Year 12

"Everyone, gather around!" Carhee's voice echoed throughout the gym, catching the attention of the boys who had just finished their mock games. Almost immediately, they circled around, their eyes focused on Carhee's tall figure.

Though they tried not to stare, I could occasionally feel their gazes shift towards my direction. The only ones who didn't do this was Ryun and Litheon.

While Ryun gave me a death glare, Litheon smiled brightly, giving me a thumbs up as a reassurance.

"We have a new volleyball manager!" Carhee exclaimed, causing the boys' eyes to widen in shock. Turning to me with a smile, Carhee gestured for me to come forward.

"Introduce yourself." She whispered.

Inhaling a breath of air, I calmed my senses and allowed a smile to rest on my lips.

"Hello! I am Ryenne Atstelli." I raised my voice just loud enough for everyone to hear

I watched as the boys of the club immediately looked over to Ryun with wide eyes. He just sighed and nodded to their unspoken questions, causing their eyes to widen even more than before.

I found it comical.

It wasn't a secret that we were cousins. If anything, I think it should've been an obvious fact seeing as we can often be spotted together in the morning. But I guess it wouldn't be too obvious since we arrive pretty early and quickly go our separate ways.

Pulling myself out of my thoughts, the other members began introducing themselves and as I continued to interact with them, I felt a sense of deja vu.

Many of Ryun's friends came to talk with me, likely out of curiosity and wonder. It was somewhat reminiscent of when I first met Kaine, though less cheesy.

"Who knew I'd ever get to meet Ryun's cousin!" A pink haired boy named Dakota exclaimed as he watched me in wonder. His bright blue eyes sparkled like a curious puppy as he slung an arm around Ryun's shoulder.

I found myself chuckling at his strange antics while Ryun glared and brushed Dakota's arm off. He created a small distance between them as he rolled his eyes.

"So, what do you think of Volleyball, Ryenne? Looks fun, doesn't it?"

I nodded my head in agreement.

"Yes! There seems to be a lot of energy on the court."

"Right? Right?" Dakota grabs my hands with both of his as he begins to ramble on about his love for the sport.

I tried my best to listen, but I found myself in a daze as I watched him in his own monologue. Luckily, Ryun saved me from having to listen to the full play as he dragged me off.

"Since practice is over, we'll be leaving now!" He yelled out to the coach who nodded and waved us off.

I quietly followed my cousin who continuously let out tired sighs.

"Yoon, if you keeping sighing like that, you'll turn into Uncle Theryn." Ryun glared my way before letting out another sigh and running a hand through his matted hair. I scrunched my nose in disgust at the sight but didn't say anything further as I waited for him to say something.

"There was a reason why I didn't want you to join my club." We were halfway to the school entrance when he finally spoke. I glanced over his way before lightly patting his shoulder.

"Why? Because people make it a big deal? Shouldn't you be used to that by now?"

"It's annoying."

"I'm sure it'll be fine. After all, I didn't join because of you."

Ryun glanced at me silently before shrugging.

"I guess..." He paused for a moment before turning his head towards me, narrowing his eyes as he watched me. "Alright, now. Since we're alone, tell me the real reason why you joined."

I smiled cheekily as I shrugged. "Take a guess."

He pursed his lips as he thought about it seriously. "I know. You're going to put on your fake nice girl side and use the team to your advantage."

I shrugged again as I walked ahead of him to our ride that was waiting for us.

"I'm right, aren't I? Cause that's exactly what I would do if I were in your shoes." He lets out a laugh as he easily caught up to me.

"You gonna tell?" I asked. My voice held an unspoken threat, but Ryun didn't care. "That depends on if you end up poisoning someone."

"I promise I won't."

"You'd better not or else I'd be ashamed to say you're related to me."

I glared at him, but he just laughed, clutching his stomach as he entered the vehicle. I just rolled my eyes and followed him in, ignoring his hysteria.

Author's note:
This chapter was kind of hard to write, but I guess it's an okay chapter.
It also shows that Ryenne and Ryun can get along even though they fight a lot.
And...this day was a long one. It took what? 4 chapters?
Anyways...it's currently 12:37 a.m or 00:37 and I have school in...8 hours?
Uwuuuu! Save me!

Question:
What do you think of Ryun this chapter?
