Just an Oval

Some people see this as just an oval,
But I see it as a submarine,
With its great periscope,
It's a magnificent machine.

Some people see this as just an oval,
But I see it as a dragon's egg
All shiny and spiky and green,
With all its tiny polka-dots
And with its glittering sheen.

Some people see this as just an oval,
But I see it as a gem,
And the gem is red and sparkly
And carried by ten thousand burly men.

Some people see this as just an oval,
But I see it as a lake
Its blue water being moved
By a mother duck and her babe.

Some people see this as just an oval,
But I say that it is more.
And for all those sightless people
Who sulk and stare at the floor,
Look up at the world;

This is not just an oval.
