Intermediate: If it's Uncle Theryn—Ah, easy target.

Year 12

My cousins and I had arrived early for the first day as requested (forced) to do so. There, we will be finding out the itinerary and how the attendees would be separated.

As I had expected, the attendees were separated from those with experience, to those who have yet to know what to expect.

In total, there were six representatives, along with attendees whose grades ranged from intermediate first years all the way to high school third years. The weekly schedule ran from Monday to Saturday; Sunday being the day of rest and revitalization along with Ryon's favorite activity—Networking. Fun.

Per weekday, each class was assigned to a different representative where they will be taught and tested on a variety of essential skills that train them to work for A'lette.

I could only hope that my Monday's won't consist of the piercing eyes of my father and grandmother who are extremely serious and expectant in the kitchen. If it's Uncle Theryn—Ah, easy target. I can bully him and he won't reprimand me harshly, but then again, I'm not quite sure how he stands when it comes to this...

Hm...huuuu...—

"Ryenne?" I hear a voice call out to me, cutting off my thoughts.

Turning my head, I find myself looking up to face Ezen, the kid that I had met the other day at the orientation.

With a smile on my face, I greet him. "Good morning, Ezen!"

He stared at me for a moment, as if dazed, before snapping out of it and smiling back.

"Have you seen the schedule for our group?" He asks me. I nodded in response as I take a look at the papers I held in my hands.

"Yes, though I'm not entirely sure which representative will be our Monday instructor..." and once again, I was stuck on this topic.

"You look worried." He comments. I could only give a wry smile as I looked over the names for this year:
Theo Atstelli - CEO of the Company
Theryn Atstelli - Head of the Chefs and Staffs
Esme Atstelli - Head of Produce and Ingredients
Yunna Li - Head Chef at branch A
Fia Enmina - Head Chef at branch B
Zoren Ru - Head Chef at branch X

"Just a bit..." I tell him, forcing a small laughter.

Ezen follows my line of a sight and glanced over the names before nodding in understanding.

"Ah. I see."

I looked up at him in confusion and he only chuckled as he pointed at the very last name.

"That's my brother. Truthfully, I'd rather he not be the first person that oversees us, but I guess you have it worse, right?"

I could only nod pitifully.

"It's okay...But your brother is a representative? How old is he, then?" If Even was only my age, then wouldn't that mean that his brother isn't that much older than us? Possibly only a few years older than Ryon.

"My brother is twenty-two this year." He tells me. I was astonished.

"For a representative to be this young and hold a spot as a head chef, he must've been very skilled. Not to mention how cut-throat it is...Your brother must have a strong mentality. It's very commendable." I tell him honestly.

After I spoke, I watched Ezen's reaction for a moment. He just watched me speechlessly before his face brightened up, his brown eyes sparkling like a child who tried cake for the first time of their life.

"Right? My brother is amazing! No matter how many people try to talk him down, he pushes through and always ends up on top!" Admiration shone in Ezen's eyes, and despite looking at me, I knew he was seeing his brother.

Somehow...He's quite cute.

...

Wow. For the third time in my life, I am caught off guard by my own thoughts.

I inwardly sighed before finally snapping out of my thoughts and pushing them to the back of my head.

"Shall we get going now?" Ezen asks me, to which I smiled and nodded.

The walk to our designated station was relatively short, making me slightly nervous to find out who our instructor would be, but when I entered the room, I was ecstatic.

"Uncle Theryn!" I exclaimed excitedly as I happily skipped over to him whom was laughing like a maniac.

"If your father found out you were this happy to see me, I don't think he'd let me live." He tells me, but I just waved it off with a dismissive hand.

"You'll be fine, Uncle. I just hope that I don't get Grandmother for the last day." I shuddered at the thought and my uncle laughed at me once again, before lowering his head and whispering to me, "Rynnie, I didn't know you had it in you to befriend someone here, but that boy you friended there is extremely talented."

I gave a flat look before my brows raised in question. I glanced behind me to take another look at Ezen who had found his designated station. He seemed to be comfortable in this type of environment.

"Well, isn't that kind of expected for the attendees here?" I asked bluntly. He could only laugh helplessly before shrugging.

"I suppose so...but Rynnie, the attendees in your grade likely have much more experience in the kitchen than you do, so don't get too disheartened, okay?"

I blinked at my uncle and then just stared. "Uncle, I know I don't often use the kitchen because of my lessons with Instructor Irold, but I'm very educated when if comes to the field and use of ingredients and flavors."

"Gosh, Rynnie, do you always have to bully this uncle of yours?" Uncle Theryn could only sigh dejectedly while I just smiled at him innocently.

"I don't know what you mean, Uncle Theryn." I shrugged before turning away from him and finding my station. I find myself smiling to myself as I laughed at my foolish thoughts previously.

No matter what, Uncle Theryn is still the same uncle from seven years ago.

Author's note:
I am so lazy guys...It's been a month since school first closed and I still have yet to do any calc work. I've been trying to find motivation but...it's so hard, and yet even though I know I need to get my grade up and my heart feels a bit of anxiety from it, this anxiety ain't enough to SLAP SOME SENSE INTO MY DUMB BRAIN.
Anyways...I've noticed a lot of new webtoons and manhwas being translated and they are so good, but I swear it takes too long for it to be translated. I also said I'd try to learn Korean throughout this quarantine, but have I been doing that? No.
Oh! I guess you can say I've been pretty productive with updating this, right?

Question:
Any novel/manga(hwa)/anime recommendations anyone? I'm just so bored...(By the way, I don't really like Harems)
