"SHE LET ME INTO HER WORLD AND THEN I BECAME IT."
That's the only words I tell when this little angels asked me about my lovestory.
"What do you mean by that? That sounds happy ending! Can you tell us your whole story when you're still in the Earth?" one commanded in glee, excitement is in her whole system.
I closed my eyes, reminiscing what happened 10 years ago.
"H-hey what are you doing?" I distracted the girl, she was lying at the center of the road, seems enjoying the happenings.
I walks towards her. I was about to hold her when my hand just passes through her body. She suddenly stand up and run away as if she didn't notice me.
In a seconds, I found myself following her.
"Mababanga ka!" I shouted and before I could save her from the upcoming ten-wheeler truck, everything's late because she was finally hit. I'm stuck, I just saw how a girl hit by a truck.
Nang makalagpas na ang truck nakita ko pa rin ang babae sa mismong tayo nito, walang dugo, walang kahit anong galos. She's safe. How is that? Mayamaya pa ay may sunod sunod na sasakyan na bumangga sa kaniya pero tila tulad ng nangyari kanina noong sandaling hawakan ko siya ay lumagpas din ang mga ito sa katawan niya.
"H-hey." I pointed her.
Her eyebrows raised, confusion is evident on her face. She pointed herself out as if asking if I'm pertaining to her.
She slowly come near me, staring at my whole, scrutinizing every details of me.
"N-nakikita mo ako?" she asks, hesitantly.
"B-bakit? P-paanong nangyari 'y-yong kanina?"
She just laughed and run right after. Pinahabol niya ako sa kaniya, minsan ay kung saan saan ito nag-sususuot, lumalagpas sa mga walls, nawawala at biglang lalabas.
"I'm already dead. I'm a ghost, are you relieved now?"
"Bakit ka na'ndito? You are supposedly in heaven now."
"I was there yesterday, but they land back me here."
"Why?" I ask in total confusion. Honestly, this is unbelievable, if only I could not see what happened earlier ay hindi ako maniniwala na isa siyang multo.
"I just died yesterday, I don't know how, pero bago ako mamatay alam kong may sakit ako na pawala-wala ang aking alaala, siguro ngayon ay tuluyan ng nawala ang lahat ng memorya ko noong ako'y nabubuhay pa." She paused for a moment. "But that's not the matter anyway, what I want for now is to enjoy my last 40 days here. Puwede bang samahan mo akong i-enjoy ang natitirang araw ko? Ikaw lang kasi ang nakakakita sa'kin." As she pleaded, pumayag ako and then she hugged me in so much happiness.
"By the way what's your name?" I asks.
"I don't know."
"I'm Ben, can I just call you Gwen?"
"Gwen? Oh I love it! Thank you for giving me that name!"
In just 20 days that we're together, halos kilalang kilala na namin ang isa't isa. Sa bahay ko na siya nakatira. Kung saan ako magpunta naroon din siya, kung minsan nga ay sinasadya ko pang magpunta sa magagandang lugar para lang ipasyal siya. Everytime nga na nakikita ako ng ibang tao akala baliw ako dahil kinakausap ko raw ang hangin.
Napakamasayahin niyang babae at napakaraming kalokohan. She's always looking forward, kaya siguro hindi na siya nag-aaksaya ng panahon para malaman ang nakaraan niya, kung paano ba siya namatay, kung sino siya, at kung sino ang pamilya niya.
"Tomorrow is my 40th day here and basically that's my last day here. I want to tell you that I am very thankful that I met you," she said in tears.
"Gwen." I hugged her tightly. "P-puwede bang huwag ka ng umalis?"
"B-bakit?"
"Don't leave me. Hindi ko kayang mawala ka. I love you. Sa maikling panahon na tayo'y nagsama, nahulog na ang loob ko sa'yo. Please stay here." She hugged me back as I uttered those words. I can feel that her tears are continues flowing.
"M-mahal din kita pero h-hindi 'yon puwede. Buhay ka samantalang patay na ako. Iba ang mundo ko sa mundo mo, Ben."
"If it is impossible that you can enter into my world, then can you let me into your world? I know that's possible," I exclaimed. I was really desperate to be with her kahit buhay ko pa ang kapalit.
"What do you mean? No Ben! Huwag mong sayangin ang buhay mo para sa'kin! Hindi ako pumapayag!" And she left me hang with my tears in its finest.
Pag-uwi ko hindi ko siya nakita sa bahay hanggang sa sumapit ang kinabukasan, ang huling araw niya rito, ay hindi pa rin siya nagpapakita.
I searched for her, but I've found nothing. Siguro ay nakabalik na siya sa mundo niya.
I was at the middle of my self thought when she suddenly appeared.
"Ben..." she sobs. "I was thinking of this since last night, hindi ko rin naman kayang makita kang magmahal ng ibang babae. Will you call me selfish if I let you into my world?"
Instead of saying anything I just hugged her instantly. Konting oras na lang ang natitira kaya minadali naming lumabas.
I smiled from ear to ear bago tuluyang tumakbo sa karsada at magpabangga sa rumaragasang sasakyan. Ngayong mamamatay na rin ako, puwede na kaming magsama.
Nagising ako na puting kisame ang sumalubong sa'kin. Bumangon ako at doon bigla akong sinalubong ni Gwen.
"Aaaaa! Ben! I'm happy!" Tumayo ako at iniwan ang katawan ko sa kinahihigaan nito. Doon nagsimulang tumunog ang isang bagay, signed that I've lost my breathe.
I smiled and hugged Gwen. "Thank you dahil pumayag ka, Gwen. I love you."
"Ihh! Mas mahal kita. Oy! Tingnan mo 'tong katawan mo ang pogi pa rin HAHAHA. Teka nga, dito ka nanggaling diba? Masaya ba humiga dito? Try ko nga," he laughed out loud as soon as she positioned herself to posses my body. Indeed, she's a crazy woman.
Tumawa ako sa ginawa niya. Sa kalagitnaan noon ay dumating ang mga nurses and doctors hindi pa man siya nakakaalis sa katawan ko.
"Gwen, tara na." Papatayo na sana ito ng biglang may naglapat ng isang bagay sa dibdib ng katawan ko at pinump ito dahilan para mawalan ng malay si Gwen at doon nagbago ang takbo ng aparato, from straight line ay kumurba na ito.
"The patient is now ok. Hintayin na lang natin siyang magising. Pahinga na lang ang kailangan." I heard from the doctor. After that they left the room.
Kasabay din noon ang sandaling pagliwanag ng paligid and in a snap I found myself in heaven. Good thing that they land me back right after saying that I still have 40 days here, because I can't leave Gwen, she's still in my body!
I have waited for 2 days and Gwen finally awakes.
"Wow! What happened next? Siguro pagkagising niya sabay na kayong umakyat dito," masiglang sabi ng mga batang anghel sa tabi ko matapos kong magkuwento.
"How I also wish na sabay kaming umakyat dito," my tears suddenly trailed off.
"B-bakit po?"
"Her memory lost."
"Bakit hindi niyo pinaalala, nandiyan naman kayo ah?"
"I tried but the thing is... she can't see ghost. She let me into her world then I just became it, my body just became her world. And know what the most painful?" I paused and looked at the ground, watching Gwen, laughing with her own family.
"It is when her heart is now owned by her wife, because she doesn't even remember that she's a woman."
