『 Year 12 』

Three figures stood towards the back of the stadium filled with attendees, waiting for the seven senior members of A'lette to take the stage. Of the three, two were suffering of major muscle ache and soreness—these two being Ryun and I.

Ryon stood with a blissful smile on his face, easy for others to mistaken as friendly. Truthfully, I'd say he's most similar to my father despite not being his son.

Reason being?

Both always carry a polite smile on their faces, though their eyes are always watching the faintest movements of others. Their ears were exceptionally sharp, catching minor details and the mistakes in an instance. The worst part is that their feigned politeness is just their groundwork to manipulating those who falls into the pits, genuinely believing that they are kind and polite.

Luckily, I am much wiser than Ryun who is often caught in their webs of manipulations. Though...it seems both Ryun and I are unlucky this time around.

"Gosh! What's taking the old geezers so long to get out here?" Ryun grumbles as he subtly stretches his legs beside me.

"Be quiet." Ryon whispers to him whilst jabbing his elbow into his ribs, causing his brother to groan and grab his side.

I could only watch in pity for Ryun.

"It's rare for this to happen, but Ryon, that was unnecessary and childish." I tell him truthfully. I then grabbed onto Ryun's arm and pulled is body up and into a straight and proper pose.

Ryon didn't say anything in response, but I heard him sigh. On the other hand, Ryun had shaken my grasp on him off and fixed the wrinkles on his shirt.

"When I find that outdoors maniac, I'm gonna give it to him." Ryun announces, balling up a fist in front of his face with resolve. He then turns to me with question and raises an eyebrow. "Ryenne, why aren't you sore like me?"

I gave a sideway glance at him before glancing at my calves that threatened to twitch at any given moment. "What are you talking about? I just have better endurance than you do."

This earned me a glare from Ryun, but I ignored it and kept my face forward. The elders were making their way up onto the stage now, meaning the orientation was finally starting.

My father, with his friendly face, took to the microphone for his opening speech.

"Good morning, everyone! Welcome to the thirty-seventh annual spring training camp hosted by A'lette! There are many of you here that I recognize, along with many new faces, and I welcome you all and thank you for coming all this way to participate and hone your culinary skills with us!

During your time at our training camp, you will learn many skills that you may not have learned before, such as how to select the finest ingredients, along with discerning spices and cuts of meats. Of course, these are just the tip of the iceberg..."

Halfway during my father's speech, I zoned out, as did the two who were with me as well. It was a speech that consisted of many things we've heard before on different occasions and possibly not so kind terms.

After my father's speech, there were a number of other speeches that followed, making Ryun impatient.

"If you guys don't mind, I'm gonna slip out while I can." Ryun tells us as he give Ryon and I a slap on the back before taking a step backwards.

Glancing over to the eldest, we share a mutual look before hooking our arm around Ryun's and pulling him back to his place.

"Yoon, if your not gonna listen, the least you can do is pretend like you are." Ryon spoke just loud enough for us to hear, but his voice sent chills even down my back. It was low and threatening, not to mention his glistening eyes that threatened to pierce his brother's head.

"Y-you two..." Ryun could only sigh with regret.

"Why am I always sandwiches between the Goody Two Shoes?"

So...I've finally found the motivation to watch Attack on Titans and it's actually really good, but I really find Mikasa annoying (she's too obsessive of Eren), just me?
Also, have any of you guys read the new Manhwa that came out? "Seduce the Villain's Father"? It's really good, but still waiting for raws to be translated.
