Year 12

I don't think I've ever been so...shocked in my life as I was now.

It was currently after hours, and I was on my way to the gym when I was suddenly stopped by a boy I recognized from another class. If I wasn't mistaken, this must be one of Litheon's friends.

"Do you need something?" I asked, trying not to be so rigid, but internally I felt my stomach churn.

The boy brushed his ginger colored hair to the side as he reached out towards me with his palm faced up, turning his body ever so slightly so I could see his side profile.

"Ryenne Atstelli, go out with me."

I blinked once, then twice. Somehow just seeing his actions, I felt irked.

I was at a loss for words. I couldn't find any words to say to him. I knew that I'd just be wasting my breath if I did.

"You must be so enamored, right Ryenne?"

I felt appalled, my left eye twitching as I tried to find the words to make him leave. But I knew that no matter what I said, he'd take it the wrong way and twist my words to fit his liking.

I internally sighed.

How do I get out of this situation?

As I stood quietly, thinking to myself, I felt an arm wrap around my shoulders. My body tensed up and I felt my stomach turn even more than before.

Turning to my right, I looked up to see Xael looking over to me with a slight smile. Although I was surprised, I could feel the relief in knowing it wasn't some creepy stranger.

"Let's go." He says, not bothering to even glance at the boy as he nudged me forward. I nodded and started moving my legs, walking passed the ginger haired boy. I could feel his eyes on us.

"Wha..."

I didn't look back to see his expression and only continued walking towards the gymnasium. Once he was out of range, I let out a breath of relief and turned towards Xael.

"Thanks." I tell him, patting his arm as we stop just a few meters away from the entrance. He just lets out a low chuckle as he nodded.

"I didn't do much...to be honest, I would've let it be, but your disgust for him was exuding. I felt bad for him." He tells me. I stared at him for a moment before rolling my eyes and brushing his arm off of my shoulders.

"Whatever. I'm going in now." As I begin walking towards the entrance, Litheon's head pops out from behind the doors.

"Hm? Xael? Ryn? Why're you two together?" A mischievous smile formed on his lips as his eyes narrowed.

I found myself rolling my eyes again and shook my head, heaving a long sigh.

"I'm going in!" I announced again, not bothering to answer the pestering Litheon.

Author's note:
This chapter is probably the one that went through the most changes with a total of 6 drafts, but I like where it's at right now.
The other drafts were too serious. At one point I made Ryenne and Ryun get into a fight, but it didn't fit so in the end I just rewrote the whole thing and it came out to what I wanted.

Question:
I don't have a question to ask for now. School is killing me. Senioritis is hitting me...and early too.
