On Dec. 12, Marla was very sad that Charley Pride has died of Coronavirus at age 86. She first saw him on tour in 1974 and talks about baseball and football, but the Texas Rangers was his favorite.
Marla confirms on Facebook that she was in the 1979 photo with Charley and singer Meat Loaf, who was the Dallas born.
Marla confirmed the next morning that Joe Diffie, who died also of Coronavirus, sings background vocals on Charley's two songs from his 1993 album. One of them in which Marla heard was "Just for the Love of it."
Rozene, Charley's wife for more than 60 years, called Marla on the phone before he died, said he had test positive after contacting with his children, not at the CMA show, in which he was honored.
Funeral or memorial services is pending at this time.
