On May 9, the same day as Little Richard died, Helen Pate passed away at age 96. She became a lifelong fans of Dean Dillon and Marla herself.
Helen was originally from Guntersville, Alabama with three younger brothers. She was married to her first husband and has three daughters, including one died of infancy. Eleven years after he died, Helen was married to another man and had no children until he died in 1982.
In 1989, Helen met Marla in Nashville and tells the story how they originated. On Facebook page, Marla announces Helen's death and here she is in this photo with Helen and Dean.
