Laura and Ryan got out of the car, paranoid Laura locked it from the inside, so they didn't make more noise.

Laura creaked open the front door to the house open to check if the coast was clear. They entered the seemingly vacant space and Laura's heart relaxed just a bit. Ryan followed close behind her as they both tried to make as little noise as possible.

Looks like that nightcap worked, Laura thought as she heard the snores coming from her parent's room, she was finally grateful for the dual snorers as she led Ryan up to her room. Softly she creaked open her bedroom door and they both slid inside. Laura closed the door softly and let out a breath.

She turned on her bedside lamp, she needed to be covert about being awake, she opened her closet looking for bedding for Ryan, she didn't have a lot of extra bedding in their besides an old comforter from when she was a little girl, a Barbie pillow, and duckling yellow blanket.

She nearly giggled as she handed him the girly bedding.

"It could be worse," he whispered and smiled at her. She pointed to a spot directly behind her bed, so he could be hidden, even if her parents barged in. He made up his bed, while she set her alarm.

"Hey, I'm going to get some frozen vegetables," she said softly.

"Now's not the time for vegetables, Laura," she set herself up for that one.

"Whatever, I was just feeling a little hungry," she said sarcastically, he smiled up at her from his floor bed; his dark brown hair was in a whirl, and his lips and cheeks were red from the cold, why wasn't she kissing him right now? That's a pretty silent activity. No, she couldn't think like that, he didn't like her like that.

She snuck downstairs petrified as she went past her parent's bedroom. Her hairs stood on end, she couldn't risk them waking up and finding Ryan. She grabbed a bag of peas and mentally cursed as each footstep created an ear-shattering creak, at least from her perspective.

When she finally reached her bedroom, she creaked the door open and slowly closed it.

Ryan was sitting on her bed staring out her window. He was wearing a t-shirt, plain black as it usually was, she realized she had yet to take off her sweatshirt and she did so as well. She was wearing an old oversized white t-shirt, good thing she had the foresight to wear a bra she thought.

She sat next to him and handed him the peas. They had never been this close, and Laura's face grew red. She didn't even know if she could form words when he was so close to her.

"Thanks," he took the peas from her and pressed them to his eye, he sighed and looked over to her before putting them down. Laura melted into a puddle as he took her in, her heartbeat accelerated, the soft thump turned staccato as she looked at him. His eyes looked so soft in the gleam of her lamp and the mysterious glint in his eye had made a reappearance. His lips looked so inviting; rosy from the cold, she wanted to touch him, but he was not interested in her. She looked down at her feet she needed to ignore these thoughts.

"Can I tell you something?" he asked, she hesitated before she looked up at him. His eyes are dark now, she felt his gentle touch on her neck and jaw, as he guided her mouth to meet his. Once they met in the middle, they became one. She closed her eyes as the tenderness of his kiss enveloped her. Laura's mind went blank except for the thought of his mouth on hers. She felt his tongue tease her mouth and she reciprocated. She grabbed his hair a bit pulling him closer, she felt his lips smirk.

The kiss felt so natural, he pulled at her lip before regrettably letting her go, she opened her eyes.

"I really like you," he whispered. He opened his eyes and smiled.

"Then don't stop," she directed him, rubbing the back of his neck before letting him go.

"I will never stop." He looked down at her lips and she looked at him, and she realized how dangerous this was.

"You're so beautiful, but I can't do this, not after tonight." He gazed down at the peas, and her eyes trailed off to the floor.

He was hurting more than ever she realized, and tonight she wouldn't push for more. She wrapped her arms around him. They held each other. Their heads resting together, their bodies in line. She felt faint with every single breath he took, it was hot against her skin, still cold from the outside. They separated, and he got into his bed on the floor. Laura felt like asking him to sleep on her bed, but she knew the move was too risky with her parents being able to come in whenever. It was magical. The entire night, she couldn't stop reliving the moment. This was her first kiss and it was perfect.
