Scarlet's POV

When I woke the next morning it was to the sound of running water coming from the bathroom. Seeing as how this was Jared's room and there was a lack of body heat from behind me it only took one guess as to who was in there.

I stretched out my relaxed muscles and sat up on the bed. My legs dangling over the edge touching the soft carpet beneath my feet. I stared out the window while I waited for Jared to enter the room. From where I was at I could just make out the top of the trees as they blew in the light wind of the morning. The sky was a soft orange-yellow color as the sun probably just started rising.

I decided it would be best if I wait for Jared to give me instructions on what to do for the day. My actions from the night before were probably a little to bold. I mean I actually got up and stole the man's pillow. What the heck was I thinking there?

I believed Jared when he told me he wouldn't hurt me. But ya know slow and steady wins the race. I'd rather not over step my boundaries with him just in case I ended up being wrong in the end. My gut told me I was safe and I could let my guard down. But I didn't want to risk that just yet.

The water shut off and the door to the bathroom soon opened to reveal Jared fully dressed in casual clothes. A light grew sweater covered his torso but it looked like the sleeves were torn off. Or who knows maybe it was supposed to be like that. He had on some dark basketball shorts similar to the ones I worn previously. He had on black track shoes that I've seen him wear before.

Jared looked up to me and instantly smiled, teeth and all. "Hey, did you sleep good?" He asked while he slowly approached me. When he was just but a foot away he knelt to the floor so he was looking up at me. Somehow it made me feel safer.

I nodded my head lightly in response to his question. At my answer, as lame of an answer it was, he gave me a small half grin. The left side of his lips tugged up slightly. It was barely noticeable, but damn was it cute.

I got knocked out of my thoughts of his adorable grin when his voice sounded again. "I have some training I need to do today. Duncan is in the kitchen waiting for you again. I let him know you're allergic to pickles so don't worry, no pickles." He explained everything to me and I couldn't help but panic a little inside when he told me that I had to spend the day with Duncan again.

I had to get out of that. I had to tell him that I wanted to go with him. But there is no way I would actually talk. I glanced at the night stand beside me and noticed the notebook that had my name scribbled on it was still there. I reached over and grabbed it but the pen was no longer there.

Looking down at the notepad that I had clutched in my hands I glanced back up to Jared. I showed him the notepad with my name spread across it clearly. "What, you want to write?" He asked me with a slight confused look on his face. His head tilted to the side slightly.
