Hey guys! This ain't an update. I'd appreciate if you read it. If you don't want to read it just skip....its your choice.

I just wanted to talk...aise hi. There are 2 surprises at the end. No no no its not a new book....idhar ek hi sambhalne me vaat lag rahi hai ek aur kaha se lau😅😅

Before it gets more awkward than my life lets start😂😂🤦‍♀️,

So, I was a reader for a long time and I saw many amazing books on various issues like Infertility in both male and females, Dark past, Child Abuse, Molestation victim, Depression and many more.
But, I wanted someone to write about LGBTQ as well.
And dats where DOSTANA came in my mind. Although our story does not have the main leads as queer, I tried my best to bring this topic in limelight.

Now why DOSTANA?

So when I was seeing that movie, I found 3 major mistakes and 2 mistakes I personally found.

1. Stereotypical GAY Jokes.
If you have seen the movie, it has various Stereotypical Gay Jokes which may sound funny but they are quite offensive. I personally did not like this part of the movie. If you see our book, you won't find any offensive jokes on LGBTQ Community. The only joke related to it was in 31st chapter where Zack states about sodumb capoors statement. I wrote that because that statement seemed stupid to me. The answer Siddharth gave clearly shows my dislike toward it.

It is also shown in the movie that Sam(Abhishekh Bacchan's character) and Kunal (John Abraham's character) file a residential permit as a gay couple and fool the immigration officer and they get the permit.... Like wtf?

2. Truth Reveal.

The truth reveal in this movie is very unsatisfying as per my view. It shows that Sam (Abhishekh Bacchan) shouts on Neha (Priyanka Chopra) for not being able to see that both Kunal (John) and Sam (Abhishekh) are in love with her. He further calls her blind. Now this is where I disagree with the movie.
You blame a girl for not being able to see that two guys who are pretending to be gay love her. Like why? Why would you blame the girl? Boys jhooth bole, Natak kare vo chalta unki koi galti nahi hai. Par ladki ko ye na dekha ki do log usse pyaar karte hai usme ladki ki hi galti hai. Upar se there is this dialog, "Humne jo kiya galat kiya aur uske liye hum mafi mangte hai par Hum tumse pyaar karne ke liye maafi nahi maang sakte." WTF dude? Its more of like Tune mujhe ghar pe jagah di ye teri galti hai.... main jhoot bola ye bhi teri galti hai🤦‍♀️

3. No trace of Struggles of Gay people.

Karan Johar being the director of the movie, I expected him to show the struggles of queer and what all they go through. Instead this movie makes fun of "Being Gay". I was so angry. Like I agree that movie was quite progressive with respect to 2008 but I really rooted that they would show the situations of queers in India. But again director was Kjo so...🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️

4. Stupidity in casting actors.

This is my personal problem with the movie.
WHO THE HELL WILL CHOOSE BOBBY DEOL OVER SMOKING HOT, HANDSOME, 6 PACK ABS-DHARI JOHN ABRAHAM?
If you are a normal girl... unlike Neha from the movie and you have 3 options in front of you JOHN ABRAHAM, ABHISHEKH BACCHAN AND BOBBY DEOL, whom will you choose?

Mujhe mat pucho tum logon ko pehele se pata hoga😅 Because by now you guys might have understood my love for John Abraham😜 so of course, I will choose John Abraham! 😬😬

5. Love Quadrilateral.

In this movie, I don't know somehow there is a LOVE QUADRILATERAL? Of course I don't know if it is a Squar, Rhombus, Parallelogram, Rectangle, Tetrahedron or what so ever. Now I am not a huge or I am totally not a fan of love triangles. I personally don't find them appealing so gradually I was not going to include that angle.

These were the problems I found in the movie. Ab original movie main hum change nahi kar sakte so I thought to write DOSTANA-SIDNAAZ to correct these mistakes in the movie. And present it in my way.

For those who have not seen the movie, I just took the plot and basic idea of the movie. The movie does not have rants, road trip and other masti.

I choose Siddharth and Shehnaaz for obvious reasons.... I like them duh! Kushal and Mrunal...I like them as well!

Initially I was going to write only about the struggles of Lgbtq people but then I realized I should give a kind of example. And that's where I decided to put KUNAL'S story.

And by reading your comments I was so happy. I was happy that changed at least someone's way thinking or made them think other way round.
Many readers said that they couldn't digest the whole chapter and it was too much to handle. Well.... that was the whole point of this sudden situation.

THE FACT THAT WE CAN'T DIGEST IT EVEN WHEN WE ARE READING AND THERE ARE PEOPLE OUT THERE WHO GO THROUGH THIS BRUTALITY IS WHAT I WANTED PEOPLE TO UNDERSTAND.

I read and watched many interviews, stories about many people who underwent sinful acts like this. And trust me many stories were so disturbing that I still can't get them out of my head. That further motivated me in writing this. It legit took me two weeks to properly write the sequence of events and of course the narration.

Truth Reveal parts were the chapters where for the first time trid writing something intense and serious. Perhaps that was the reason I was so nervous when I published that chapter.

At the end I would say,

KUNAL CAN BE ANYONE.... YOUR FRIEND, ENEMY, ELDER BROTHER, YOUNGER BROTHER, RELATIVE, COLLEAGUE AND EVEN YOUR OWN SON. IF THEY COME OUT AS QUEER PLEASE SUPPORT THEM. PLEASE ACCEPT THEM. DO NOT MAKE FUN OF THEM.
YOU MAY NOT KNOW WHAT AND HOW MUCH THEY HAVE GONE THROUGH.
DO NOT ACT LIKE A HOMOPHOBIC PERSON.

Even if you just assure them that you support them, no matter the person is gay, lesbian, bisexual, asexual, pansexual anyone it helps them a lot.
A small sentence "I am with you." or "I support you." will give them strength. They also have a life to live and FREEDOM TO LOVE A PERSON REGARDLESS OF ONE'S GENDER.

And I think we all should educate ourselves as well as other people. We should not count them as different because they are one of us. Talk to your parents, brothers,sisters, children and educate them about this. Tell them not to make fun of queers,not to bully them. Because,

LOVE IS LOVE.
