"A baby! A baby! You both are barely out of school! How do you expect to take care of a baby?" Molly shouts. I tap nervously on the table.
"We have the joke shop! We've got the money there to take care of it," Fred points out, "besides we're adults mum. Stuff like this was going to happen eventually-"
"EVENTUALLY! NOT BEFORE YOU GOT OUT OF BLOODY SCHOOL!" She screams, "you both are children! Barely old enough to count as adults."
"Not to be pushy," I say softly, "we both are 18. Meaning we are adults in the magical world and the muggle world... We should be able to make our decisions by our selves."
"You choose this?"
"No not exactly," I tell her, "it wasn't planned but I love Fred and I'm not upset about having the baby... I'm sorry this isn't what you planned for us Molly. But this is what's happening." Fred moves his arm around me. Both of us trying to look firm but not pushy. She sighs.
"I can't exactly punish you for this," She says softly, "you're right you are adults... And you're owning up to your mistakes... But I still don't like that you're doing this out of wedlock. I mean what are people gonna say?"
"Wow we really didn't expect anything less from Mr. and Mrs. practically married," I say slightly amused, "honestly what people say is the least of our worries. I'm more concerned about the wizard war." She sighs loudly.
"That too," She says looking over me, "it's terrible time for a child... I felt the same when I had Bill... Listen. I'm only worried because I love you both dearly... And having a baby during all this is going to be a lot... More than a lot. It's going to feel like the end of the world sometimes. But I will help with everything I can. As much as I can." I give her a big smile. She moves pulling us both into tight hugs. As she pulls back she thinks for a moment. "I guess that means I should finally let you two stay together. And we'll need to get a crib... Y/n how far along are you now?"
"6 months," I tell her, "I'm sorry we waited so long. We wanted to do it in person than everything happened at school."
"Don't worry about it- we'll need to get a midwife here soon to look over you and make sure everything is okay," She starts, "then we'll need to adjust Fred's room to fit a crib in... I know that you guys are looking at moving out but just in case we should prepare... Y/n have you told your parents?"
"Unwillingly," I admit, "they don't want to be involved... Figures as much ya know."
"Well you'll have enough support here that it won't even matter," She tells me, "I'll take you to the healers first thing in the morning. My mother took me my first doctors trip with Bill. It's a big moment. I don't want you to miss out on that... Of course we'll have to take Fred... He's not going to let you out of his sight anytime soon. He's been pouting since he's left the school... I'll give him that much. He is very very much in love with you-"
"Mum," Fred says carefully.
"Not a bad thing to hear Fred," Molly points out, "besides she adores you... Stop worrying so much. It's not good for Y/n or the baby!"
"Right right try telling Y/n that she's worrying enough for the entire country," George butts in.
"Watch your mouth George or else I'm going to beat the bloody pis-"
"You will do no such thing!" Molly exclaims, "that is also not good for the baby." I sigh. Suddenly realizing how annoying this whole process is going to be.
With Molly knowing... Suddenly everyone knew. The Order, The Weasleys. It felt like she put up a billboard with all the congratulation owls we received.
