Out of everyone in that group, he just had to be sent out to find food with the one person he would rather not interact with at all. Hell, he didn't even mind going alone. But of course, for reasons, he cannot. Jellal begged and begged the leader to pick someone else to go with him, but apparently she was the most suitable for the job at the moment.
He let her lead— since she had always been the one to want to— but that was clearly a mistake.
"Really? You got us lost?"
"We're not lost!" She kicked a metal scrap to the side, making way for the both of them. A little harsher than she intended to though.
"We're literally in some kind of junkyard. Not the town."
"Why'd you let me lead then," she mumbled, pouting at his words.
"Because you wanted to?!" Erza didn't think he had heard her, and was about mock him in some way as a retort, but then something caught her eye ahead.
"Look! There's the town! I told you we weren't lost!"
He only rolled his eyes at her and walked forward. "I'm leading," he stated over his shoulder.
