"i miss the me that used to want to learn,

not only the pages in a book but about the world.

i miss the me that used to stay up all night, drinking in the knowledge that i thought would be useful one day.

i miss the me who used to struggle to get what i wanted,
who fought for me
.

now, i stand defeated, unable to learn, i could try but my mind no longer brightens with information,

it withers and shrinks, it refuses to retain, which reflects in my falling grades, along with that my falling self-esteem.

i always told myself marks weren't everything but i miss the pat on the back i used to get when i got straight A's, i miss the courage i used to have to take up a challenge.

i miss me who was tired all the time but still pushed every day, chin held high.
i miss me"
