"you gave me wings but i didn't want to fly,

like a zoo animal taken out of it's cage, i was still getting used to the freedom you gave me.

with you, i don't feel suffocated, i feel liberated, but freedom comes with a price that i wasn't ready to pay.

all my life, i've gotten used to the slow asphyxiation, a breath of fresh air chokes me.

i'm used to being tamed, a chain around my neck isn't foreign to me, your gentle hands caressing my cheeks are all-new, i'm not used to be handled like i'm gonna break.

you told me to look up and fly high, even if it meant leaving you behind,

but how could i ever go? how could i leave you? you, who shines so brightly that you blind me from every pain that's ever wrecked me."
