We have all heard the saying "Behind every successful man there is a woman!"

Well, not just behind a successful man, there are women in almost all the fields of studies. And, no matter what their field of study is, women go the extra mile and give in their best to make their projects successful. And, Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) is one such project.

The MOM was launched on 5th November 2013. Being India's first interplanetary mission did not stop India from becoming the first nation to reach the orbit of Mars in its first attempt.

About 27% of the personnel who worked on this magnificent project were women. Amongst other women, Moumita Dutta, Nandini Harinath, Ritu Karidhal, Anuradha TK and Mrinal Rohit were the women who led the mission from the front.
