Chapter 38- Winter Games pt. 2

Start from the beginning

Still, I have to make sure I get myself through this no planned event. And watch the fireworks go off, I thought the telenovela me, my sister plus Mom, Tias, and Grandma were good, but nothing beats the real thing.

"Eli, once you win, make sure you are better than your old man," I told him before dashing to the nearest tree near me, climbing higher to view my surroundings. A full crowd of wolves, everyone seems to know each other, noticing different symbolic flags like the witches. The wolves set all tents around in a giant open center of the earth. The arena probably circles no steady roof to land on only wooden planks keeping everything above the hall.

"I'm here to compete," I watch overhead Eli talking with the main guards. He shows them his pack symbol and walks right in. Luckily, the wolves didn't guard food stalls. The smells of food will help mask my scent. The stupid tournament has to start. I can also smell other beings like the pilgrim witches and elves, even the undead. Eli was taken with the rest wolves, submitting challengers and competing against one another. It seems the leaders are not meeting the challenges.

I follow the faint scent of the drugs, but I crawl under a loose piece of wood under the podium, noticing the sand and dust to weigh down the planks above me

I follow the faint scent of the drugs, but I crawl under a loose piece of wood under the podium, noticing the sand and dust to weigh down the planks above me. Fellow Alphas and their Lunas were speaking amongst themselves.

"I heard the Alpha Boyd's heir and son is a strong young man perfect for one of our daughters to marry," One of the Lunas said. I thought to myself how wolves do this to their children as if they don't have a say in who they choose to marry.

"Come now with the recent events of the scandal with the other neighbors; I suggest we do not involve ourselves in their affairs," Others said, discarding the heir of this area.

"Still sandal or not, he had become host to one of the old living blood of our culture. I heard he's from the old country, served under the King back then. He even has a son of his own. His bloodline of the old blood will produce great leaders. Far more important than the heir to a state ere'," They babbled on and on I continue on the smell, for me, I can't even imagine the pressure of being an Alpha's kid let alone the fact they'll have to follow in their old mans' footsteps must suck hard.

I peek through the loose boards to see a den of sorts in a base of boulders with a small bonfire lighting the inside. The guards escorted Eli into the hole. Now all I need to do is lay in wait, find the drugs, burn them without any traces, and get back home before Ace notices her motorbike missing.

God, I wish I stored some snacks in my pocket, I thought, drawing out the symbols of the flags on the sand writing out nicknames for the people who run them like ballsack pack or pricks pack until the trumpet nearly brushed my eardrums.
