I collapse into my chair, all my energy drained from practice.
I think back to what Chenle accidentally said yesterday. It settles weirdly with me, for some unknown reason.
I decide to talk to Chaemin for a while, since I have nothing to do for now. It's midnight, so I'll just shower and go to bed later.
Whipping out my phone, I think about what I'm going to say for a minute and then decide to just go for it.

Wow, that was an extremely awkward message. I sound like a jealous boyfriend. My fingers hover over the keyboard for a second before I turn off my phone to await her response.
A few seconds later, my phone pings. I reach for it and see that Chaemin texted back already. It's pretty late for the average person to be awake.

Sure enough, there is someone insistently knocking on our door, which could possibly be Chaemin's creepy friend. I rush out into the hallway to see the person before anyone else can let them in.
"Wait guys, don't open the door!" I exclaim, holding out my hands to stop Jaemin from letting the person on the other side in.
"Why would I not let Jeno in? Is he supposed to freeze to death?" Jaemin asks, his hand pausing on the door handle.
"Oh, it's Jeno? Sorry, um, just pretend nothing happened," I apologize, my face heating up in embarrassment as I rapidly retreat back to my room. That was awkward.
As I jump back into my chair, my phone pings again.

Just then, my door is thrown open with a loud crash. I cringe and look up to see who had the courage to invade my room like that.
Oh look, it was Haechan. Big surprise.
"What do you want?" I ask, tired of the boy.
"Can you unground me?" he pleads. "I'm sorry for hosting a party and snooping around."
"I'll do it if you promise to leave me alone," I bargain.
"I promise to leave you alone," he says.
"Okay, you're not grounded anymore," I announce.
"Great! Who are you texting?" he asks immediately.
"I said you had to leave me alone!" I exclaim, wondering if I should have even made that deal with him. It seems he might not be keeping his end of it.
"Oh. Whoops, sorry. I'm just curious," Haechan explains before actually backing out of my room. I get up, close the door, and then sit back down.

I put down my phone and check the clock on my wall. Wow, I've been talking to Chaemin for half an hour! That felt like nothing at all.
Now it's time to go to bed.
