"HURRY...!! WE NEED TO EVACUATE...!!"
They managed to gather the villagers off their burning homes...and gratefully...not one of them was injured. Even so, they were at huge risk since the villagers were forced to shelter themselves towards Chrome's shed, where Hyoga and his henchmen were still lurking around.
Kai wasted no time in aiding any of the children and elderly, even if it meant she had to carry more than one.
"Thank you so much, Goddess...!" The elderly woman praised her but Kai did not waver at her words. She turned away from the woman, "Now is not the time to thank me...Those bastards are still lurking around here somewhere so keep your guard up...!"
Her emerald eyes dart everywhere, trying to pry out Hyoga or anybody posed of threat, glaring with hatred as her fists began to ball up. 'Cowards...All of them!! How dare they attack innocent villagers...? If they want to fight then fight us head on!!' Her eyes began to burn, 'Why...Why go all through this madness just to kill someone?? How can they be so heartless...??! They're children and elders in this village for goodness sakes!!'
But Kai was quick to blink away her tears when Kohaku and Kinro approach and stood by her, their swords were drawn out in hand as they too looked at the area tentatively.
"Ginro...!! Get the children inside the shed..!! Hurry...!!"
At Kohaku's order, the blonde was ready to sprint over towards the section of the kids when he was greeted by a line of raging red flames that blocked him from approaching the shed any closer. At his yelp, the three turned to see that it was once again Homura with the flame torch in her hand.
Kai's heart filled with rage at this, but she was too late to react when Homura jumped away from the scene. As result, another fire was caused and was close to setting on Chrome's shed.
"Quickly!! We must put out the fire!!"
At Senku's call, everyone from the village gathered water inside some clay pots to extinguish the fires. Kai could only muster out a desperate grunt, wanting to very much go over and chase down Homura, but seeing that saving the shed was top priority she had no choice but to help out.
Ginro continued to weep on the floor, panicking as he cried out, "Oh no...!! If we don't do anything! All the hard work we did working on the lab will all go to waste...!!"
Kai turned to this, expression clearly irked by his cowardice, now walking over towards the blonde primitive before smacking him upside the head, "Enough of that Ginro...!!" Her words were harsh as knives, going over and gripping the back of his collar as he began to panic once his feet dangled underneath him, "H-Hey....!!"
She shuts him with her harsh expression, eyes glaring daggers his wat, "Whining and crying won't get us anywhere!!" She then shoved a pot filled with water into his arms, now letting go of him, "Just shut up and help us..!"
Kai's words seem to have knocked some sense into the boy, urging him to nod before tailing just behind her form. She along with everyone else from Ishigami village wasted no time in taking out the fires. And as things couldn't get any worse for them, Ginro alerted them that Suika went on ahead and drifted herself towards the mountains...followed behind with the rest of Hyoga's henchmen.
The younger girl probably wanted to be helpful in a way, and thus she used herself as bait to guide them away from the villagers as far as she could.
