calling him for more than 10 times, his phone is unreachable. He must be busy As usual. This is not new to me. He is a busy man. We don't talk regularly. But I know he is on some project , busy and alone too. He loves me and I love him. He is protective towards me since my birth. When I came here , I wasn't alone. I was guarded by two of his personal bodyguards.
My bodyguards once told me my father keeps eye on me, they told me he has instructed them to protect me from every bad boy in the university. I never been in relation with any boy in the college. It's not that I wanted to be in a relationship but I don't want People to fear me.
6 months back I fired them and actually fought with my father when they punched one of my class mate who wasn't proposing me actually but rehearsing a drama sequence. I am furious. I asked them to leave my shadow. I can very well take care of myself. My father and i had a long debate over this. I told him this is not acceptable. He knew whatever has happened is wrong. Poor boy was hospitalized for a month . I apologized to him many times. It's embarassing, I know. Since then bodyguards are kicked out. I know my father has his ways to protect me. I know he is keeping an eye on me if not from near but definitely from a suitable distant. But why? I am no queen or a princess.!
"Hello, jade", I called my friend to share my happiness.
"Hey Adhya wassup"! She said
"Guess what jade I am promoted".
"Wow babe you did it, I am so happy for you. So are we going to party today!"
"Yes, but no dance bars or any sort of place."
"Yes Madam, I know you don't drink and party. But comeon it's your day. One day live like a free bird. Your Father is not here."
"Quite jade, my father is no hitler. Besides I am no dancing jack and drinking duck."
"Ya ya, tell me where is the party then."
"We are going to one of the High quality restaurant in squares. Be ready at 7. Tanvi,shrey and cho are coming too. We will come and pick you up."
"All right babe. Be sexy" . I rolled my eyes on her saying.
"ofcourse" I said sarcastically, "see you then".

"Hey Adhya congratulations, hey all"! It's Jade ofcourse. We are here to pick her up for the party that I am throwing in high quality restaurant at squares.
"Hey jade! We all 3 yell in chorus."
We group hugged each other. Since 5 years, the moment i came here for my studies, Tanvi, Shrey, Cho, Jade & me have became my besties. Tanvi shrey and me are indians. Tanvi is NRI, his father has a shop in London. Shrey is from canada but she is indian. She is working here as violinist in music drama company of London. Cho is japanese but can talk English. She is a sweetheart. And Jade is londoner, an orphan, she used to work in psychology department as assistant to librarian in Camrin university but now work in different university as librarian. She lives in staff quarters of her university like me. Sometimes she lives with me. I share most of the problems with her only.
We reached our destination. "It's a girls night out " I said.
"But it would be better if we hit the dance bar."
"You want my father to take me away from you all. He has his sources Jade. "
"That means you want to go."
"No that doesn't mean I want to go there. It is just I don't want any trouble for my friends". Which is true.
"Fine. Let's order something". Jade was irritated.
We ate like pig and stuffed ourselves with delicacies. Shrey and me are vegetarian so other girls didn't order any nonveg on table.
"Is it Neel"! Cho exclaimed.
I choked my food and gulped the lemonade in one go.
"Oh my god it is him. The charmer of university and secret admirer of Adhya". Shrey winked. Jade and cho hi5 each other.
"Oh god he is coming here". I think he recognised us.
"Hi ladies remember me?"
"Hey Neel". My friends said hey to Neel. Neel is football captain of the college. He too was a forensic student and a classmate. He is genuine and my friends think he has a crush on me.
"Hey Adhya."
"Hey Neel."
"Long time Adhya. Where are you now days."
"Ya I am promoted as research associate in forensic department in the university itself." I smiled to him.
"And you can see we are getting treat from her, on her accomplishment". Jade replies enthusiastically.
"That's great Adhya. You always been a bright student. Happy for you."
"Thanks. What are you doing Now days". I asked him
"Well I joined my dad at the office. Now working my ass off to become ceo of the company. He said it in bit irritation". Wow my friends said in Chorus.
That's true Neel is the son of a billionaire. He is filthy rich.
"That's great Neel. Come join us". I had to ask him or it won't look nice
"Ya sure". And he accepted the offer also. God.
We all talked a lot , reminiscing the old days.
"Hey guys day after tomorrow I am throwing party as I cracked a major deal. Please you all are invited". He looked at me.
"We will come Definitely". Jade replied on our behalf.
"I would love to come Neel but...
"But ?, no buts Adhya please, I know you hate parties and all, I assure you, you won't feel wrong there, I will take care of it ! Today you shared your happiness with me,let me share my happiness with you". I looked at him.
"I...I.. I. m..meant to say with you all." I saw jade and cho winking and smiling.
"Ok".!I replied.
"Ok. Is it ok from you. I can't believe it". Neel pulled my leg.
I didn't reply but rolled my eye.
" Lets go to our respective Home now we are late".. I replied
"Let me offer you ride. And don't say no to me ". He gestures with keep quite sign to me before I said no.
Why can't I say no to the people. Damn! My weakness..
We all left the venue in Neel's land rover.
