"Oh come on Y/n, don't be a buzzkill" Cameron waves the piece of paper at you

"Nope. Count me out" You say, not giving in

A giant sleepover between You, Aidan, Eden, Blake, Cameron, Tj, Ethan, and Dante to celebrate the (late) release of season two, meant that you had to do something stupid

"I do not fuck with the dead. Let's just leave them dead, huh? What happened to us watching scary movies?" You ask

"Yeah, boring" Cameron says

"The midnight man isn't dead" Eden sneers

"Eden shut up, you'll scare her even more" Aidan hits her arm then smiles up at you "We'll go in pairs" Aidan says reassuringly

Cameron turns to look at him with a confused face, and Aidan shrugs

"But if you're gonna play, we gotta do it now, it's almost time" Dante says, looking at his phone

"Time for what?" You ask

"Midnight. It's gotta be 12 on the dot when we start the game, and it's nine minutes till, so are you in or not" Dante says, tucking his phone into his back pocket

"Fine, fine fine. But if I die tonight, I'm coming back solely just to haunt each and every one of you"

"Great" Tj says

"Okay, I'll read the directions first, then we'll get everything set up" Cameron says, walking over to his computer

Everyone follows, and gathers around his chair
"Okay, so it says: The midnight game must be played with more than one player, blah blah blah. In this instance, every player shall perform their invitation individually" Cameron says

"Invitation? What does that mean?" You ask

"Just means that everyone needs to participate in the preparation" Aidan says

"Okay, here's the background" Cameron says "the invitation welcomes an entity known as the 'Midnight Man', inside your home. The goal of the game is to avoid coming in contact with the midnight man in the dark. Continually moving through your home will make it harder for him to catch you. Should you stop moving at any point, he will catch you. Blah blah blah just more random stuff"

You shudder at the thought of maybe dying tonight from some stupid fake entity. Knowing it was fake was one thing, but actually playing the game, was another

"Oh, here it says that when he's close to you, he might make you hallucinate your worst fear. Hm" Dante points to the screen "And another, is that he'll-"

"Rip out your guts" You continue

"Oh come on, don't tell me you believe that" Cameron turns around

"Please" You shake him off "I'll believe it when I see it"

"That's my girl" Eden bumps your arm lightly with a smile

"See Y/n. You'll be fine, there's nothing to be scared about" Cameron stands up

"Okay, now we just have to invite him in" Aidan says, walking over to the pieces of paper scattered on the floor

"How?" You ask

"Well, everyone needs to write their names on a piece of paper" Aidan grabs one, and hands it to you "first, middle, and last"

You take it from him, and write your name on it, waiting for everyone else
"Okay, now everyone has to prick their finger and let the blood soak into the paper" Aidan reads off of his phone
