Spending the night in Sammy's bed may have been one of greatest nights sleep I had every had

Spending the night in Sammy's bed may have been one of greatest nights sleep I had every had. That morning, I awoke with his arm still wrapped tightly around my waist. My back was to Sammy now, allowing me to feel every light breath he release as they fanned the nape of my neck.

My body let out one of those head-to-toe shivers.

"Good morning." Sammy mumbled groggily against me. That sleepy voice, mixed with the feeling of Sammy's cock getting hard against my ass, made my breathing hitch.

"G-Good morning." My stuttering ass replied.

Sammy must have been convinced by now that this stutter was permanent... because I couldn't for the life of me string anything together coherently around him.

I felt Sammy plant a few light kisses on the crevice of my neck, before he pulled away entirely. I almost whimpered at that loss of warmth.

"I hate to be the bearer of bad news so early in the morning, but we're late." He sighed. When I rolled over to catch a glimpse of Sammy, he was already out of bed tucking his arousal up into his training shorts.

-

Training was getting more and more intense as the days went on. I trained with the novices on Friday, but when Saturday rolled around, Sammy placed me with the veterans.

Working alongside them was even more intense. Sammy had Grayson spar with me for literal hours, and by the time our training came to an end, all the fighters were laid out on the mats in exhaustion... even the novices. Though I didn't have much time to watch their training, I could hear Sammy call them all kinds of names from across the gym.

It made me further realize why they looked at me like I was their savior whenever I came back to train them. Sammy was the definition of tough love when it came to training them.

Much to my dismay, Sammy and I barely managed to get any alone time together. Grayson and him had started putting in more hours after training to finalize work. There was only one week left before our first tournament, and both of them were working that crunch time to its maximum potential.

Sammy still invited me into his bed every night. It was just that most nights, he climbed into it much later than I did. I could feel myself stir awake when his arms pulled me into him, but he was just too comfortable and warm... I would fall back asleep seconds later.

Every morning felt like we were forced to wake up earlier and earlier. I had a shift at Tidal Wave on Sunday, which meant I unfortunately missed the only off day Sammy had. When I returned that evening, Sammy was starting to pull some things out of plastic bags. It looked like it was take out boxes.

"How was the day?" He asked, pulling me in for an unexpected kiss before I barely reached the top stair.

I know it sounded weird, but the only kisses we had shared since that insanely intimate moment Thursday night, was the ones we managed to steal from each other in the mornings before training. They were hasty, but passionate. What I looked forward to most each morning, besides physically waking up next to Sammy.

He pulled away too quickly for my liking. I couldn't help but noticed how exhausted he seemed when he did. It wasn't really that physical exhaustion, but rather something more mentally or emotionally driven. It made me wonder what he had been up to today, to look so depleted.

Today wasn't bad." I spoke honestly. "You should probably know I kind of sort of let it slip that we shared a kiss, to Kas. I really really didn't mean to but she started going on and on about how different I was acting and-"

Sammy's chuckles made me cut my drawn out explanation short. Seeing him smile had this relaxing affect on my nerves.

"Oh I know," he replied "she called me on her break to bitch me out about not telling her. She seems to think this is all part of my elaborate plan to take you away from Tidal Wave. I had to put her craziness at ease."

I smiled sheepishly at Sammy. Hopefully this wasn't the reason he looked so spent... but something told me it wasn't.

"I'm sorry about that. I didn't know how private you wanted this to be." I explained, taking a seat where Sammy gestured me to. He was setting up the dining room table, which was something he really seldom did. Usually dinner consisted of us both sitting on the couches, working on fighting combos as we ate. Tonight seemed a little different.

Dare I say, more romantic.

"I want this to be as public as you're comfortable with. There's no rush to do anything you don't want to do." Sammy replied as he plated some deliciously smelling Thai food, and set it in front of me. When he sat down across the table, I could feel my nerves starting to hit.

This definitely felt romantic.

"I uh- um. I know it's been a little hectic here with the tournament. I'm sorry I haven't found time for us to be alone. I've been so consumed by wanting to make sure the guys are ready for this next weekend... but that should have never consumed all my time. As you can see, I'm still working on finding that balance between work and play."

I couldn't help but stare as he spoke. While I had obviously taken note of how much busier everything got, I didn't really blame Sammy. He had the most on his shoulders right now.

My eyes softened from his words. "It's okay, really. I can't begin to imagine the amount of work this takes."

Sammy sent me a grin that made my face heat up. "I really don't deserve you."

As soon as I managed to process those words, my fingers (along with what I'd argue to be every other damn limb in my body) failed to cooperate. Instead of picking up the fork, I managed to fumble with it before I rolled down my body and under the table.

"I-I-I'm sorry, j-just a second." I rushed out amidst my embarrassment. Once I pushed the chair back to crouch under the table, I could see where it had landed. It was actually right near Sammy's feet. I reached out to grab the utensil, just as Sammy pushed his own chair back.

When he glanced down, our eyes locked.

"Hey there." He smiled down at me.

"H-Hi." I replied from under the table. Regardless of the many chants I sang in my head to not look down... To pick that damn fork up and crawl my way over to my side of the table...

My curiosity won that battle.

When I glanced down, I could visibly see the bulge in Sammy's distressed jeans, and for a minute there I thought about whether I even had the balls to try something like this.

As my eyes found Sammy's again, I damn near toppled over from the way he was looking at me. It was far from the sweet look he had given me just seconds ago.

This one was dark, and lust filled.

It practically called my hands to his pants zipper.
