to say the atmosphere was chilling would be a blatant lie.

hyunjin had slowly opened the front door and looked inside. it was what he expected to see- pitch black in the entire apartment.

he knew it would be like this, because whenever seungmin gets upset he prefers to have the lights off. he would usually keep one on at least- but there was absolutely nothing.

hyunjin tried to squint his eyes to see while entering. he blindly touched the walls in hopes of finding the light switch, but he was too focused on checking seungmin to take any longer doing that.

he closed the door behind him and timidly called out seungmin's name. "seungmin..?" he patted the couch but felt nothing there. he then went to go upstairs to seungmin's room.

quickly to make sure he wouldn't fall while walking up the stairs he turned on his phone flashlight and went up. "seungmin it's me, are you in your room?" he questioned as he went up to the door.

he went to turn the handle but it was locked. so his question was answered.

he sighed and pressed his forehead against the door. "listen i know what happened.. and i'm sorry. but can you please open the door?" he waited to hear anything at the other side.

but he wasn't able to.

"seung come on." he jiggled the doorknob some more. he then pressed his ear against the door to see if he could hear anything that way.

and he didn't.

not even sniffling or crying.

he began to get worried. "if you don't come and open the door i'm gonna start to think something's happened to you." he tried to sound stern, even though his voice revealed his worry.

when not even that got hyunjin a response we was ready to go into full panic mode.

"oh my god- what the fuck do i do." he looked around in panic and felt in his clothes pocket. he reached and tried to find a bobby pin or something to unlock the door.

his hair was getting long these days so he prayed he kept one in this jacket. he fumbled and did eventually pull out the only bobby pin he had.

almost dropping it- he hurriedly tried to unlock the door. he couldn't get it the first two times but the third he heard a click and he burst through the door.

"seungmin?" he looked around in panic, at the floor and scanned the room in a matter of seconds.

he saw a lump under the blankets.

hyunjin rushed to the bundle and moved the blankets off- to reveal seungmin laying on his side with his eyes shut.

maybe he was being too dramatic- but hyunjin went to check his breathing, and once he saw that seungmin was alive he let out the largest sigh of relief that he was only sleeping.

"what the fuck.." he whispered, out of breath from his near panic attack. he looked at seungmin's ears and only then saw he had black pods in. that made sense.

he sat down in the space on the bed next to seungmin, and rested his head against the wall. he sighed but then he noticed seungmin's face.

it's very clear to see when someone has been crying for a long time.

his eyes, even when shut, looked exhausted. his cheeks had streaks of dried tears on them.

even when asleep he looked looked miserable. he just looked so sad. hyunjin found himself frowning at this.

"kim seungmin.. what am i going to do with you?" he sighed and brought up his sleeve to gently wipe at his cheeks.

hyunjin sunk down into the mattress, laying down facing seungmin as he looked at his face.
