His silver eyes seemed to be glowing the longer she stared at him and she looked away, she could feel his presence coming closer and she liked it, it provided warmth and comfort, although he wasn't touching her- him being there was enough for her.

"How are you?" He spoke, his deep voice created shivers that made her curl her toes in excitement, she's been longing to hear his voice and see him again.

"I feel weak, but uh... I want to thank you." She said, she tilted her head a little to get a better view of him and her green orbs connected with his silver ones, she smiled. He let out a soft cough and looked away.

"Alright, well I should get going,"

Those simple words crushed the warmth inside of her and her smile fell, replaced by a small frown, she was hurt.

"Keith-"

"I can't, I lost you once and I nearly lost you again. Fucking hell you were screaming my name while dying Rain!" He started screaming and Rain flinched at his tone, he flipped the table and she watched as the cup smashed into tiny pieces- just like her heart had upon hearing his words.

Rain watched as his chest rose and fell at a rapid pace, he was trying to calm down and she could see the glowing red in his eyes.

"Look at me." She commanded, but he didn't, he rested his head against the wall with his fists clenched in anger.

"Keith, I said look at me." Rain spoke, her tone was soft and comforting which made Keith snap his eyes towards hers.

The minute his eyes collided with hers, he couldn't keep in his emotions and Rain watched for the first time as Keith showed her his vulnerable state, hurt, confused, anger and worried. But one thing that caught Rain's attention was the pain.

He was in pain.

And she couldn't help but feel like it was her fault.

The glint he had revealed, it was small but she caught onto it. A world of darkness, and even though he would try to hide it, his eyes revealed it all- he let her see the pain he was going through, the dark, silver eyes that mourned his despair...

"Come here," She whispered, she wanted nothing more than to embrace him and take away his pain.

Keith's eyes glowed and he watched her but still stood in his place.

"If you don't come here then I'll go to you." She said in a determined voice, Keith knew she wasn't kidding so he slowly moved towards her and when he was at arms reach Rain wrapped her hands around his neck, drawing him closer in a tight hug.

She ignored the slight pain and instead focused all her attention on him, he stiffened for a few seconds but slowly wrapped his arms around her small frame and embraced her. He was her shield- her protection and he would protect her at all cost.

And she was his anchor, the person who held him together in one piece. Rain realised at that moment how much her life would change without her mate, without Keith by her side and she realised just how important he was to her just as she was to him.

"I'm here now, I don't have the intention of leaving not now, not ever. I promise." She said, her words were mumbled against his shirt but he picked up on the words and hugged her tighter.

"I know, and if you do I'll track you down. And we both know how good I am at tracking." He teased, Rain pulled away and chuckled at his words.

He looked at her and he grinned at the sight, Keith glared at her in a playful way when she poked him on the cheek.

"What was that for?"

"I didn't know you have dimples, I wish I had them." She said and proceeded to poke both her cheeks in an attempt at getting dimples, she huffed when she realised she was getting nowhere.

"You should smile more, it makes you look young,"

"Are you saying I'm old?"

"Depends, how old are you?" Rain teased, she looked and him only to be met by silence and then she gasped, he covered her mouth and glared at her but she started laughing. "You are old!"

"Shut the fuck up." He grumbled, avoiding her gaze he crossed his hands across his chest and turned away from her.

"Okay geez I won't mention it, just don't go." Rain said, he froze in his spot and turned to her with a suspicious face.

"Please?" She said with a pout on her face.

Keith let out a sigh of defeat and headed over to her, Rain scooted up and patted the bed, watching as he got in she snuggled up against his warm frame, resting her head on his shoulder.

"Goodnight you old beast." She whispered as her voice started to drift of.

He wrapped his large arms around her frame, bringing her closer.

"It's morning." He stated bluntly.

"Whatever, don't ruin the moment."

She could feel his smile and she slowly closed her eyes, they both settled in a comfortable silent and drifted off into a peaceful sleep. For the first time Keith felt a weight of his shoulders and relaxed as the sleep embraced him. He couldn't help but feel happy.
