Going over the rules in my head I hastily went over to the bed I awoke on ignoring the screaming pain of my ribs and weak legs. I fixed the blanket quickly as the voices had stopped in front of the door. I stood straight with my eyes to the ground as the door nob turned slowly. I can do this, I can do this.
Two sets of feet stepped in as I starred at their shoes. "You're awake!" A mans voice filled the room. It was deep and filled with surprise as he spoke. But it didn't belong to the alpha's voice. The voice that haunted me. Either way I didn't dare speak. None of them liked me to speak.
The two men stepped closer till their were standing directly in front of me. I didn't dare step back. Their wolf instinct would take that as a chase as I was already prey to them. "How do you feel?" This voice was different. It was somewhat deeper then the first yet comforting. It pulled me in but I didn't dare move. I want to feel safe but I know it's just a trick. Just as the question was. They were trying to trap me, I knew all to well.
After waiting for so long for me to respond the one that was slightly closer to me. The one that talked second I'm guessing starting kneeling to the ground slowly. Trying to make eye contact with me. Widening my eyes in surprise I quickly averted my eyes to my left at the wall. They always tried to trap me into talking but never have they tried to make me make eye contact.
Catching some of his features out of the corner of my vision and from his voice I know I've never seen this man before. Maybe he was new to the pack. Or maybe he had heard of me and wanted in on it. Maybe that's why I'm here. Not for the alpha but for him. A new tormentor.
I could feel his eyes on me. Starring holes through me. Still kneeling he reached his hand out making me almost flinch at his attack. But the strange thing was he didn't attack. He grabbed my hand gently that was at my side. Warmth taking over my cold flesh. Why was he being like this. Why was he different from them.
This must all be a test. He's trying to pull me into his game. I wouldn't fall for it. Follow the rules scarlet they'll keep you safe from un-needed harm. "Why wont you answer me? ....or look at me?" He asked his face changing to confusion his eye brows raising in the corner of my vision.
Don't speak scarlet, don't look it's all a game the moment you do you'll fall into his palm. "maybe she's mute man, plus who knows what they did to her in there. Who knows how long she was there" The first man said. The one that was kneeling in front of me looked up to him and let out a deafening growl. I couldn't help it this time but flinch on instinct.
Huge mistake, never flinch it was just as bad as whimpering sometimes. I squeezed my eyes shut waiting for the blow to come. Waiting for what felt like forever it never came. I could feel his eyes on me again but I didn't dare look. It was exactly what he wanted.
"Ben go get some clothes that will fit her better" the first voice said. I heard footsteps leaving the room. The person known as Ben was gone as the man in front of me never let go of my hand. "Come on lets get you a bath and clean you up some" All I could think was obey.
I felt a slight a soft tug on my hand. I opened my eyes keeping them glued to the floor as he lead me to a room that was connected to this one. Looking at the tiled floor I realized it was a bathroom. Was I really going to get a real bath and not just a hose down? This really wasn't normal and while you would think I would accept it and be happy it just raised more red flags in my mind.
