Jared's POV

I still couldn't get over the fact that she hugged me. Willingly at that, she pretty much jumped me in a way. But what happened to her after I had no clue. She shut me out, like she was afraid of me again. Her posture became stiff like it used to be. Luckily after training was over she was calmed down some but not like when she hugged me.

I don't know what happened to her or for how long but I was determined to find out. I needed to know just how much my mate was hurting. That way I knew how to help.

I looked up from the paperwork I was currently working on that was messily thrown across my desk. There was Scarlet, sitting on the sofa in my office. She was scribbling away in the notepad that I gave to her. I didn't know if she was writing or drawing, but from the strokes of her hand I had to guess she was drawing.

She seemed happy even though she wasn't smiling. It was just the way she was relaxed. Almost falling into the couch in a way.

She snapped her head up in my direction randomly. When she saw me already looking at her she quickly turned he attention back to the notepad. I could see her cheeks turning a light pinkish tint of a blush. She probably didn't expecting me to be looking. Which made me wonder how much she has been looking at me since we arrived in here.

I couldn't help keep the smile off my face at the thought of her watching me. She's been doing a lot better since when she first arrived. Those first couple of days were so hard to get her to actually look at me. She was completely closed off from everything.

"Scarlet?" I spoke her name softly so I didn't spoke her. I hated when she would flinch from me as if I would harm her. She looked up to me again her blush growing darker by the second. "What are you doing little wolf?" When she completely processed my question she looked down to her notepad then back at me.

She pointed to it as if to ask if I meant what she was doing in her notepad. I nodded my head giving her a small smile. She looked back down to the notepad while biting her bottom lip softly. It seemed that she was contemplating something. Every few seconds she would glance back at me for just a moment before reverting her attention back to the notepad.

After a few minutes she stood up and slowly made her way to me as if decided something. I couldn't but to get distracted by the way she walked. Her hips moved in such a transfixing way I swear she was doing it on purpose.

I was snapped out of my trance after she was stood in front of me for a few seconds. I probably looked like an idiot just zoned out like that. I looked up to her as she was stood directly in front of me. She had her notepad clutched against her chest tightly. Both of her arms wrapped around it.

She looked around the room while she stood there. She never looked directly at me, it seemed like she was shy. "May I see little wolf?" I held my hand out to her so she could hand me the notepad if she wished too. I gave her a soft smile like I always do for her to encourage her that it was okay.
