S-Class

"Emi!"

Emi turned around to see Kira running after her. The purple haired wizard caught up to her and gave her a tight hug.

"Where are you going? You weren't in the apartment this morning when I woke up, so I got worried."

"No way! He didn't actually kick you out of the guild, did he?" Natsu shouted.

Makarov looked towards the girl in pity.

"Sorry for worrying you. I'm off on a job request."

"Oh cool! I'll come with yo--"

"I have to go on my own."

"Why?"

"It's an S-rank request."

"S-RANK?! No way! How on earth did you get to do that?"

"Master promoted me to S-class last night and said that I should take this mission that's been hanging on the board for a while."

"No fucking way. I can't believe our newest member is the first S-class member in the guild. Not even Sting is S-class. That's so cool, Emi!"

Everyone sighed in relief, glad that she was able to stay with her guild.

"I should get going now. I'll be back soon enough."

"Well that was easy enough," Emi shrugged as she handed over the target to the Magic Council.

She started to walk away when she froze at the soldier's words.

"Hey, thanks for helping us, but our captain would like for you to take off your hood in case you're working with this guy."

"Why?"

"To confirm that you're a guild wizard and not a criminal."

"I can assure you I am a member of a guild. See?" Emi lifted her arm to show her crest on her shoulder.

"That's unfortunately not enough."

"I decline."

She went to move, but her arm was caught by her shoulder from Lahar.

"It's no big deal, mister. We just need to see your face."

Emi stayed still before looking up to Lahar and grumbling. She slowly removed her hood, raised her eyebrow and then put her hood back on. She turned to walk away again when she heard Lahar call out.

"Hey, aren't you that little girl that used to travel with--"

"If you know, then why ask?"

"I'll take that as a yes then. Tell him we still appreciate what he's done, but we're not going to let him free from what he's do--"

"He's dead. Is that enough for you?"

Emi walked into the guildhall and was surprised when everyone jumped out from their hiding spots.

"Surprise! Welcome back!"

"Why are you welcoming me like this? I've only been gone for a few days."

"It was your first S-rank request, Emi! You deserve a celebration."

"I can't believe this is actually happening," Mich exclaimed through tears. "I've been waiting so long to throw an S-class party!"
