The broken and fragile

part 1: finding her

He raised it and brought it back down against my ribs. Letting out a small breath I tried to keep in my cries. Just take it scarlet it wont last forever. I told my self yet again every time they came.

Mad that he got nothing out of me he kept swinging bring it down harder and harder. My legs wanted to give out from the pain that was being inflicted on my already bruised body. But no matter how much I wanted to lay down and die I held strong.

Bringing down the wooden torture device yet again a very noticeable crack could be heard as I felt one of my ribs break yet again. Biting on my lip to keep from making a sound and the pain of having it broken again. Blood filled my mouth and I was sure to of broken skin open of my dry lips.

"look what you've made me do now you bitch" Feeling a throbbing in my head I knew he hit me across the head with it but I could barely register the pain as blackness started filling my vision. My legs giving out I crumbled to the floor as I head Greg laugh at my misfortune.

My vision fading in and out I could make out Greg's retreating feet as he left me alone in the room. Knowing as my last thought that I'll have to reset my broken rib when I awake I let the cold welcoming darkness take over.

Jared's POV:

I stood at the front of my pack about to enter Alpha Kane's territory  to begin the inevitable fight. They had been attack some of our pack members and from what I have heard. Took some others pack members as prisoners. Doing who knows what to them.

I will take down Alpha Kane myself. But not today. Today we rescue those that have been taken and send Kane a warning. Looking to my left at my third in command Grant. He gives me a simple nod to let me know he's ready. And to my right my second in command Ben, shaking his fur out he lets me know he's also ready to get this over with.

"Grant your with me, Ben take your team and let out the prisoners. If anyone gets in your way do whats necessary" Giving them both their command through the pack link I get a 'Yes Alpha' from both of them. Letting out a loud howl to let my pack know we move now I get a response of howls echoing off from the trees from the power of the 97 wolves that are with me.

Taking off into their territory we hear Kane's pack howling sounding their alarm to the attack. The sound of paws padding through the sticks and leaves as we get closer. Ben and his group of 9 split off to go to the cells. Now its our job to buy them some time. Kane's wolfs coming towards us in groups to protect their home.

The two packs clash together as we begin our fight. Claws and teeth being brought out. Jumping at a smaller brown wolf that was about to take down Grant with his back turned. I dig my paw into its side letting my claws sink into his skin as warm blood covers my black paw matting the fur down. Reaching forward I clamp my jaw around his neck ending the fight with the wolf as quickly as it started tearing through the exposed flesh of his neck the bones crackling under the power of my jaw.

Dropping the now lifeless wolf to the hard ground Grant turns to me as he also finishes his fight giving me a quick nod as a thanks before taking off to the next wolf as I do the same. Ripping through 4 more wolfs as they come my way. Getting some very minor injuries in the process as 2 of them try to take me down together. But their no match for an Alpha.

Looking over the fight in front of me Kane is no where is site. Figures the coward sends his pawns in while he sits safely in his home. Freezing up a wonderful scent wafted around me. The fight that continues around me now going in slow motion as I turn to the direction the scent seems to be coming from. The same direction that Ben went.

Shaking it off I turn to the wolf that tried to take me by surprise while I was dazed out. Swiping my paw across his face I take him off guard. He steps back to get out of my reach and shake off the stinging pain in his face. Giving me my opening I launch myself at him. Making him fall over underneath me I hold him down with my weight while I go in for the finishing blow. Taking his neck in my already blood drenched jaws I keep my hold on him while he struggles to get free until he falls limp underneath me. Blood making a small puddle around him.

"Alpha we got them all out." Ben links to me. Giving a howl I let my pack know the fight is over and we're heading back. While a few help each other finish off the ones their fighting I head towards Ben and that scent that took over my senses. Finally getting to know what it is.

Coming closer to where Ben is I see him standing there carrying something, most likely someone in a nasty old brown blanket. Shifting I come to stand in front of him. Looking down at what his carrying.

A beautiful small girl knocked out cold. The smell from earlier coming straight from her. Being a lot stronger now then before it completely surrounds me. With long black hair that falls around her. And from the looks of the blanket wrapped tightly around her a very tiny frame. Her face was slightly dirty but still un-believable beautiful. Her lips stained slightly red from what looks like dried blood. Her small nose red against her pale white skin.

Ben probably noticing the way I was staring at her he handed her off to me. Bring my arms around her small frame she weighed almost nothing. As I brought her closer to me her face turned to pain. Loosening my grip on her I immediately looked at Ben.

He probably noticed the questions going through my head from the look on my face. "She's not in the best shape....Her body is covered in bruises, dried blood. And from the looks of it I think her rib may be recently broken."

Taking in the information he told me word for word I could feel the rage filling me. Shaking with rage I could feel myself about to snap. "Hey man I know how your feeling but now's not the time. We need to get the pack back safely. And her." He told me looking down at her at the end.

He was right. I need to get her taken care of and safe as soon as I can. Looking around me I noticed my pack members watching and waiting for me silently. "Lets move out"

Giving the order everyone started to follow me back to the pack. Looking down at the small and gorgeous girl in my arms I couldn't believe it. I found her. I found my mate.
