Wednesday: The Uninvited Guest

They were rudely woken up by the ear-piercing sound of Sanchez's alarm which had been. snoozed about ten times. Richard slowly opened his eyes still oblivious of his surroundings when he felt an arm curled around his waist and at that moment, he smiled as the memories of the previous night came as flashes. Best night of his life though it happened faster than he thought. Did this mean he finally got her, is she finally his? Richard had been secretly hitting on Sanchez but never really had the confidence to tell her ,she seemed to always have too much on her mind like someone who had a lot to hide.

"Morning Richie" the sweetest voice Richard had ever heard said. He turned to look at her and smiled, this smile was true, it was full of love even Sanchez felt it.

"Good morning good doctor" replied the man. She smiled and kissed him going on top of him when their vibe was killed by the alarm ringing again. They both turned to look at it

"Shit" they said at the same time. Sanchez immediately jumped off the bed headed for the shower followed by Richard.

They showered and were on their way to work. The streets were already suffocated with heavy traffic and they were stuck. The traffic excuse was not going to work because they were 3 hours late and traffic did not hold anyone that long. They were held by traffic for about half an hour and arrived at work at around 12 pm four hours late. They got into the precinct avoiding any encounter with the likes of Donovan and Johnny. They headed for the morgue first then Richard would come from there and make up some lie about having locked himself in the morgue studying the bodies looking for clues however things did not go as planned. When Sanchez tried to unlock the door it was already unlocked

"Is that supposed to happen?" Richard asked in a startled way

"No maybe the genitor finally grew some balls and decided to clean the morgue" she replied as she pushed the door open

"I heard that" said the genitor smiling and they all laughed as Sanchez and Richard walked into the morgue but their laughter was cut short by what they saw.

The whole team were standing around the table with Sahil's body. They all turned at the same time making the whole situation very awkward. They saw Donovan begin to smile

"Shit" they said at the same time

"Romeo and Juliet" Don said clapping his hands

"Spiderman and Mary Jane" said Jessica and turned to Casey

"Tony and Pepper" said Casey joining in then looking to Fitz

"Barrack and Mitchell" Fitz said smiling turning to Johnny

"Me and my bed" Johnny said killing the whole vibe. Everyone booed him and they all laughed and teased him.

6 hours later

The street lights illuminated the streets making it seem like day time. One could not walk more than 20 meters without passing by a street light. They shone like flood lights making the place safe to walk at any time of night. Robberies were less too in places like this it was the safest place one can live in. It had so many street lights that the locals called it Eastridge the city of lights even though it was just a low-density suburb however where there is light there is a shadow for it is through the darkness that we see the light. Sala walked slowly looking at his surroundings, who had he come to see here ,who are my lucky hosts today? Who am I paying a visit on this bright night he thought as he walked in the streets where the lights shone brightest. He took a left turn into a street which had a dead end it had a house at the end the road. He smiled looking straight at the house at the end of the street. The Wilsons oh yes, they are my lucky hosts he thought to himself and smiled.

"Shane and Shanice dinner will be ready in 5" Sarah yelled as she pulled the tray with a fat sizzling turkey out of the oven.

She closed the oven and began cutting the turkey singing along to her favorite Dolly Parton song time apart, she walked over to the radio and increased the volume. Sala slid the glass backdoor open and rushed past through the lounge headed for the stairs that led to the second floor. Sarah cooks with the kitchen doors closed because their cat likes to follow her around. Sala slowly goes up the stairs looking back to see if anyone followed him. He walks past the first door which was the bathroom then past the second which belonged to Sarah's daughter who was now married and lived elsewhere with her husband and finally stops at the entrance of the third which belonged to Shane and Shanice Sarah's 10 year old son and 8 year old daughter.

They were busy to even notice that someone was standing at their door. Shane was playing super Mario on his Nintendo while Shanice was playing Pokémon. Augustine stood there for about a minute then cleared his throat. The children raised their heads to see who it was and their eyes were filed with fear, a huge scary man stood there holding a 15cm silver sharp knife. Shanice' eyes began to get watery and she ran behind Shane for protection. Shane was so afraid he urinated on himself trembling he whispered to Shanice that it was going to be okay. Shane tried to yell but fear gripped his voice it had become hoarse.

"No no now Shane is that how you greet visitors" Sala said putting back the knife in place "now we are going to play a game understand" he added and Shane nodded with tears trickling down his cheeks.

Shane had never been so scared in his life. The fear he felt made his body feel all sorts of thing, he felt like his legs were no longer able to carry him and like something was burning him from under his skin, the boy was heavily sweating.

"Now do not be afraid, our little game is called tie a knot around her hands" he said and threw a rope at Shane

The boy slowly picked up the rope looking at Sala

"Don't worry I won't bite" Sala said raising both hands "now Shanice why don't you make the job easier and lie on the ground put your hands behind your back like someone whose being arrested, you have seen someone being arrested right?" he said looking at the girl who was peeping over her brother's shoulder and she nodded.

The young girl slowly lay on the ground and did as commanded. Sala then signaled for Shane to continue. The boy knelt next to his sister and wrapped the rope around his sister's two tiny hands

"Repeat after me as you tie" Sala said

"The dragon goes under the bridge" he said

"The the dra dragon go....es under the bridge" Shane said stammering with fear

"Through the loop....and finally into the castle"

"Through the l l l loop... and nd nd finally int....o the castle"

"Good boy see you did it, now you know how to tie a knot" Sala said smiling down at the frightened boy "is that a Nintendo I always wanted one of those" he added as he walked to Shane's bed and pick up the toy

Shane uses this opportunity and makes a run for it, Sala proves to be too fast for the boy and grabs his arm and yanks him towards him. Shane finally breaks the spell laid on him and yells "mom!!". This irritates Sala and he snaps the boy's neck killing him instantly. He leaves the boy and the lifeless body drops to the ground

"Shane!!!!" Shanice yells crying trying to free herself "Mom!!"

Sala grips her right hand and lifts her up. She was so slim her body was almost weightless. Sarah hears the screaming of her daughter and decides to run upstairs to see what was going on. Shanice struggles as she tries to free herself from Sala's grip. He vice grips her, pressing her onto his chest and holds his right hand onto her mouth and nose. She struggles and with each second that goes by her struggle weakens until her legs just slump down, she was dead. Sarah reaches the second floor yelling

"Shane are you playing on your sister's bed again I am going to be.." she stops dead in her tracks when she spots her children all lying on the ground looking lifeless "Shane!!" she runs and checks his pulse and there's nothing "Shanice!!" she checks her pulse nothing too "Oh God somebody help me aaaaahhh!!!" she yells crying when suddenly a hand covers her mouth.

She tries to remove it and immediately Sala slits her throat.
