Never Alone

Pain the mother of Trauma,
Trauma the sister of Fear.
Fear the friend to Anxiety,
All three of them creeping near.
Anxiety uncles Panic
And Panic shelters Madness;
Madness, cousin of Delusion,
Each adding up to Sadness.
Sadness is infant Depression,
Depression the home to Loss,
Loss feeding into Gloom,
Each a stamp on your life; embossed.
Each whithering relative reunites,
Everyone bringing a friend
Until Despair, Distress, Defeat and more
All join the fray in the end.

The gathering takes place in your mind,
Their rambunctiousness taking a toll
As they flip over tables and chairs,
Trash littering your mind in whole.
They stay the night in your room,
Marring your most private space
As they continuously refuse to leave
And slowly take over your place.

Even when one departs
They always leave a mark
So you never forget the deeds they've done;
So you're always enclosed in the dark.
You keep fighting day after day,
Pushing them out the door
Yet they keep finding ways back in;
Keep finding ways to hurt more.

Every litter a blow to the stomach,
All their waste a punch in the head,
Every debris a slap in the face
'Til you're bruised and bloody and red.
Each party-goer beats down on you,
Whithering away your resolve,
Raiding the food in your pantry,
Leaving you with more problems to solve.

But as these heathens wreck your mind
Don't think that you're deserted;
There are many people like you,
Many people distraught and hurting.
Keep in mind some have got through it;
Some have kicked these monsters from homes;
Push through, keep fighting,
And remember: You're never alone.
